"Our food was not as good this time as it has been in the past, maybe b/c it was a busy Father's Day. The crab dip tasted like it was missing something and the salads had too much dressing on them. The prime rib sandwich was awesome though! We didn't have to wait long for our appetizer, salads & kids entrees but then it took forever for our entrees to come so the kids were pretty restless by then. Service was still great even though it was a busy Sunday."

"The menu is large enough to accommodate almost any taste. They have good happy hour deals on entrees and wine throughout the week. Definitely nothing special, but it was very good. It's all reasonably priced, and it's a great option for when cooking at home is too much. We'll be back"

"The Village Tavern is definitely a step or 3 above your run of the mill steak house. Appetizers were both unique and flavorful with a plating that enhanced the choice and not mere decoration. Even the salads were more then the usual 2 choices most places offer. The menu had a variety of choices from steak to pasta to fish as well as lighter fare such as prime rib sandwich or burgers. the crowning achievement was in the deserts. EXCELLENT does not go far enough, taste, design, portion size... This is an all around pleasurable dining experience."

"My wife checked in for our Open Table reservation while I parked. We then watched people arriving after us being seated. I checked with the hostess to get an update and was rudely told we hadn't been seated because we hadn't checked in. She then admitted they erroneously seated another couple with our reservation. Once seated, we ordered cocktails that were slow to arrive and when they did, were badly watered down from melted ice. Our entrees of Madeira Filet and Blackened Shrimp & Grouper were both outstanding. Our server while nice, seemed overwhelmed. We asked for bread that never did arrive. The food was very good and that’s the main reason you go to a restaurant I suppose, but the overall experience could certainly have been better."

"I love dining here for lunch because they really cater to the fact you have an hour, but realize you want quality food at the same time. Village Tavern will do both! I personally love the Prime Rib Sandwich. Delicious!"

"Overall, very good. We decided to eat on the patio. It was a very nice day. Everything about the patio was nice except one thing, which I suppose we should have changed.
It was fairly crowded and the only table available was one in front of a large floor fan which was turned up on high. It was really not that warm and the fan was really not needed. it blew continuously on 1/2 of our table. This made it unpleasant."

"We selected Village Tavern because of sentimental reasons as we were celebrating our wedding Anniversary. Even having made reservations, we were seated at the first booth next to the hostess station. The noise level from the bar area was loud. We asked if there was a more intimate table and were given the choice of the booth across the aisle. We explained, very nicely, that it was our Anniversary and asked if there was anything a little more intimate. We were told no. The Manager appeared and we asked him the same question. I was told,"I am a busy man, if you want to walk around the restaurant and check for yourself, be my guest." and he walked away. We left and had a delightful dinner at Vinny's on Windward with complimentary wine."

"Took my Mrs. and my Dear Mother to VT for Mother's Day dinner. Had to get reservations well in advance as it is always packed for MD brunch and dinner...same this year. Plenty of great choices from the gluten-free menu as well as the regular menu. Brought our two boys and they had the usual suspects kids eat; chicken fingers, Mac n cheese, plenty of fruit, etc. Something on the menu for everyone, including several great dessert options.
Noise was as expected, food was great as always and service was as good as it gets. We had Dutch as our waiter, but there were two others who were helping in the area and were very accommodating. Dutch was always there when needed and visited at the right times. Excellent experience overall."

"It's a good thing we eat here often, because our experience was both good and bad this time around. I ordered Prime Rib cooked medium rare and my wife ordered a hamburger cooked medium. When the food arrived, my Prime Rib was cooked to the well side of medium and my wife's burger was well done. To make matters worse, the kitchen had left on some of the separating paper on her hamburger during cooking that made it to the table. That being said, our waitress jumped right on it as well as got the manager over quickly to assess the situation. They went above and beyond to take care of things and get corrected. I applaud the excellent customer service and the corrected food was fantastic."

"Had lunch there with a friend recently. The place was jammed which is a good sign. I like the interior design -- hip but relaxed and comfortable. The service was very good. However, I am a foodie and the food was just OK and not very unique by my standards. I had the fish tacos which were not memorable. My guest had the salmon which reminded me of a business conference luncheon -- a piece of fish, green beans, and rice. It was not a bad experience, just average. I will give them another try in the future."

"We have been going to Village Tavern for several years now and have always had wonderful service and great food. This time we chose VT b/c we had a handicapped guest and the parking and floor plan made it easy and safe for her. Highly recommend this place!"

"Made a reservation for Friday night, reservation was not ready for nearly 20 mins - Our immediate reaction to the restaurant was that it was very loud. Server was very attentive, but food was not prepared well, little taste ( fillet) and veg served cold. We were not impressed. We were surprised because the place is always packed and hard to get into. We attributed the problems to a very busy Friday night and maybe they were simply to busy to prepare things well. We also felt that the management of the restaurant could have been the problem with all of this - just didn't feel professional. Will be a long time before we try this place again, too many other quality places close by."

"During the week, this is a heavy business person dinner crowd which influences the atmosphere some. We took our family to celebrate an anniversary and were treated very warmly by the wait staff. The food was good, but beef selections were at a quality slightly below the prices charged. Overall satisfying but not spectacular."

"On my second visit, we could not have been treated better. Dutch, our waiter, was very informative about the gluten free menu items and the wine, made us feel like our happiness was very important to him and the house. We loved the spaghetti squash veggie gluten free plate. We will definitely go back. The Open table reservation was very important as the place was very busy even at 6:30 on a Tueaday."

"Always exceptional for brunch, and they now have NEW items for brunch!! I almost wish they would do a breakfast buffet so I could try EVERYTHING, but I settled for my standard Shrimp & Grits, which is always good, provided it's served piping HOT. My brunch companion tried the new Broccoli Quiche and said it was excellent. The coffee is always very good, and the service was attentive and friendly."

"I came to Village Tavern with my manager and 5 other team members for lunch to check out your restaurant for possible future business meetings for our Executives and other team members from our company.
These are the problems I encountered:

1. Ordered special of the day (Filet Sandwich w/fries), but I asked to substitute fries for sauteed spinach and no green peppers on my sandwich. Everyone was served their lunch promptly and I was not served. Well I found out that the waitress did not put in my request for sauteed spinach which delayed me being served and my sandwich was covered with green peppers which I had requested not to have. Therefore, they had to redo my order which took more time and it was very rushed with no seasonings."
