"We were a bit early for our reservation, but we were seated promptly. Our waiter was new to the restaurant and despite the early arrival and modest crowd, the service was a bit spotty. We waited a considerable time for water, our drink order was checked twice before our drinks arrived. My partner had the roasted tomato soup, a nightly specialty which seemed to take forever to arrive. Our wine, ordered by the glass, only arrived with about 2 bites of dinner left. Tony would have been disappointed with the performance. The young waiter was very friendly & pleasant, however needs some help in understanding the service aspect of the business."

"I book regularly. I have always been very pleased with the restaurant. Today I booked for 6 friends from work. The service was slow and disorganized. Food was extremely slow coming from the kitchen. I ordered soup to start and the Octopus as an entree. It felt like the kitchen missed and prepared the entree early and left it sitting for a half hour until the others were ready to be served. It was a disappointing experience."

"The food is excellent, well-presented - we especially enjoyed the ceasar salad, thin, crispy pizza, meatballs and parsnip fires. Our server was very attentive and knowledgable about the food and the wine. The atmosphere is cozy, we sat in a very comfortable boot. Music is not too loud which we really appreciate! WIne list is very good and reasonale prices.

"I have been to Paese before but this time I took my bestie after having purchasing a Travelzoo Voucher($59.00 for a 4 course menu for 2).
What a delight!! I was full after the second course. The options were great and very tasty.. I chose the meatball entree, the gnochi, the skirted steak and lemon olive oil cake. All delicious and perfect serving sizes..
We enjoyed a bottle of wine from their extensive wine list, which was a great suggestion by our super engaging server (I'm still not convinced that he's old enough to serve alcohol!!!)
Overall an excellent dining experience. And the Travelzoo deal was a total steal!!"

"In the group I was with one of the appetizers was not cooked all the way (meatballs) and had we known that was the way it was cooked we would not have ordered it. The dessert that was ordered (brie and cookie) was not tasty. The cheese was in fact a little too sour. "Went to Paese for the Winterlicious lunch last weekend. Some of our party showed up a bit late, but more than half was already seated and waiting. They ordered drinks and appetizers, but were told after some time by the manager/owner that they need to order Winterlicios because the kitchen closed at 3pm. Which we found quite rude, especially we ended up waiting on the server for a while once the whole group arrived.

"Ate lunch during winterlicious so special menu. 6 people seated quickly with a friendly welcome. Squash soup with a hint of nutmeg, salmon spiced right (maybe a little too much garlic) but hot off the grill and a amazing goat cheese cake, surprisingly light but rich taste. They have an extensive wine list which we took advantage of at the recommendation of the waiter, who picked out a nice Italian wine for $60 (lower end price on the menu). Everything was great. Service and food superb. Will definitely go back. Regular menu looked a little pricey in comparison to the normal lunch fare but the quality indicated from our meal, would show it is worth it, if you wanted something special."

"Serious problem with service. We arrived at noon for the Winterlicious menu... gave our orders by 12:15 with no substitutions and didn't have our entrees until 1:15. Never mind that we had mentioned that we needed to get back to work. An hour to make a pizza, two frittatas and grill a piece of trout? Come on guys! Peking duck, maybe... but seriously. Had to take out dessert to go.. not impressed, won't be back."

"Decor was tasteful, space was limited (to be expected on Saturday night) Staff and Server were outstanding and very knowledgeable (blonde woman with Australian accent and sky blue eyes makes it easy to like) Food was up to par for the prices and the wine list is extensive for bottles, yet simple and concise if you just want it by the glass. Only down side was the fire alarm went off as I was about 80% thru my entree. Had to step outside until the fire marshal gave the all clear but by that time I had to leave with my date to catch our show at Second City. Did not receive dessert as paid for in the Winterlicious Special. Fire alarm was no fault of Paese, however so sort of compensation would have been nice"

"My introduction to Paese was memorable. Our server, Natasha, a recent visitor from Australia was charming, knowledgeable and patient! We asked a lot of questions and she graciously offered an answer for each. Our winterlicious menu was unique, in that, Paese did not appear to worry about their food cost; rather they were eager to ensure a customer experience was created. They achieved their objective.

"This was my second time for lunch at Paese, both times did not disappoint. One of these days I will have to pop in for Dinner looking forward to seeing what the Dinner menu has to offer. I would certainly recommend to friends and colleagues. Clean, fairly quite and the wait staff polite, friendly and gives you your space.."
