Wildwood Restaurant is located in Portland's beautiful Northwest neighborhood. Founded in 1994 by Executive Chef Cory Schreiber, Portland native. Dustin Clark was named Executive Chef in 2007. Our seasonal menus showcase the wealth of premium ingredients found only miles from the restaurant in the lush Willamette Valley, coastal mountain ranges and diversified farmlands of Oregon and Washington. Daily offerings include a sumptuous diversity of meats, seafood, pastas, vegetables, salads, pizzas from the clay oven, and luscious desserts. Our regional wine list constantly evolves to showcase the best local producers. The Pacific Northwest theme continues in the slate floors and wood-lined ceiling, giving Wildwood's dining room a casual, modern feel. Seating options include intimate booths, chef's counter, bar, patio and two private dining rooms.
"My wife and I dined here twice during our stay in Portland. Each time was excellent. We received excellent service and informed decisions on wine pairings with the food that did not push the most expensive bottles on the list."

"A friend and I met for lunch on a sunny Tuesday. We were seated outside. The service was outstanding; knowledgable and just the right amount of interaction. The food was very fresh and prepared to respect the fine ingredients. I will certainly be back."

"We have been going to Wildwood for the last decade (lunch & dinner) and consistently amazing. Every dining experience is culinary genius: from gourmet interpretations on classic dishes to innovative cuisine. Every course, every time is sheer indulgence --> and thus our ALL-time favorite Portland restaurant. With food this great, it is very hard to venture away to explore other restaurants!"

"Wildwood was recommended by a NW Portland friend who lives in the area. What a great place! The have a parking lot which is crucial for the area bereft of easy parking. The service was outstanding and very professional. The food choices, while limited, were all excellent. My two dining partners and I all had different dishes and everyone thought their food was great. I thought the halibut portion was a little small, however."

"Fantastic restaurant providing locally sourced incredibly fresh ingredients. Wine list is delightfully Pacific northwest enriched -- and our waiter was able to provide very clear and accurate advice on wines for our dinner."

"Great food. Terrible table! The server, the woman who poured water/ cleared table both commented on how awkward it is and how they couldn't reach. It was very uncomfortable to sit at the chair next to the booth. I made the reservation for 5 and we are not big people, they really need to figure out the seating!
Wildwood is very good. The service was good and they were very gracious about requests to adjust ingredients.
I've eaten here many times before and normally prefer to sit on the bar side. Next time I would not agree to sit at the weird table/ booth."

"Sadly I was very dissapointed! this has been a favorite restaurant of ours for years and I won't rush back anytime soon! The muscle and grilled romaine salad recipes have changed - they were a classic favorite dishes on the menu - the halibut was undercooked and wait staff suggested a glass of wine - implying compensation for the uncooked meal and we were charged for the wine - not impressed!"

"For many years, Wildwood has been a favorite restaurant for special occasions or a place to bring visiting guests for a reliable taste of Portland. However, the last few times we have eaten there, the menu has been oddly eccentric, with a frequent occurrence of poached or pickled eggs, and grilled or wilted greens of various types as main course accompaniments. When I spoke to the manager about this, he advised me they had "unleashed" their new chef. Well, I think a little leashing might be in order. Color me old fashioned, but I am just not taken with creamed nettles, wilted kale, braised radishes, or petrale sole with fried Kale and pickled egg. Adventurous foodies may like the "new" Wildwood. Me, not so much."

"The food is exceptional, as is the service. The focus is still upon local foods, prepared in innovative ways. Our ONLY objection is that some of the dinner portions are getting smaller, as are some of the appetizers. The restaurant is very fairly priced for the quality, but it becomes a little spendy when the amount of lamb in the leg of lamb is marginal."

"Liked that they support local. This was our 1st visit after knowing it was highly rated for many years. Maybe our expectations were too high but we found it just good. There was no real atmosphere. he WC with its wall of mirrors was sort of gross for a woman. We have been going to St Jacks,Ava Genes,a Cena and Jamisons. They all have a lot more energy and for us more choices we like."

"Have been coming to the bar for drinks and food for quite some time, and decided to finally try the dining room. The menu was limited, each item seemed to 'try too hard' - typical sort of over the top Portland fare - lots of good ingredients, not put together that well.
Long story short - go to the bar, have a burger or pizza, skip the dining room."

