"It's a great looking spot, but even with seating in the far back the noise level is too high to have any sort of decent conversation. Middle of the week on a Tuesday night with it mostly open it still took a long time before anyone at the bar would make a drink, and then even longer to get the food. Portions were very small for the cost and lacked any sides, I could have a steak at any number of other resturants in the area for the amount I paid for what I ordered.
Come for the decor but don't spend any money on the food or drinks."

"The Hurricane club was really fun. The ambience was nice and the food was delicious. The food came in small portions, so i ordered a lot of different dishes. The watermelon drink was one of the best parts of the night, but warning its very strong. The service was good, no complaints in that department. Overall i had a blast and I would definitely come back."

"This was my second visit to the Hurricane Club. The first time I enjoyed the drinks and food but was there with just one person. This time I took a group of friends and felt somewhat embarrassed for bringing them here. The server was not attentive and the drinks were not good - too sweet, not enough alcohol, and too pricey. The food is also expensive, not very flavorful, and they give you tiny portions. Nothing to satisfy if you're hungry. This place is just really about the scene, which is also tired and stale. With more to explore in NYC this won't be high on my return visit or recommendation list."

"Really fun evening. Great bar scene although a bit difficult to fight for the bartenders' attention. Greet and wait staff are very friendly and obliging. Crowd scene is vibrant and well heeled. Food was frankly better than expected. We tried a variety of different stuff in clouding dim sum, sushi and one of their steaks - all really good. Will certainly go back."

"It was a wonderful at at the Hurricane Club, I've been here a few times and i had to come back because a friend of mines came in town and wanted to go to a very upscale restaurant.
The food was really good but 2 of my friends disliked their food and thought the portion for the price for the their meal was very small.

"Limited Selection of Sushi, with lots of sauces -- not optimal. Rock Shrimp with walnuts was too too sweet and to much predding on the rock shrimp. Cocoanut shrimp is bland, too creamy and a tiny portion. Space is beautiful, but room to the left is very basic and lighting is bad.
A bit too showy -- better for tourists and visitors than locals. Might give it another shot if in the neighborhood, but Sushi Samba is right nearby."

"This place is very impressive when you walk through the door. Awesome ambiance which proved to be a fun place for our group. We got the giant watermelon drink to share which probably isn't worth the $50 price tag, but still unique and something to get once. Our food was very mediocre for the price tag and portions were small. Bottom line: this is a fun place with awesome ambiance good for a group of people, but don't expect to be wowed by the food whatsoever."

"some of the food did not look like the ones in the pictures on yelp. The large sampler for four is smaller than I anticpated and the coconut rice is very small like individual sized. The Crispy Pork was not crispy at all because there was no skin on the meat. We were serveddices of pork meat the size of dices literally. I would say this place is more for drinking and appitizer not really a full on dine in experince like you would get at a steakhouse or Italian restaurant."

"fabulous! the service and food were wonderful! There were three of us there celebrating a milestone birthday, we had lots of fruity drinks which were made to perfect, shared a PuPu Platter for three (they will customize to your group size), edamame, three different sushi rolls (don't get the Hurricane Roll- terrible taste) and the Cashew Chicken with Coconut Rice! wow! everything was fantastic except the Hurricane Roll. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a very fun, lively atmosphere."

The staff did not always follow up on our table. Hence we ordered two drinks at the time and we were fine. Cool consept with a lively bar and dj that played such a cool mix of new and old songs made a superb atmosphere! Only shame is that they closed around 1 oclok. "I made a reservation at this place because someone told me its cute and decent. I went along and invited 6 people for dinner at my boyfriend's bday party.
The reservation was for 6:30. We got sitted right on time and the place is very pretty. The service was fast or way too fast since they were taking the plates from us with food on them. After 1 hour dinner and $1000 bill for 6 people, a less than mediocre food and watered down drinks the hostess came to tell us to leave because she has another reservation for that table. WHAT? I just dropped $1000 and you throw me out?! This is insane and I will never go back and if I would have a possibility to give them less than no stars I would.
Insanely expensive for the quality it offers."

"cool location, good food,
very noisy and loud music in background, not that easy to talk normal to each other,
a bit too fast service, by clear away plates and food (we were'nt finished with eating)
also I got my menue and by boyfriend didn't at same time, was a bit a bummer!
but friendly service!

"Had the pork appetizer, and it was wonderful as usual. Then had the lobster pasta for entree, didn't enjoy that nearly as much. There's something about the sauce that is lacking. I picked out the lobster and ate that and my friends' fried shrimp."

"Was told only a 6:30 or 9:30 reservation was available but when we were seated at 6:30 we watched about a dozen empty tables for the two hrs we were there. I hate being lied to. Overall the place is mostly about flash rather than substance. Overpriced drinks were put in fun glasses but mediocre flavor. Service was fine but quality of food lacked depth. Again mostly visually pleasing but not much for flavor."

"We went there purely because we were staying across the road and were amazed with what we found! Food was great, cocktails amazing, though not very alcoholic. The #77 served in a coconut was great - I had 3! Peking pork was delicious, and the lobster noodles were filling and tasty. We were wishing we hadn't eaten so much earlier in the day. Service was exceptional. The only thing was that they asked us to leave our table because they had booked it for a later booking so couldn't stay and relax to finish our cocktails. We were asked to move to the bar, where we had to stand but they comped us a cocktail each for the inconvenience. Atmosphere is loud but cool music and the place is buzzing with people socializing."

"I had been wanting to try the Hurricane Club for quite some time, I had heard good things from friends that had been and I loved the idea of a swanky polynesian restaurant. Upon arrival, I loved the decor of the restaurant, and the cocktails were delish, but the food left us wanting. I ordered the walnut shrimp, a house specialty, and am sorry to say that the quality was comparable to my local chineese takeout place. For the same prices, both my husband and I felt we could have gone to Mr. Chow or Buddakan and had much better meals. I might go back to have a drink with my girlfriends before a night out, but next time, I will skip the food..."

"I went to the Hurricane Club with my husband for dinner while celebrating my birthday in the city. It was a recommendation (top recommendation at that) from a friend of a friend who lives in the city. It was the best place we went to all weekend!!! If you want a hip club feel restaurant, without having the actual club, this is it!!!! This weekend I'm going back for a girls weekend, and I'm definitely taking my girls there!!! The drinks were awesome, strong and very tasty. The food was really good, fusion, but with a wonderful taste and presentation. Best place!!!"
