"The food and service were excellent and we enjoyed the whole experience. The noise level was probably higher than usual because there was a private party going on with only a partition between spaces, however we were still able to talk comfortably which is always important for me."

"If you are a gourmet foodie, this is a must go to restaurant. Chef Jacque is classically trained in traditional French cuisine, AND IT SHOWS. He is from the Brittany area of France and spent yrs. as a chef in Paris. While his expertise extends to all areas, he really excels in his artistry of pastries(particularly phyllo dough).
We sampled the following and I would recommend any of them. All are made inhouse...even the ice creams.

"We recently met some out of towm family at Chateau du Lac for a late lunch. It was every bit as nice as I had remembered from our last visit over a year ago. Three of the four of us had the scrumptuous onion soup (I don't do the French wording ) The fooourth in our party had the onion tart which comes with a nice side of salad - so mch that she cancelled her entree salad. I had the roast pork loin - absolutly deliciouso and a very generous portion - so much that I shared with the onion tart guest. It was served with pureed cauliflower, roasted apple slices and a fabulous sause. Yummy! My husband got the white bean cassoulelt with duck confit which he declared quite good and the other diner ate had shrimp remoulade salad. All Good!!!"

"The service was very good, perhaps because on a Monday night the place had only a handful of patrons. Cocktails are large and well prepared. Waitress was very nice and knowledgeable of the different selections on the menu. Menu is just right. Wine selection is remarkable with mostly French wines, but has also selections from Spain, Argentina (a very good Malbec) and few other regions. Not a long list, but just what you need to have in a good "cave"."

"I hesitate to rave about what a great experience we have everytine we dine at this litte gem in Metairie for fear that word may get out and they will become super crowded. The menu is always filled with the most unique entrees, the service warm and friendly, and the atmosphere intimate and charming. This is truly a hidden gem in the suburbs."