"Very nice, thank you. We were marking a big jump--making an offer on a Portland home the next day. We were welcomed with smiles at the door and taken to our booth. Drinks came immediately. An emissary from the kitchen brought us a little blue cheese on a crust from the chef to start; the salad, short ribs and lamb were all lovely. Our waiter was friendly and focused, suggested a good red for the lamb, and chuckled when I said we'd catch dessert at Salt and Straw. The red was fine and the Hefeweizen just right. Thanks, again. We'll be back after the move. --Susan and Joy"

"So sad that this fine restaurant was just full of misses on our last visit. We have been going to Wildwood for 8 years now and always look forward to the night out and amazing food.
Our service was distracted, slow and borderline abrupt. It was a busy night but we've never had service like that before.
Both the pork chop and the sole main course were extremely salty (very dry pork). The mussels (usually our favorite) had four tightly closed shells out of eight or ten. Very strange.
I'm sorry I am not recommending this restaurant which use to be on my go to list. There are too many other choices in Portland to take the chance."

"We went with friends who are real foodies, but eat fish and no meat. the theme of the menu that evening was apparently pork and bacon - in everything! - so options were limited from the start. I asked for the sole to be prepared without bacon and it was good (but really, bacon with such a delicate fish?). When asked if the seafood risotto starter was sufficient for a meal the waiter assured us it was; it was a miniscule portion and if advised otherwise, she would have ordered a double portion. The waiter was distracted, inattentive, and got the dessert order wrong (for the same friend with a very small meal). The girl refilling water glasses was more engaging! I would advise inquiring about the menu before reserving."

"There were some changes since our last visit. No more table cloths but scorched wood top, darker painted walls and new china (?) plates. Our favorite mussels appetizer had been prepared in a new way but we missed the old preparation. The servers all seemed to be new and service was very slow- we did not think much of the outfits the women servers were wearing!"

"I was greeted warmly, and quickly ushered to a table in the back right next to the drafty window where in my fashionable outfit in the dead of winter was a poor choice since I had to be immediately reseated since I was freezing to death. The staff seemed highly inconvenienced by this request, despite the fact there seemed to be several empty tables at the time.
Despite, I carried on and ordered polenta that was not properly cooked, overly greasy chicken and a selection of artisan bread with salts that I could have prepared at home for a fraction of the cost and sans snootiness. The saving grace of dinner was my appetizer and dessert. I did enjoy my shrimp and grapefruit risotto and my creme brulee.
However, I prefer the days of old!"

"I thought the portions at lunch were a bit small (and I am not a big eater). My friend had fish and chips, with only one piece of fish, served with sweet-potato fries (a surprise, she was expecting regular fries). I had an entree salad, which was not large, served without even a single slice of bread. (An order of bread is $3 extra, but I didn't want an entire order.) The scoop of sorbet I ordered for dessert was tasty but so frozen that I had to "bang" at it with my spoon to even get the spoon into it. Servers friendly and helpful but slow. Expensive for what you get. The lunch menu and quality of food were better before Cory Schreiber left."

"Went there for a birthday celebration. I requested a quiet spot since two in our party wear hearing aids. The staff accomodated our request, putting us in a booth in a corner spot, even though it was challenging for the wait staff to reach one of us. I appreciated their honoring our request. One in our party travels extensively in the US. He has a friend from NYC, who had to dine here after reading a good review in the NY Times! So, word has traveled across the country. The menu gave us lots of options, and among the four different entrees we ordered, each was fabulous. Can't wait to return."

"Our overall view of this restaurant is good and come here often. Our only negative on this visit was desert. The Creme Brulee was described as salt crusted, but was more like a salt mine! We complained and they removed the item from our bill."

"Love everything about this restaurant since Cory was chef. The last couple of times here were disappointing for this foodie. Great atmosphere, able to have a conversation at the table. Service excellent. Food not so much. Tough to keep the high level previously attained. So many exceptional restaurant in town now that serve inspired food. The kitchen here needs to crank it up a notch or two to match the service and facilities."

"I like Wildwood but I do wish they'd have more lighter options, as well as more vegetarian options on the menu. They always have at least one item that's vegetarian but it does tend to be on the heavy side (creamy polenta, this time) and the two salad options seem to always be a Caesar with chicken or a tiny salad that won't do for an entree. Otherwise, the food is very good and the service is excellent."

"Vegetarians and vegans beware. Wildwood is definitely a Portland gem - but I was disappointed in the almost complete absence of anything for vegans in the group. Or any information on the menu to acknowledge dietary preferences and restrictions. Portland has been called by some the vegan capital of the U.S., so I feel like it's a blatant disregard for a swath of the local population to not provide options like this. Hopefully they'll remedy this soon."
