"There were six of us for a mini-reunion. Two came late but there was no problem with that. The staff was friendlier than family. They made us feel comfortable and glad we were there. I have special dietary restrictions and FSS was happy to accommodate each request. I had the salmon, which was so, so good. Others had crab cakes, lamb, and large salads. All were excellent. very tasty. You should make it a point to eat here once. I guarantee you will return."

"Food was excellent, but the atmosphere was much more casual than I remember, and prices are on the higher side. Blackboard specials are difficult to read due to dimly lit dining area - should be on printed page. Confusing wine policy - full bar, but people around us were bringing in wine - both small and gigantic bolltes. We were told that you can bring in a small bottle, for a $10 corkage fee - this would have been nice to know ahead of time, but it should be enforced as well. Next table over brought a 1.5L bottle for 2 people."

"Friday, Saturday, Sunday is a great restaurant. Been here several times and always a dining treat. Had the whole Cornish hen for the first time, and it was tasty, juicy and succulent with crisp skin, with a great sausage stuffing. And the mushroom soup is not to be missed. My dining partners started with the five leaf goat cheese salad and the pate - both great, followed by the roast duck and pork chop -- both were excellent. This is a great restaurant and one that we keep coming back to -- either for a quick meal before a play or concert, or a quiet, great dining experience."

"We chose Friday Saturday Sunday for it's proximity to the concert venue that we would be visiting.
From the beginning we were impressed with the level of service, having arrived just prior to opening. We ordered our wines by the glass, I, the Bordeaux, my Wife, the pinot Noir, both. good choices.
For appetizers, I chose the Pate Maison, my wife's choice was the Pan-seared Chilled Ahi Tuna. Both were excellent though, she felt, the wasabi vinaigrette was a bit strong.
Entree's were Slow Roasted Duck for me, and the Roasted Rack of Australian Lamb, med rare for her. Very enjoyable.
The deserts, once again, did not disappoint, we chose the Gran Marnier Creme Brulee and Double Chocolate Layer Cake.
We will be returning to FriSatSun again!"

"FSS is a place with a heart and a soul--we went there most recently for the annual Philly Dining Out for Life, which FSS has particpated in since its founding 20+ years ago. This visit was my 4th this month, and I have been eating here since the place opnened in the 1970s. It is my favorite restaurant, and one of Philly's best: reasonably priced, consistently high quality food, affordable wine list, great drinks, and a wonderful staff. I can't recommend it highly enough."

"I have eaten here twice in a week for birthday dinners--two very different friends in terms of background and personality. Everybody loved their dinners in every way. Greg is the best restaurant bartender in the city. You can't be beat FSS for quality and price of food. I have been eating here since they opening in the 70s--it remains my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. Given the number of other restaurnats that have come and gone, FSS's staying power speaks volumes, especially for a place that is tucked away off the beaten path. This is a 6 star restauarnt in every way!"

"This is a real gem in every way . We found it through tripadvisor and the experience was even better than we expected. It is small, intimate, and romantic, with a colorful hip vibe . The food was terrific-the mushroom soup lived up to all the rave reviews and my horseradish Panko tilapia in a cilantro buerre blanc sauce was fabulous. My husband loved the lamb shank and we shared a perfect Creme brulee. But making this a truly memorable evening was the staff, especially Dan, who managed to take very good care of us while also making us laugh and have so much fun. We felt like neighborhood regulars. No doubt that we will be eating here on our next visit. A special meal and evening"

"Six of us ate at FSS recently, 4 were newbies. The food was great from start to finish. This is a place that we all know we will visit again. The wait staff was wonderful. They were friendly, helpful and knew the menu. Their food is consistently delelicious. The mushroom soup was to die for. Pork chop was just right with an unbelievably lovely sauce. Two people loved the lamb shank, two had duck. The sides were yummy. The portions are generous but we enjoyed the food so much that their were no doggie bags."

"Friday Saturday Sunday just keeps on providing the quality food and service that has been its standard for the past 40 years. A perfectly braised lamb shank on a bed of creamy but not runny mashed potatoes, more than enough for two of us, and the blueberry bread pudding with whiskey creme anglais for dessert, were just two of the many pleasures of the evening. We were there early Sunday evening (5PM), and so had the benefit of a relatively empty dining room and wonderfully attentive service."

"Friday, Saturday, Sunday is the most underrated (by the critics who ignore it) terrific restaurant in downtown Philly. The mushroom soup is their classic and is absolutely the best I have eaten anywhere. The tilapia, another staple, is always yummy. The food is consistently delicious, with an atmosphere that is warm and friendly and conducive to intimate conversation. The food is not French, but the feel is like a bistro. Highly recommended."
