"My friend and I visited this restaurant on an overnight trip to Philadelphia. We enjoyed it immensely. We thought the Tapas were better than we have had to eat at a well known NYC resttaurant. The front room and bar were very lively after 8PM. The back room where we ate was quieter and to my view had a warmer ambience. We thought it was perfect for the casual kind of dining experience it was. Don't miss the jambon salad it was terrific. We also thought that it was fairly priced for the quality of the food. Our bill with a bottle of wine and tip was $95.00."

"Overall, we truly enjoyed Amada. We had the tasting menu (middle price), which was great. My favorite dishes included garlic shrimp, the mushrooms, and the cheese plate. My husband's favorite was the lamb chops and the grilled shrimp. We also both enjoyed the beef shortrib flatbread and the beef with the goat cheese mousse. My one critique would be regarding our service - though the various busboys brought the tasting dishes promptly and efficiently, once our meal was completed, it took a long time for our server to check in to see if we wanted dessert, to bring us the check, and to take our payment. It had gotten busier in the restaurant at that time, but it was still frustrating."

"Went there hoping to see Chef Garces....did not get to see the newest Iron Chef. Chose the $65 per person chef's choice tapas-was not dissapointed. Food was fantastic, great looking bar scene and has a great location. Would not hesitate to recommend-just bring some spending money, my bill was $190 (including tip) for the tapas, one glass of sangra, and a shared dessert (would HIGHLY recommend the fried ice cream)."

"I had high expectations for this place considering all of the recent acclaim that Chef Garces has received. I was not let down at all. The experience was amazing. The food was incredible, from the aged manchego cheese, to the flatbreads, the lamb meatballs, and the sirloin. It was one incredible bite after another. I'm looking forward to one day getting a group together to order the roasted pig. Favorite place in the city, hands down."

"Food was WONDERFUL! Their grilled octopus was amazingly tender and so simply prepared, it was a delightful flavorful surprise. I wouldnt order the steak (sirloin), nothing to take home to mom... in particular when the mushroom, stuffed piquillo peppers and the lamb chops made you beg for more (assuming you have room to pack it all in!). We definitely did not heed Harrison's warning - the "chef's choice" pairing, is LOADED with food, and if he tells you to "pace yourself" - by all means, listen! You will not leave hungry! The flatbreads are delightful and the peach napoleon, a fine ending to a wonderful meal. We are definitely Chef Garces fans!"

"We waited 3 weeks to get in, and it was well worth the wait. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, the service first-rate. The Chef's selection was amazing...approximately 15 dishes, each perfectly prepared, with a variety of meats, cheeses, seafood and vegetables. The wine list is wonderful, as is the beer selection.
It is a bit noisy in the restaurant, but not to the point that we could not talk. Overall, a marvelous dining experience."

"The food is spectacular, about the best you'll find in an atmosphere this relaxed. Our waiter was helpful in making sugggestions, although one dish we ordered never came. (Nor were we charged for it, nor could we have eaten much of it had it come, as we'd essentially ordered too much.)
Expect to order 5-7 dishes for two people, and to spend upwards of a $100 for the equivalent of a three course meal. But it's all well worth it."

"We went for restaurant week, so ordered from their restaurant week menu. There were plenty of things for vegetarians, and others as well. The food was INCREDIBLE. Although it's tapas (small plates) we felt very full. We each got two appetizers, two entrees, and a dessert each. The server was friendly and answered all of our questions, the service was fast, and the atmosphere was fun, yet intimate. Also, their sangria is amazing, I tried a glass of each. The blanco was my favorite, but they are all delicious. Enjoy!"

"This place is amazing! True talent in the kitchen, and the atmosphere is gorgeous and the staff were all lovely. We went for Restaurant Week and it's a very generous menu for that. "We ate at the bar, which we prefer to the dining room. We were there for the special "restaurant week" menu so we were able to sample (4) appetizers, (4) entrees, and a dessert between the 2 of us. The food was brilliant! The flavors combined with the artful presentation is what makes Amada stand out for me. I wanted to get up and applaud as each little plate was set infront of us. Even on this unusually busy night, the service was seamless. Each course arrived as we had just finished the previous. There were no lags, nor did we feel like we were being rushed. Everything was delicious, but the ham croquettes and the crab stuffed peppers were stand outs. We had the chocolate lavendar custard dessert which was extraordinary!"

"From drinks to dessert, everything we had was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. My husband and I went during Restaurant Week, so between the two of us, we ordered 10 plates in all--four tapas dishes for the first course, four for the second and two desserts, which was more than satisfying. I could rave about each dish individually, but in our experience, the #1 standout was the Madre e Hijo because of both the mouthwatering flavors and the impossibly tender chicken--my husband actually declared it the best thing he ever ate. I can't wait to go back!"
