"I took my wife for our wedding anniversary at the Capitol grill. It was our first time there and weren't sure what to expect. Our table was beautifully prepared with hearts and a special note making the experience extra special. The waiter John was great- he for us 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate and really set the tone for the whole dinner. When we got the food it was good, but not great. My demonico steak had too much connective tissue (my wife's was fine) and the lyonese potatoes had just too much crumbs on them and too mushy. All in all a good meal, but not as good as it could be (which is why I only gave it 4*).
In conclusion - it was one of our best anniversary dinners ever, thanks to the top flight service we got.

"I rarely eat steak, but when I do it's rare and at Capitol Grille! The steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were delicious as well. We had a fabulous, private room for my twins birthday celebration. The food was amazing as usual, although the time lapse between coffee and surprise cakes was awkward. I had pre-ordered the cakes and also enough to give to the rest of the party, but the two surprise cakes came out awkwardly late and no other desserts arrived.
Otherwise I give it a 9.9!!"

"We recently celebrated a 30th birthday at Capital Grille - Paramus. The servers and restaurant staff made us feel like royalty. They were attentive, helpful and friendly. As soon as we walked in we saw confetti and a handwritten birthday card on our table. They followed up with complimentary drinks and dessert. They treated us like we were the only couple in the restaurant. The food is expensive, but worth it, especially for a special occasion. We will absolutely come again."

"I wanted a quiet evening evening to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. I chose Capital Grill because it would be our first experience at the restaurant and because it was close to home. Usually we celebrate by dinning in New York City. I am glad that we took advantage of this wonderful establishment. The food was excellent but what made it better was our wonderful waiter. He was knowledgeable and attentive."

"We went for Mother's Day. We were kept waiting for ten minutes in the lobby, then the hostess grabs the menus and shows us to our table, five feet from the hostess stand, in an alcove in between the main hallway and the bar area. The server had to go out into the hallway, circle a support column, and come back to our table to address the other half of our group. I say the server, but there were two or three. Perhaps the location of our table meant there wasn't any one assigned. The food was good and the service passable given what a busy day this is for restaurants. Then a busboy bringing glasses back to the bar stumbles and spills water on and around some of my party. Another disadvantage of that particular seating. I expected better."

to his credit he backed off and gave us time - and then even took our dessert off the final bill which was a nice gesture. I would

"This has become my favorite steakhouse in Northern NJ. The food is worth every penny! Lobster bisque had much more lobster in a cup than a lobster dish that you would pay $25.00 for. The Dolmenico steak is juicy and cooked to perfection and nearly perfect the Filet Mignon with crab. The Lobster Mac"N"Cheese delicious, too. Lastly, the cheesecake wit strawberry sauce was the perfect way to end the meal. Can't beat Valet Service either."

"I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this "chain" restaurant. Within 2 minutes of walking in the door, I totally forgot that this location is connected to the Garden State Plaza (although there is no entrance directly from the mall, thankfully). The dark wood and dim lighting really set the mood for a great night.
My husband and I have been here alone one other time and sat at the bar. Food was great. This time we took our two kids for their birthdays (they are 1 day apart). A kids menu was available upon request and my daughter chose the mac & cheese. It was definitely higher end kid cuisine (no powdered cheese). The rest of us had steaks that were divine - and dessert. Best part was the service!"

"After reading glowing reviews I was eager to dine at Capitol Grille. For the price, I expected something a little special, and saddly, that was not the case. Other than the lobster bisque, the meal was an expensive disapointment. I was in Vegas a month ago and paid the same amount for a top notch dining experience and a steak that was out of this world. The "chef recommended" steak I ordered was tasleless except for the special rub. We ordered a side of mashed potatoes that was thick soup-like. I have no problem spending that much money for phenomenal food, this, saddly, was not. It might have been that the steak I received was less than stellar, and others are, but I'll be having my steak elsewhere in the future."

"As a New Yorker, I grew up at Peter Luger's steak house in Williamsburg Brooklyn. No steak house compares with Peter Luger's, but the Capital Grille saves the NJ diner the trip into the city and rewards them with the next best thing and a waitstaff that is friendly and helpful. The steaks and chops are top of the line and the choices are delicious and plentiful. It is very hard to believe that this is a chain restaurant. It gives a totally new meaning to the "chain" dining experience."

It totally explains the separate entrance from the mall. If your looking for great food, wine & exemplary service TCG is definitely where you want to be. "we were celebrating 2 anniversaries and 2 birthdays! When we arrived at our table there was confetti of balloons scattered on the table with 2 cards wishing us Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday. It was very festive to say the least. Our meal was wonderful. Steaks done perfectly, one person at our table ordered the red snapper special which she thought was delicious.As for drinks, try the Stolie Dolie Martini. Our particular server was not an expert on wine but she brought over another waiter ( whom had served us on a previous visit) who is very knowledgable. He recommendation was the perfect pairing with the meat.For dessert- surprised when a tray of desserts with a candle arrived including the signature coconut cream pie!"
