Local Bistro + Bar
Local Bistro celebrates the flavors of Italy, France and Spain. We are a casual, family-friendly modern bistro focused on preparing traditional dishes with a minimalistic and straightforward approach. Local Bistro’s menu offers a vast array of European classics that range from handmade pastas, wood-burning Neapolitan-style pizzas, chops, steaks, salads and seafood. "The food was excellent. Every dish was better than the previous one. They had a special, which one of my party tried to order, but they were out at 7pm. Very posh decor. Loved the look. But... We were served our entrees before we finished our appetizers. Besides being rushed through the meal, the noise level was so loud out party had a tough time talking. It was somewhat disappointing because the food was so great, and I really could have relaxed a little but we were rushed out. I feel that, if I'm going to spend a few hundred bucks on dinner with my family, we shouldn't have to scarf it down and fell grossed out."

"Make sure you get a patio table because inside is so loud you cannot hear across a two person table. Granted it was Saturday night prime time but with the bare floors and high ceilings it rises to uncomfortable noise level.
On a better note, the food was great! Carpacchio was tasty as well as the ravioli special. The tuna nicoise was good but I was told there were green beans in the salad and there were none.
Overall impression was we would return but not for dinner on a weekend night."

"Agreed to meet a friend here for lunch. Made reservations which was NOT necessary if going mid-week at the time they open. The waiter sat us outside, and fanned open the long red drapes to shield us from the summer sun. It would have been impossible to eat outside without the shading. Our Tuscan Salads were fresh, and tasty. A great combo of ingredients! Loved it! A complementary dessert-to-share was a thoughtful touch presented by our waiter. A wonderful dining experience."

"The interior of the restaurant is very pretty and lively but the noise level was so high we could not wait to get outside. There is a small outdoor seating patio right off the parking lot. There were some pretty curtains to break up the look of lot, but you knew it was there.
Our Waiter quickly took drink orders and explained the specials. Bread and water promptly served ands just a short wait for entrees. Due to" fussiness," were somewhat difficult to eat. Roast chicken beautiful looking but quite bland.
The above is is just one person's opinion. We dine out often and my favorites include places where we can converse without shouting, have more room between tables, and where I don't have to struggle with my food."

"our "go to" restaurant. We were let down last visit. Our waitress seemed too busy. 10 minutes for her to say Hi and even longer to bring our bottle of wine. Salmon is my favorite. I had it grilled salmon, my husband - pasta special with salmon. I left half on my plate. The consistency was mushy. Same with my husband's. One of the cooks came into the dining area and stopped at some of tables. When he got to our table, (un-eaten salmon was on my plate, silverwear across it (signaling I was DONE). He asked how everything was, I shrugged and said "so so". He smiled, walked away. When our waitress removed our plates, she asked about a box, I told her "no" it wasn't good. No response. We had guests and were embarrassed."

"Never a bad meal - you'll love the roasted chicken. Not the type of dish you'd expect to find here, but it's moist, tender, and delicious. And, there is enough for 2 - I always take home half for lunch the next day. Service is always superb. Highly recommend."

"I hadn't been to Locals for a while but had a friend in town and thought it would be a good spot. I was right! We were seated outdoors on a great evening and the food was great. Started with the drunken bread as all the reviews recommend - they were not wrong. I had the duck risotto and my friend had the salmon. Both large portions and perfectly done. Have to remember that this gem is nearby and need to try more items on the menu. Everytime I go, I try something different but there are a lot more things to try!"

"Brought friends who had never tried the restaurant, and they are now also fans. There are several dishes here we really, really like, and they're always just as good as the first time. Favorites include the risottos, the bolognese, the fusilli with clams & chorizo, the arugula salad and most of the appetizers. The specials are also good bets. The server knew it was the first time there for the other couple, and she brought us a dessert to share to thank them for trying the restaurant. A very nice touch! We'll be back, and I'm pretty sure our friends will be too! She works in downtown Phx, so intends to try Central Bistro too."

"As always, the food and service were terrific. Our server was very attentive and friendly which seems to be the way all the personel at Local Bistro act. We started with an arugula salad which was delicious. My husband had the chicken parmesan and I had the grilled shrimp over a bed of lemongrass risotto. The only suggestion I would have for the four gigantic shrimp would be a little more seasoning."

"A super all-around restaurant! Great young vibe, the food is awesome, the service is outstanding! You feel like you are in a city (ie. Chicago) restaurant instead of a strip mall setting. Truly one wonderful place. Fresh tasting, specially created yummy food.

"This was our first outing to Local Bistro and we're planning another trip there very soon. Had such a hard time trying to decide which of the wonderful entrees to order. "Always wanted to eat here, but without reservations it is nearly impossible.However,we made reservations and took friends to dinne. The place was packed. It was very loud and difficult to have conversation. The menu had something for everyone. I chose the arugula salad and the farro pasta with pomodoro suace and added prawns. Others in our party had butternut squash ravioli and risoto. Service was fine, but a bit slow. The bread was non-descript restaurant white bread. Salads were fresh and slightly underdressed. My pasta and sauce were without much taste (few tomato chuncks) and the grilled prawns were slightly over-cooked and a bit dry.Had to ask the waiter for salt in an attempt to add flavor.Will give them another try. Underwhelmed!"
