"If you haven't been to Le Rendez-vous you are missing out. We recently took some friends there and they could not believe that they had never been there before. It is truly a hidden gem of a restaurant in Tucson. We are big fans. The recent changes with the Bistro aspect being added with the addition of a "small plate" menu is interesting. We all tired different small plates and a full list of entrees... very tasty. The wine was great and the 20 year old Port was so nice. If you don't order a souffle for desert, you are missing out. We highly recommend Les Rendez-vous!"

"Food was excellent--hard to find a true French restaurant in Tucson. Veal medallions and vegetarian special of the night (risotto) both excellent. Fabulous salads as well. I look forward to returning to try the Chateaubriand for two in the near future. Service was outstanding, staff very attentive, best ever in my experience in Tucson, from the owner, to the busboys, to the waitress, to the chef (who stopped by). Simple example--ordered coffee, left the table for a minute, the waitress approached with coffee, decided to hold off until my return, was back with the coffee (freshly made by the way) the second I sat down. And, no, I am not related to anyone at the restaurant; it was simply an excellent dining experience."

"Le Rendez-Vous was a place I've wanted to try since I moved to Tucson. As a recipient of a French degree from UofA, I'm always excited for a chance to use my knowledge and to explore the French culture a little bit more. My time at Le Rendez-Vous was good, but not as stellar as it could have been. Our server, Raymond (I believe that was name) was fantastique! He was knowledgeable, patient and helpful. He even tried to talk my ill-prepared husband (he's never had French food) into trying something new without being snotty. Honestly, though, the service was the best part of the night. The food wasn't bad, but the side of potatoes was dry and my lobster was overcooked and not piping hot. The small plates, though, were fun and tasty!"

"We sat on the bistro side.
A server gave us wine we did not order, but I had to ask for my iced tea three times.
The table teeter-tottered on the saltillo tile floor.
Server did not know the details of the day's offerings.
The smushed French bread was ridiculous, it was like getting crusty pita bread. How are you supposed to spread butter or baked brie on crusts?
Baked brie was superb. My companion dispatched his coq au vin with relish. Green peppercorn steak was perfectly cooked, sauce excellent. But the asparagus was cold when it got to the table, and as it took 25+ minutes after the appetizers for our main course, no excuse."

"Nothing short of amazing. Great ambiance, whether you elect to dine in either the bistro area or the back room. Our dinner there was superb. The house salad was delectable as were the two main courses we ordered, which were fish and chicken. Their desserts are outstanding. Overall my wife and I found the entire experience of dining there to be outstanding and we plan on returning many more times, including their daily happy hour from 5-7 pm in the bistro area."

"Our party indulged in about 8 of the very affordable "small plates" bistro selections for lunch ($5.50/plate). Fun to get a smorgasbord of seafood and meat tastes--this is enough food for 3 -4 people. The seared salmon and the crab-stuffed shrimp were our favorites. The only thing that was not a knock-out was the pate. Surprisingly, It was bland and served too cold."

"This is -by far- the best restaurant in Tucson. If you love food and wine and want to "dine" then you must go to Le Rendez-vous. The unique "small plates" allow you to sample things like frog legs and hot salmon salad and the main menu with medalions of veal and duck montmoresy is timeless."

"On this, my first visit to this establishment, I used a Living Social discount, reserved through "Open Table," and, when I walked in, I was greeted by name! A great way to start! The servers were attentive but not obsequious, the food (yummy onion soup, salad, Coq au Vin and crème brulee) and wine portions were generous, the temperature of the wine, salad and hot foods was perfect, and all my requests were met with speed and grace. Other restaurants can learn a thing or two from Le Rendez-vous Bistro. Thanks to all for a great experience. I will return again to try more items on the modest, but interesting, menu."

"We went there full of hope that a revived menu and a new chef would do wonders. Alas, service was spotty, steak and fish were both overcooked, wine list was limited, and the waitress did not know a thing about wines.
There was typo in the menu in a French word. Not a big deal, but a symptom of the lack of detail observed at this establishment.
I have lived in France for a decade, so I know what real French food is like. It has nothing to do with what they serve at Le Rendezvous.
Not worth the money."

"We arrived at the reservtion time and were instantly seated. Large wine list presented with many by the glass choices and fairly priced. Service was friendly but not overbearing. Food was quite outstanding. Duck pate and escargot as appetizers were well prepared and very tasty. Entres were veal and beef wellington. Portions were generous and decicious.

"Delicious food, well presented and served hot - nice touch with the tableside warming table. Attentive but not intrusive service - Pricey but worth the money.
Bistro section was nearly full and would have been a bit noisy for our romantic anniversary tete-a-tete but the dining room was fine.

"This is a very charming, very French restaurant. The food was good, but traditional and too rich (cream, butter) and I really can't eat like this anymore. The good: mussels were terrific, and in a delicious sauce; the okay coconut cake was comp'd because it was my birthday. The bad: Wellington had not a speck of foie gras and the duxelles were overcooked; coq au vin was dull, chocolate cake was dry. Lovely room and atmosphere, though - would return just for drinks and appetizers."

"We usually go to Le Rendezvous during the week. This time we went on a Friday night just before a holiday weekend. It was very crowded and very noisy. I don't think they can do anything to change the noise level. We love the food, the service is always good and we also like the ambiance, on a week night. Skip Friday nights if you want a peaceful meal."

"Food was F A B U L O U S! Salmon the best ever (and we try it everywhere we go.)
The salads were terrific, as was the French onion soup.
The tables are a bit tight but it was made up for by the sound proofing. We loved that.
The Cabernet we chose was great.
And, you cannot beat the Crepes Suzette."

"I made reservation for my husband's birthday. After being seated and given menus, we were completely ignored while the staff hurried to clear tables to seat more people. I had to get up and ask for service. After being asked if we were ready for our salads, we waited 30 minutes to get them. The food was the saving grace here. It was phenomenal."

"The food, ambiance and service were all fabulous. It was sad, though, to have to be rushed away so soon after a 1:30 pm lunch. Next time, I must plan to arrive earlier. I'm used to dining European style--quite leisurely.

"We had a reservation and when we were seated at our table it was in a very noisy area, due partially to a large group next to us. Our first waiter acknowledged the noise level immediately. We asked if there was another available table and were taken to one, which was much better.
We haven't eaten at this restaurant in a couple of years but our meal that night was as excellent maybe better than we have ever had there. Our lovely waitress was very efficient and helpful, along with a personality that suited her position as waitress. A very good experience."

"This was a nice surprise. The restaurant is small which is nice. However, we had to move as the table where we were sitting was noisey. It is difficult to find a table that makes for easy conversation. Definitely sit at a table for 4 when there are only 2 of you. The food was of excellent quality. The menu had a good selection. Everything was prepared perfectly. Sauces are delicious. For was some table side service. Went for our anniversary and would definitely go again next year. The waitstaff was very pleasant and helpful."
