Gala Steakhouse and Bistro
Gala Steakhouse and Bistro is warm & inviting restaurant located inside The Orchards Hotel in lovely Williamstown Massachusetts in the heart of The Berkshires. With it’s not often found blend of classic and contemporary cuisine Gala offers something for everyone. Since becoming Gala in 2006 the restaurant has been reinvented to provide an experience not easily rivaled. Gala boasts an elegant dining room with breathtaking views of it’s adjacent courtyard. The menu, created by Executive Chef Chris Bonnivier, satisfies both the casual and formal diner by offering dishes such as Coq au Vin and Lobster Mac & Cheese in the winter season and Softshell Crab and Grilled Swordfish in the summer.

"While the staff was sweet and had good intentions, we did not have a good overall experience. The food took an extremely long time to come out. When it did, it was very bland. The lamb chops had no seasoning or flavor. We asked for medium, but my portion was rare and my wife's was charred and well overdone."

"Having never stayed at The Orchards before, we were very pleasantly surprised by Gala. The food was delicious, ample and beautifully presented. It was the sort of meal you'd expect at an upscale Manhattan restaurant."

"Everything about it was outstanding, from the little 'extras' provided gratis at the beginning and ending of the meal, to the very reasonable prices for the quality and presentation of the food. We ate in the bar/bistro area which was OK (a little noisy as one might expect in a bar atmosphere) but with nicely subdued lighting and classy furniture arrangements in the eating area. Next time we'll try the actual dining room."

"Nice place, but the food could be better.
The foie gras appetizer was delicious, but was the smallest piece of foie gras I've ever had.
The short ribs main course, a special for the evening, looked and tasted as if it had been sitting around for quite a while."
