"I have been to Cheever's many times in the past and this was truly a bad experience. I took my mother and girlfriend's mom (who's from out of town) for a belated mothers day. Had a reservation @ 1215PM, didn't get a table until 1225. Once we were seated, it took 10 minutes to get any attention from a waiter, once we did it was 10 more minutes before any drinks showed up. This continued with the food order...once or order was taken it took 40 minutes for it to be served. 2 of the dishes were good, two were not. I hope this was a one time occurrence. The noise level was so high in the restaurant, we couldn't hold a conversation. An investment in some sound-dampening material in the ceiling would be a wise investment."

"We always enjoy dining at Cheevers and usually remember to make a reservation on opentable, but have been turned away many times without one due to the long wait. Many options on the menu are wonderful, although I have had a few misses; Sunday I had the salmon salad which was just ok. The brunch fried chicken and waffles is always great. The best thing about Cheevers is the ambiance,"

"Had lunch and dinner at Cheever's within a week. Terrific service both times (lunch at the bar). Nice variety on the wine list. All food was great. Especially enjoyed the calamari appetizer. Striped bass was cooked perfectly, very moist. Chocolate cake was even better the next night. One order appeared to be 1/4 of the whole cake. We took our leftover cake to a party and 8 people had a small slice. Really appreciated the great service, b/c we find that a rare thing in Norman, where we live."

"Took my mom to Cheever's for Mother's Day. Loved the food and drinks! Service was no good but I think it was just the one waitor Phillip. He didn't smile once and was very short with us. But the food was so good and reasonably priced I will for sure be making a return visit!"

"The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. We went for Mother's Day brunch. We actually had Mother's Day brunch on Sat afternoon at 2:30pm because that was the only reservation time left for the whole weekend. On Sat during the day they have a brunch menu. I had always read reviews on how good the chicken fried steak is so I decided to try it. It was great! I was afraid the jalapeno gravy might be to spicy so I had it on the side. It had a wonderful flavor and wasn't hot at all. My husband NEVER eats chicken fried steak. I encouraged him to try a taste of it and he said, "I don't like chicken fried steak but that is really good. That is made from good steak - not that cube steak.""

"I like to eat here often, especially for brunch. The food is so good and unique, and the service has always been just right for the meal. Servers are knowledgeable, but not pushy. They even brought back a brunch day drink called the Brents Breakfast Detox, that is so tasty"

"Went on a Saturday night for Mother's Day so restaurant was packed and noisy. But corner table by the window was great. The large front windows make it all feel roomy! The food was amazing down to the small slice of andouille sausage tucked into the bacon wrapped shrimp that topped the shrimp and grits.

They made it so special for us with a delicious appetizer, outstanding brunch, and the most delicious ice cream ball for dessert. The service was excellent and felt so personal. "Menu is limited, but serves common choices in a unique and tasty way. I am not a big fan of calamari, but we ordered some and it was delicious! It was not oily from the deep frying and very tender. The dinner rolls brought out before the main dishes tasted of Italian seasoning and were also very good. Our server even brought a second bowl of them after our party polished off the first bowl. Our main dishes were all very good as well. We found ourselves sharing tastes of our dishes with each other. Portions were a bit large, but very little food was left to take home after our meal. We didn't leave room to try any of the deserts."

"I went here with my husband for our 13th anniversary, wanting a nice night out without the kids. I had heard really good things about this place and wanted to try it. I am a pretty relaxed person so the snooty atmosphere and high brow clientelle was a turn off and a surprise. I knew this was a nicer place, but it is near the art districts and such so I thought it would be a little younger and more trendy. It was...stuffy. Also, the food was good, but it is all a tex mex inspired menu and I ended up only finding one menu item I was even interested in. The menu is also rather limited. The execution of the food was right on target though. Even though it tasted good, I doubt I will ever go back."

"We frequently dine at Cheever's for Sunday brunch, and until recently we have thoroughly enjoyed our experience. My husband orders the chicken fried steak. On our visit a few weeks ago the main entree was not prepared correctly - it was undercooked and was sent back for a replacement. This past Sunday he again ordered the chicken fry. When it arrived at our table, it was half the size it normally is, and in fact, the man dining next to us ordered the Cowgirl Benedict and it was quite a larger portion. When we brought this to our server's attention, he agreed. He did offer to get my husband additional potatoes - that too was lacking.
Cheever's has long been a favorite place for dining; however, it will be a long while before we return."

"My family and I enjoy Cheever's brunch because the food is great and is located in my neighborhood. However this last visit (4-28-13) was the worst we have ever experienced. Everyone was rude and acted like they did not want to be there, except for the host because he looked like he had no clue how to do his job. We waited almost 15 min before someone brought us water, 50 min for our food, and had to ask for silverware three times. No one ever apologized to us. Our server treated us like we didn't deserve to be dining there. The bright spot was the food, delicious as usual. Unfortunately this experience has ruined Cheever's for me, and we will be finding other restaurants for brunch until their staffing situation improves."

"We normally love Cheever's and make it a destination when we travel from Wichita to OKC. This time, however, was a bit disappointing. My husband's soup wasn't even approaching hot....they did replace it, but I was concerned about the safety of something that arrived at the table barely lukewarm. My Pepperjack Chicken Phyllo Stack was not recognizable as the same dish I've had several other times, and the Brussels sprouts that I ordered as a side came about halfway through the meal after reminding the server. Hopefully, they were just off their game on a Tuesday night, because I'd hate to think this what we can expect here after so many stellar meals."

"The shrimp linguini had more bacon in it than shrimp which overpowered the flavors. The dish was just Ok, not what I expect of Cheevers. Salad was nice.
The pork chop was dry. When you go to Cheevers for a special occasion, it was my husbands birthday, you want a special meal and you pay for it.
The Moscato was a very good wine and I would like to know the name of it."

"Very accomodating to our group. One of the guests had a special diet restriction and kitchen accomodated. Another guest in group had a very tight time frame due to a flight out of town that evening, and again they accomodated such by serving us dinner under an hour.
Second time to restaurant, and both times the staff and the food out did themselves. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Oklahoma City. Worth the visit, and a gem for the city."

"We went for a honeymoon dinner. The restaurant staff had a small but tasteful floral display ready for us and complimentary champagne waiting at the table.
