"We celebrated a special birthday for my husband at Shula's. We have been there several times over the past few years and have always enjoyed it. This time was the best! Our waitress, Petrone, was friendly, helpful on our food choices, and appeared only when we needed her, so we had a quiet, romantic dinner with terrific steak and a nice bottle of wine. Everything is a la carte, and pretty expensive, but definitely worth it!"

"Excellent steaks, but I felt the crab mac-and-cheese could have used just a little more flavor. It came off just a bit bland. Excellent wedge salad. They need to complete the rennovations of the patio. Dining outside here is a real treat, and to have that out of commission takes the whole place down a notch. Also, one family brought in their screaming toddler, which really put a damper on what could have been a romantic ambience. Not entirely the restaurant's fault, but this can be resolved by enforcing a dress code. (Do they make formal jackets for toddlers?) Or creating a separate dinnig area that caters to families with small children. Note to families like this: Get a sitter, or eat at Denny's."

"The hostess was downright rude. Even when we showed her the confirmation email from OpenTable, she told us we didn't have a reservation. The manager came over and found it right away. He apologized but she just walked off. Our waiter was good - very friendly. The food was just OK. Nothing great. For the money, I just wouldn't go back. There are other places that are more worth it."

"I have eaten at different Shula steak houses before , so I was excited to eat at this one , but the excitement quickly left , chef Ramsey of kitchen nightmare would have left in discust, the service was atrocious , my lobster bisque was the worst I have tasted , I sent it back , my steak fries were cooked in old grease , I asked to replaced them with better fries , but the replacements fries were no better , my wife's baked potato was overcooked , I payed over hundred dollars for this meal and was less than satisfied , I would never recommend this restaurant ."

"It was a disapinointing experience. It started out very nice, but after our meal was served, the waiter disappeared. When he finally returned, we asked that he wrap our leftovers as we had a considerable portion left on our plate; at that time we ordered coffee and dessert. The coffee came out real fast. However, the cordials and the dessert never arrived 20 minutes later, he said he forgot to order our cordials, we asked to speak to the manager who had an excuse for everything. We asked for our bill and take home package. The next day when we went to heat up our meal, we realized it was not our food! We called the manager and they did admit ours was thrown out!! This was very sneaky, what they gave us did come close to what we left!!"

"Really good steak. If your looking for a traditional steakhouse Shula's is the place for you. The make a great martini, great sourdough bread, and a great steak. Our steaks were cooked to the perfect temperature...medium/rear. Sides and appetizers are very traditional offerings...not for foodies. We passed on the appetizers and spit a wedge salad. For sides we had mushrooms and lobster mashed potatoes. I'm glad I tried the potatoes. Something you have to try at least once, but would not order again. I'd rather eat more of the steak. Will go back for sure."

"For the prices charged the food is not great. The Caesar salad was so so at best. The mashed potatoes with lobster were too watery (I didn't like them at all - my husband said they were ok). Lamb chops were very good. The people we took to dinner said their meals were ok at best. The service was very slow and the restaurant wasn't that busy. It was early in the evening. The bus staff was bad. Left our dishes on the table way to long when we were done eating. Your food quality and level of service to not constitute your prices. Ruth's Chris is far superior. You asked so I have to be honest."

"Food was delicious. Our waiter was slow to warm up to us. Not sure if he was busier earlier in the evening when we got there, but he didn't seem to pay us as much attention and be friendly until about half way through our dinner. Our steaks were perfect though. Very good. Ambiance was almost perfect except the music was blaring. We asked them twice to turn it down and it was pretty loud through the whole dinner. For such a nice place, we should not have felt like we had to yell across the table."

"The food was ok but nothing extraordinary for the price point. The service was awful. Our server took 20 min to come take our wine order. Then when she did come back, was challenged to pour the wine. We sat there with empty water glasses while the staff hung out and chatted.
The BBQ shrimp was not worth the price tag of nearly 4 bucks per shrimp. They were dried out and the house BBQ sauce was nothing special.
After waiting another 30 minutes for our meal, the plates were scalding hot from sitting under the heat lamp. The crab Mac and cheese was not good at all.

