"We had never been to Cafe Bella Sera, and heard that it was good, though expensive. So for Mother's Day, I surprised my wife by taking her there, and also with my son who came home from NC. The food was excellent, the service was good, though the waiter forgot one of our requests, as he had his hands full with several tables. Very nice setting, would love to come back and try the bar,"

"We had the Gorgonzola salad, Penne with Alfredo sauce, and the Chicken Bella Sera. Everything was delicious. The Chicken Bella Sera is a pan fried chicken cutlet that is served with fresh mozzarella cheese, spinach & hot finger peppers in a San Marzano Tomato Sauce, topped off with cold riccotta cheese. The contrast of the hot with the cold was different but quite delicious. The portions are large, and the entrees in my opinion could be shared for two people, especially if you choose to also do a salad. Service was great. The waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. The only negative thing I have to say is that the dishes are a bit overpriced. I would say overpriced about $3-$5."

"We live in an area with an abundant supply of Italian restaurants; however, every now and then we'll drive an hour north to Pete's Bella Serra. The food is fabulous coming out of an open kitchen so hot my glasses fogged up. The prices are a bit high, but the portions are huge. We stuffed ourselves for two nights. BTW the bread and garlic flavored olive oil (the best I ever had!!) is addicting, I'd definitely recommend "Pete's" and will be back!!"

"As usual the food we did recieve was delicious. But just like always 2 to 3 dishes never came out. This always takes place here. My daughter never got her pasta I never got my salad but I go back because what they do manage to deliver is always delicious!"

"Sat in the bar so it took some time to get some attention, but once we ordered it was great. The food was absolutely phenomenal again. The White Clams were fresh and plenty of them....no chopped canned clams here! The stuffed Veal Chop was incredible. Worth the expense compared to other restaurants."

"Food is amazing!! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted a romantic restaurant to celebrate. We will definitely return but my recommendations to management would be to turn down the volume on the music and train waiters to continue pouring champagne when it is ordered rather than have their patrons do it themselves."

"issues with the waitstaff he had to be reminded to bring more bread, get us salt & pepper and steak sauce; things they should have offered to start with. The noise level was high. The steak was tender but no taste; the pasta sauce not so good. I will not return even with the groupon deals they constantly offer."

"As you can see from other reviews, this place is inconsistent. At most, they had 8 tables occupied when we were there. The service was subpar for a place that charges as much as they do. They filled water glases for 3 out of 4 of us initially and barely came back. Bus boy & waiter didn't really have a clue or care. Seemed like lots of folks running around for no reason.
We will not be back nor will I recommend this place (even with a discount). Too expensive and not worth the trouble. Lots of better run places around that care about the customer."

"Been to Pete's on mult. occasions. If this was our 1st visit, we would hesitate on a return. Understandably, everyone can have an off night. Apparently, this was the case the day after Valentine's Day. Service started out good, Meatball Appetizer is out of this world. Salads are fresh & well prepared. Great wine list! However, that is where the good started to sour. My wife was brought the wrong "variation" of pounded veal. She started eating, then her plate was swooped away from her w/o asking. The server was boisterous, stated wrong dish and gave her another plate, which was bland & overcooked (it did make a nice sandwich the next day. I had the lobster raviolis, which were tasty. We were ignored for 20+ min. after our plates were cleared"

"We ordered a shrimp special. Our fault for not asking the price. 5 stuffed shrimp was approximately $62. We thought this was way out of line pricing.
When the bill came there was a charge on the bill labeled "open food". When the waiter was questioned, he immediately said that it was an error and removed it from the bill. We were left with the impression that this might have been done on purpose.
There are many good establishments in the area. We won't be returning here."
