"I went with a group of 4 and we all really liked Met. We all got the Mac-n-cheese and loved it. Also, the wine I got was good and the calamari app (though small for 4 to share) was tasty. The Mac-n-cheese was creamy with bread crumbs. There seemed to be some parmesian baked in with the bread crumbs which was a nice change. I'd definitely recommend this dish!"

"We had brunch at MET and really enjoyed our meal and the view of Newbury St. The special BLT Madame sandwich wasn't that memorable, but the other dishes were good. The fruit/yogurt/granola plate was very well-presented and more fresh and varied than most fruit plates."

"MET Back Bay hosted a small group of us for the evening. While we did not order anything terribly complicated (tartare duo - delicious, burgers - tasty, salad with salmon - large serving, well prepared), we were treated to very good food, delectable drinks, and excellent service. A surprise had been arranged ahead of time and working with the staff at MET Back Bay was straightforward and pleasant. Thank you for helping to make the evening an enjoyable one, MET Back Bay!"

"Met up with an old friend so we wanted a table upstairs so we could catch up. We ordered the ham and cheese app, but the slicing machine was broken so we got the shrimp cocktail. It was yummy but the shrimp was not as large and fresh as an Abe and Louis or Atlantic Fish. My salad was a 3.4/5 stars. Wine was great and the room is lovely. I would go back for sure. The waitress was awesome!!!!"

"Had a delicious brunch, but the bar was clearly overwhelmed and it took about 90 minutes start to finish which is a little long for brunch. The server was very nice and attentive, but the kitchen and bar were slow in getting drinks and meals out."

"We have eaten several times at the Met and no doubt will continue to do so. The only complaint we have is the advertising (at entrance register) for a delicious chef dessert with proceeds going to breast cancer. We asked our waitress about it, and looked forward to enjoying it. However, our visit was Friday night., and we were informed after dinner that they were not serving it until Monday. Why not say so on the advertisment or least inform your wait staff? It was very disappointing."

"I was surprised at how disappointing this restaurant turned out to be. We had an early lunch reservation, with the restaurant nearly empty, but were given an out of the way "booth" rather than one of the lovely tables near the windows. The server seemed disinterested and uninformed -- for example, she told us the "basket" of biscuits (which was a la carte, not included with meal) contained 4 biscuits -- it only had three. We waited nearly 45 minutes for lunch salads which were blandly seasoned and uninspired. The atmosphere is lovely and the location is wonderful, but it did not live up to my expectations at all. I will not be back."

"Had brunch on Sunday. It was the first real nice day of the spring and the outside terrace was very busy. We ate indoors but the restaurant clearly wasn't prepared for how many people were there. They were out of three different entrees. The menu is not that large to start with. Food we did have was fine but nothing special. Our waiter was pleasant enough but he was completely lost as a server. It did not ruin our experience but it was not good."

"Always loved the Met Back Bay. We like to eat and drink in their small Library Bar. We made a reservation at 6:15 through Open Table, and requested to sit there,if possible. When we arrived, we were told that The Library Bar was seated on a first come, first serve basis. Fine. We went in, and all tables were taken, but there were three open seats at the bar. (There were two of us). As I approached the bar, the bartender literally BARKED at me "THOSE SEATS ARE SAVED" in the unfriendliest of tones. The man (a regular) who was also seated at the bar looked at me apologetically and said, "I think they're outside having a cigarette". Ok, at least the CUSTOMER was nice. When a table became available, a "RESERVED" sign appeared there. Wassup??!"

"Had to wait 25 minutes for a table, despite having a reservation. Food was extremely salty. Waiter was very pleasant, but was also clearly stretched too thin."

"Great experience! Made a reservation for 9:30. The waiter was extremely accommodating and friendly given that the kitchen closed at 10. Loved the fun cocktails and will definitely be back in the future!"

"Just took a chance and booked through Open Table to find a restaurant. Very happy with the MET Back Bay. Service was excellent, food was really tasty, and the restaurant was charming - kind of old but with cool modern touches. We tried the pasta bolognese, chopped salad, and fish and chips - all excellent."

"Food a disappointment. Mediocre. French onion soup good. Quality instead of quantity would be better. Library nice enough rm. In warmer weather sidewalk cafe/bar area would be very nice."

"We had an enjoyable brunch on Easter Sunday. Service was good, but waitress forgot to bring out a cocktail. Also, one food order for a cheese omelette came out with ham and cheese; our vegan friend was NOT happy. That being said, our other diners thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and we all liked the decor. We'll go back, but hope the service improves by then."

"Great food, but very slow service and the food (we only ordered two appetizers) took almost an hour to arrive, and the restaurant was not even half full of guests."

"I went to the Restaurant today and it was during the restaurant week promotion. The lunch menu was not as good as what I thought it would be. My friend received half the serving for her slappy Joe's. The waitress looked tired and annoyed. She blamed the communication errors between the managers and servers. After telling her about the serving size, the manager came with the other half of the food, which was really awkward. It was also very cold. Over all, the lunch restaurant week menu was horrible. However, we also ordered the ham and cheese platter which was awesome. It was the best I ever had around Boston."

"Went for brunch with our 3 year old and friends' 4 month old. We're always concerned about whether a Back Bay place will be kid-friendly but the staff couldn't have been nicer - they even brought complimentary fries for our daughter after the server heard her ask about them even though her sandwich came with chips.
Food was very good and room was well lit, lots of space, exactly what we wanted."

"chocolate cake tasted store bought, $34 for a filet mignon is just obnoxious. I know it's the norm, but it's crazy, I don't like knowing the waiter is ready to go home - nice guy, good server, but a little uncomfortable knowing he was ready to leave."

"Eating different mains, both my wife and I had stomach discomfort after the meal. Lobster pappardelle had enormous cream, making it far too overwhelming to eat. Meatloaf was gross. One saving grace was excellent French onion soup."

"Started with the buttermilk biscuits and calamari. The calamari was light and not greasy. as nice fresh flavor. The biscuits were delicious. Main courses the mac n cheese and pot pie. The mac n cheese was incredible. Lots of cheese, pasta was cooked perfect and it was full of flavor. Pot pie filling was tasty but the puff pastry crust was missing any flavor. I took it off and used one of the biscuits instead. Drinks were reasonably priced and well made."
