Agora Churrascaria
Agora Churrascaria is a Brazilian Steak House in the "Rodizio" style, where waiters, dressed as Gauchos (local ranchers from the South), move from table to table carrying skewers of meat, from which they slice portions for their guests. Agora serves 12 different cuts of meat, including beef, pork, lamb and chicken. The restaurant prepares each cut as it has been for centuries: seasoned with rock salt to accent the individual tastes of each cut, and slow-roasted over an open flame. Upon being seated, every guest is given a green and red-sided circular chip to control their fixed price, continuous tableside service. The green side signals the Gaucho to "bring it on," while the red side stops the service. For additional servings, guests simply flip the indicator back to the green side. In addition to the succulent meat selections, Agora offers an outstanding hot and cold salad bar, comprised of Brazilian and seafood specialties as well as a variety of tempting side dishes.

"This is the second time that my boyfriend and I have eaten here. First time was for Valentine's Day, this time was for his birthday. I dont feel like we got the good meats this night. Some/most were too rare for our liking, and our favorite cut of meat, top sirloin, was really salty. Not to mention the whole reason for coming there, the cheese bread! Fell in love with the first time I tasted it, unfortunately, this time it tasted dry. Service wasn't too bad since it was almost non-existent. Luckily, we didn't require too much from him. Would come back here again"

"We decided on Agora for Mothers Day. We have been here before and, like always, the food was outstanding. They have an extensive side dish buffet to get your salad and sides. There were several kinds of potatoes, pasta and various greens and add-ons for the salads. Fresh lox and other tasty dishes also abound.
But, the real reason to go to Agora is already at your table. Sit down with your accumulated side dishes and salad and the show begins. Servers in gaucho outfits bring hot, delicious meats to your table. You won't find any outlandish meat like alligator or ostrich. What you will find is great marinated sirloin, pork and chicken, as much as you want for a reasonable price. A great restaurant. Wines are pricey, drinks are reasonable."

"This is a place to be if you belong to a carnivore family. Variety and quality of different offerings was excellent (beef, lamb, chicken, sausages, etc). If you happen to be a pescetarian (like me) to accompany all those happy meat-eaters, you won't be disappointed also. The buffet offered a good spread of salads, cold cuts, sea food, side dishes and hot dishes, too. I had a nicely cooked grilled salmon. "The ambiance is great. However, the waiter would never acknowledge us to see how things were. He would pass by and look straight ahead, but had no problem helping everyone else out. Not once did he fill up my drink I had to flag him down and even then it was the bus boy that would fill it up. I was very disappointed and annoyed. The guys who would come around with the meats would never stop by our table as well. This is my first and last time that I would eat here."

"Outstanding service from the server Ivan and The Bussboy Rogelio. They did an amazing job through the whole dine in experience. I was there to celebrate Mother's Day with my wife and son and everything was perfect. Since we walk in the restaurant it was a great welcome and then Ivan was at our table anytime we needed him. I am a restaurant general manager so there is no easy to please me with service because I am always looking for service opportunities but this time at Agora was outstanding. Food was tasty and fresh, we get to try 13 different meats in within 1 hour it and was perfect. Great job to Ivan and Rogelio, they made my night a great dine in experience."

"I picked this place for a small gathering with family while I was in town. I have eaten at Brazilian Steakhouses in Brazil and was looking forward to trying it in the states. The service was excellent from the hostess to the server. The food selection was pretty good (They had a fair amount, however I wouldn't say it was huge). The food they had was excellent and the meats where cooked perfectly and very tasty. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a nice meal with anyone for a special occasion."

"The atmosphere was nice. Salad bar was phenomenal. The disappointment came in the service. we were told there would be 17 different types of meats. After about 7 offerings, the gauchos stopped coming by. Delivery was too fast in the beginning, then non- existent. This was disappointing. When we asked for the filet minon, which had not appeared, they did bring it, but we still don't know what the other things were that never came. About half of what we did get was delicious, the other half just so so. Our waiter forgot about us in the end, and we had to track them down to get a birthday flan (yummy) which the bus boy brought. A little bit later, the waiter brought another flan with a candle, not realizing we had already gotten one."

"I have been to Agora multiple times, and I can recommend it for the food. The meat selection is excellent, and always well done. It is a great place to go for something different.
However, I cannot recommend Agora for the service, and my recent visit a few days ago is a good example. In my OpenTable reservations I requested a quiet table for 3. When we arrived, I reminded the hostess & asked for a table on the side. She took us to a huge table for 6 in the middle. (?!) There were tables for 4 on the sides, and even one in the corner. I asked the hostess for another, quieter, appropriately-sized table. She took us to a table for 4...sandwiched between a loud party of 20 and the busing station. She couldn't care. Very disappointing"

The pork pieces weren't but flavorful and the filet mingnon was to die for. There were gaps in meat offerings. I suggest they time the servings a bit tighter. "I especially enjoyed the salad buffet part of our dinner. Fresh and a great selection. I also really liked the salmon and vegetables. I felt that we were really being rushed thru dinner, though. We met some friends for a drink at 6:30 and had a 7:00 reservation. They pushed us to our table at 6:45 and we really just wanted to visit with our friends first. Even though I didn't turn my card over to tell them that I was ready for the meat part of the dinner, they kept coming around and asking what I wanted. We would have had a nicer dinner if they had just let us relax a bit."

"The food was good however the gauchos took forever to get to our table so we had to ask our waiter to get the gauchos to come to our table. Overall it was not bad but once it gets busy, the service gets slow. Maybe have couple more servers would be good. "My wife and I just spent our anniversary there for dinner. We never had Brazilian BBQ before and this was a really great experience. We sampled from the salad bar and piled our plates with different tastes and that was awesome. However, I will be reducing my consumption of random flavors next time and focusing on the been stew, rice and the meat. The skirt steak was our favorite. Very tasty. The bread was also memorable, and a welcome reminder to come back again."

"I had to keep asking my waiter for refills. Also it took a very long time to get any meat brought to our table. By the time we did get service we where all full of salad. Paying 50 dollars per plate for salad is not something I like. Also my friend who was with us was charged triple his meal. They still haven't fixed this. My over all exaperiance was bad."

"We went with a large group on Sunday and the food was great this time. We loved the lamb chops, which they didn't have last time we were here on a Thursday. Would highly recommend this place, on the weekday nights there seems to be less selection."

"I love my experience but I don't think there was a lot of variety of meats we had to ask for lamb and salmon and it took about 15 minutes to get it, apparently there wasn't any cooked, we had plenty of skirt top sirloin, sausage, chicken legs, chicken wrapped in bacon and some sort of ribs and filet wrapped in bacon. When we got our lamb chops and the shank there were delicious. In my opinion the restaurant Agora is nicer than Green Field in Long Beach, but Green Field has more and better selection of meats."

"Went for a late Valentines day dinner on Friday (instead of Thursday) and had a great time. Very fun environment, the service was good, and the food was good. We are foodies and LOVE a great steak, the meat here was good - not mind-blowing, but good.A great place for a fun date night."

"Our waiter never paid any attention to us we asked for a soda mid dinner and he offered to bring our check, 30 nins after we asked for the soda, I had to remind him I had ordered a soda. Didnt offer us a clean plate till we were completely done with dinner. Honestly a waste of money the food was just ok at best, the service was horrible . I will never go to another place like this that isn't Fogo De Chao"
