"After hearing mixed reviews on this restaurant, my husband and I decided to give it a try. For some reason, they had us reserved for the patio...considering it was 97 degrees outside, this was not what we reserved. So, they put us at a nice little table by the bar which was fine. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. The service was not good though. Anytime we needed something (even to order food), we had to flag down the waiter. This may have been because we were in the bar area and we got a different crew? Not sure, but it's worth a visit if you've been considering it."

"While the ambience and service were outstanding, my food was below par. I ordered the beef short ribs, which I had dined on during lunch on several occasions. The dinner portion, while much bigger than the lunch portion, did not have the same melt in your mouth texture that I had come to expect. I was disappointed, but will hope it was only an isolated incident. One of my dinner guests chose the sea bass, which was excellent!"

"My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, we enjoyed the food at Up and the service was excellent. Our only complaint was the noise level (that is why I am only offering a "fair" rating on ambience). We couldn't even hear each other talking. The restaurant is loud but there are a couple of large tables for big groups right in the center of the restaurant. We weren't able to hear each other but could hear everything going on at both of those tables. Perhaps it is as simple as moving large groups to the corners or at least up against the walls."

"We went to Up to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere was quiet, which allowed us to have a relaxing conversation. The wait staff was very helpful and prompt. The food was amazing. The steak I had was perfectly cooked and the beef short ribs my wife had were also amazing. The rest of the food was top notch. We will definitely be back again."

"Food was average at best. Service was good. Food required a bit of salt. No salt and pepper on tables. Yet rice was so salty it was inedible. Caesar salad did not taste like Carsar salad. Flowers on table had cloudy water. I mention this only because I am a florist's daughter and it bothered me. Overpriced and underwhelming. Would I go back or recommend it? No."

"This was my second time at Up, and I will absolutely be going back again and again. I went for lunch and had the Prix Fixe Business Lunch, and the amount and quality of the food you get for the price is outstanding. Obviously it is a bit too pricey for everyday eating, but for a special occasion, a business lunch or just to treat yourself, it is well worth it! The service is great, the food is amazing and during lunchtime it is very quiet. I have not been for dinner, but do intend to go back some night soon!"

"The main reason I keep returning to Up is because of the impeccable service and attitude exuded by ALL the staff. I've never had a bad experience. From the moment you walk in the door, the hostess is fantastic, personable and engaging. The service team does an outstanding job of being there - when they need to be there. I've been in the restaurant industry for over 15 years (corporate side) and I've always prided myself on giving credit when credit's due - you must experience this restaurant. Oh, and the food is fantastic! Love the selections; enough variety for any foodie."

"The food was decent and so was the service but a few things stood out. First, none of the food we tried was as delicious as I would have hoped for the prices and based on the reviews I'd seen. We tried the brussel sprouts and artichoke appetizer - pretty good but I've definitely had better. For dinner we had the Scottish salmon which was mediocre at best and the Texas Redfish which was fantastic. Finally we tried the creme brulee trio for dessert. Again, they could have been better but they were also pretty good. One thing that really stood out was that our waiter didn't know the menu! This scared me a bit and I felt we could have had better service overall at a place like that but he only left us hanging once so it wasn't TOO bad."

"Our waiter was super attentive, not too much, just the right. I made reservations to celebrate my friend's 50th birtday. She's a school teacher & that day I wasn't aware that she had to be dressed in the theme they'd adapted to help the kids stay motivated to succeed in their standardized testing. The theme was combat ready, she had on combat boots, a camouflage skirt & orang t-shirt with the schools name written across it. She called from downstairs & said, Nikki, I didn't have time to change, are they going to let me in? I told her to come on up, it's her birthday, don't worry. She did, & was sooo self conscious about her attire. No one said a thing, & she had a really nice time. The food was great &,the view was gorgeous."

"I booked the reservation on Open Table and put in some instructions that one of the party had a birthday. I didn't think about it anymore. The place is AMAZING! Fantastic decor. Extremely rich and stylish yet very warm and welcoming. The chandelier is out of this world. Our waiter was new but was absolutely fantastic! He knew a great deal about the food and he was attentive yet unobtrusive. Then, he brought out this fabulous dessert with "Happy Birthday Michael" written on the plate in chocolate!!!! It was so thoughtful and so gratifying that they remembered and paid attention to the notes in the reservation. AND the dessert was to die for. Then Oscar stopped by and introduced himself! TOP of my list going forward."

"Been here a couple a times now and I have to say I have yet to be dissapointed. The service was spectacular as always. I never feel that I'm been rushed or the server is hovering over us. I would recommend the crispy sprouts and artichoke hearts as an appetizer. AS an entree the seabass and short ribs are exceptional. Perfect patio scenery."

"The decor of your restaurant is beautiful, but the ambiance created by the design and buildout of your restaurant is definitely marred by your placement of a large screen television in the bar area. This would not be a problem if your bar was located off to the side of the main dining area, but it is not. To the contrary, your bar area is elevated and has a stunning, eye-catching chandelier hanging over its centerpoint. A stunning crystal chandelier and a big screen television are not compatabile elements for the look and feel of a sophisticated restaurant. In addition, on the evening that I was there, during the NCAA basketball playoffs, the waiters crowded around the TV to the detriment of the wait service provided to your patrons."

"Have been several times-- food is always outstanding as well as the service-- very attentive without hovering. This trip was to try the Monday night chef special-- Buttermilk fried chicken and waffles.. The crust was crispy not at all greasy, and the chicken was tender and flavorable. One entree consisted of 4 pieces of chicken-- everyone took home chicken leftovers. Also notable was the tortilla soup and the Brussels sprout/artichoke appetizers. The view is wonderful and the outdoor patio would be perfect to celebrate special occasion."

"I went to Up with a date that was from out of town. Brandon, our waiter was 5 star; and the service was excellent. The food was delicious and my out of town guest loved the ambiance, the food and the beautiful chandelier. We had brussel sprouts and a crab cake to begin, and then he had the duck and I had the lamb. Followed by a little cheesecake and each had a bite. We had a beautiful red wine to go with it that was perfect. Absolutely delicious! Great!!!"

"The food, service, and surroundings were all superb. My wife wife and I ordered four dishes (one appetizer and entree by each of us), and every dish was outstanding. The staff was courteous, attentive. Our particular waiter was also completely knowledgeable about the menu and especially helpful with suggestions when we asked. This is a wonderful destination/special occasion restaurant and a great choice for guests from out of town who like fine dining."

"we had a very nice time here. my friends were quite impressed. when they turned the corner from the entry to the bar area, I could see them mouth the word 'wow!'. as the evening progressed & the sun set the lighting in bar/restaurant really began to sparkle.
the service was great...nice & friendly. the menu had a nice selection, but not one of the 10 page things that makes me crazy.

"This place is in a pretty decent location but I could care less for the food...it was very bland and definitely not worth the price! It took everything in me not to send my entree back! But it was a good experience I just don't plan to go back. The dessert was the best part of the evening and we also had a great view because I requested a window table."

"My overall visit was enjoyable.The ambiance was on point and the elevator idea is a great one. However there could have been more wait staff it seems that only two were available at the time ( lunch ) and were a little overwhelmed. With this in mind I would prefer having a nice Romantic diner instead of lunch to take the time to marinate. The food was good but could have been a little more flavorful. I also would like to see something other than macaroons on the desert menu for lunch. However I was given an alternative to pay extra for something else. Anyway this is my personal opinion; whatever works for guys. Keep it Up:."