"If you want a good steak just go to Outback and spend 1/3 of what you will get at this restaurant. I don't mind spending money if it is worth it but my wife and I were disappointed with this restaurant. There are just too many choices out there and if you are spending $50 a person you can get a better experience all around somewhere else."

"I took my wife here for her birthday for the first time not sure of what to expect. From the time we arrived, my wife was given a personalized birthday card from the management team, which was very thoughtful. We had a table with a view and enjoyed an AMAZING dinner. Our servers were very knowledgeable and attentive, always making sure our table was taken care of during the entire time we were there. We both had a 22oz cowboy steak, which I still can't believe we each were able to eat, but then again we skipped the appetizer as we wanted to make sure there was room for dessert. Since it was her birthday, she received a delicious Creme Brulee on the house that was out of this world. We can't wait to come back again."

"The jazz music piped in was not relaxing and verged on annoying. It made us want to hurry through dinner, which should never be the case.
Our experience at most restaurants in the area is the service is slow and the wait staff are like robots,lacking in conversational skills.

At Shulas, known for their beef, I ordered prime rib and was told the chef said it was too fatty so they didn't have it. This was 10 to 15 minutes after we placed our order. Poor planning on the management for that issue.dessert was great
Overall it was expensive which I don't mind if the food is what you order and the atmosphere is right. Turn down the jazz and find someone that can help choose the right music and you may see an increase in customers"

"While the service was excellent and the atmosphere certainly was nice, the food was mediocre. We ordered the Lamb chops (gigantic) and the 16oz NY Strip. For a $40 plus steak it was perfectly cooked, but was on the tough side even by lower standards. The lamb while flavorful and cooked perfectly as requested (rare), was sinewy and tough as well. Both dishes came out and were warm but not espcecially hot/sizzling."

"Impressive Steak experience..... Kentucky 22 ounces should be named FlintStones. My wife and I and our friends do not like leaving food on our plate especially when it tastes so good. With so many of us going the healthy eating direction with smaller portions, We would go back but choose a smaller steak or share the steak. Even the Prime Beef was a huge portion that food seemed to overhang the plate that could feed two people. An easy 12% reduction in size would probably serve all patrons and help humanity. Being healthy conscious Italian,Canadian in our early 50's, we prefer great cuisine with reasonable portions. We were so full and content but prefer less. Go with a huge appetite."

"We go there every time we're in Fort Lauderdale and it's consistently great. We also enjoy sitting on the patio overlooking the Atlantic while we enjoy breakfast too. It's a great place with good food and very good service. If you're staying in that area of Fort Lauderdale...it's a very safe choice for a solid dining experience."

"I thought the ambience and the food was good . . . but one should expect that for the $$ paid. It was somewhat negative in that even with a 7:30pm reservation and early arrival (we got there about 7:20pm), we were not seated until close to 8 o'clock AND it also took a reminder to the hostess to "not forget us" while we sat at the bar. That was a bit disappointng.
We chose it as it was "walkable" from our hotel down the road and was something with a local flare. If I were to stay in that area again, I probably wouldn't go. It was good, but not exceptional."

"Myself and my husband made reservation through open table for dinner last feb 16 2013 at 8pm. We were sat promptly. The server did not come to our table for about 10 mins. My husband ordered a bottle of wine and I inquired on some bread. The server came out with the wrong bottle citing that the bottle had changed. We accepted the excuse. We placed our entire meal order at that time. Our 1st course was delivered I then asked for bread and now given excuse it was being baked. I asked a busboy for bread having not beleiving what John the server was saying. "The staff and manager were very friendly and accommodating. Food was amazing. My fiancé and I had the lobster bisque for an appetizer and it was the best lobster bisque both of us have ever had. Our waiter was attentive to us and made sure our wine glasses were never below half empty. This was the first time in over a year that my fiancé and I have been able to go out together because he was battling cancer and going through chemo and radiation treatments. Your staffs service, ambiance, and food made our night very special and we had a wonderful time. Thank you."
