"In the heart of the busy Pine street scene in Long Beach...features a variety of meats and tapas cooked to perfection. Noted for a variety of Argentinian Malbec wines. Patio dining available as well as a distinctive interior. Smallish place....excellent for parties of 2-6 who don't want to shout over the next table as is so common in other places. Non-rushed 'European' style service.
A good find"

"For those of you unfamiliar with Central or South American chimichuri here's the place to try it. If you are a displaced South American you can get MATE here as well. I went for the beef Entrana which is a big piece of skirt of flank steak. The appetizer$6.95 of Sauteed Mushrooms with garlic and white wine pleased my friends who hate the drowned in butter version. I highly recommend this place if you are not in a hurry and want to add new culinary flavors to your palate."

"We visited this restaurant for a late Sunday lunch. We both had steaks and they were excellent. The portions were good and the service was very good. My waiter had me taste my wine before purchase, something that isn't done as much today. My steak was excellent no need for sauce and it was light, didn't bloat me as most steaks do after eating. A quality choice of meat. I recommend eating there especially late evening. Argentine atmosphere was great also."

"Outside dining was nice. Cool tables and chairs. It is noisy though b/c it's right on pine street. Good people watching. Inside is much more romantic if that's what you are looking for. I would go back."

"The decor and lighting were amazing. Its quite the romantic scene for couples. We went for a small group birthday and it was a great atmosphere. However, the waiters were not up to par in regards to quickness for a slow evening. Overall i'd give this place an 8 of 10. The food was phenomenal."

"Dont go for the martini's. Loved the pesto and bread! Rib eye great, short ribs tough. Great flavors. Slow service. All we want in any restaurant is for the server to say " I will be right with you " then we know we have been acknowledged. They mised that part of customer service! We ddnt sit outside, but that is a plus. Would we go back? No so much."

"My husband and I have eaten there twice and enjoyed both of our meals. We enjoy sitting outside where we can watch the people stroll by and enjoy a leisurely dinner. We have not eaten inside, but it seems a bit on the dark side. The food is quite good and reasonably priced. I like the grilled short ribs and my husband likes the chicken dishes. You get a choice of side dishes with your meal - everything from garlic mashed potatoes to sauteed spinach. The vegetables are crisp and not over cooked (which is a biggie for me). The service has been very good, and I would recommend this place."

"You can never go wrong with a lot of grilled meat and an alcohol. The food was very good, we ordered the short ribs, a few empenadas and a chicken dish that reminded me of schnitzel. The negative side of this place...we waited almost 10 minutes for a host to show up to the front, while 3 waiters walked by multiple times without acknowledging the multiple groups of people waiting there. Then our server, who was good, had too many tables assigned to him, so he was constantly running around trying to make every table in a timely manner."

"My wife and I went for our anniversary and planned to sit at a table, but we first went to the bar for a drink and ending up enjoying interacting with the bartenders and other staff, that we ended up eating at the bar! We had a couple of great steaks with chimichurri and a couple Mojitos made ro perfection. We will definitely go back there soon!"

"I drive from Northern California to Long Beach and dunes at Gaucho for the first time. It was such a pleasant experience from the minute we got there, during our meal, and even after we had paid, the staff was amazing. I truly recommend this place to anyone looking to try something new and fun."

"Loved everything about this restaurant - the food, the service, and the ambiance. I ordered a steak and my boyfriend had chicken and both were cooked very well. The interior of the restaurant was very welcoming and romantic. There was also outdoor seating and whether you choose to sit inside or outside, it's a really great date spot. The staff was very helpful and friendly and repeatedly asked us if they could be of any service. We had a great night and would definitely recommend Gaucho Grill to others."

"We really enjoyed the food and service at the Gaucho Grill. We were traveling with our kids from out of town, and they did not make us feel like second-class customers. They even had a kid's menu with the same quality of food as the adult menu. The Parillada was outstanding. Tables were a little close together, but that is my only suggestion for improvement."

"We had a wonderful evening at Gaucho Grill. The Argentinean food was perfect (the Argentinean in our group described the food as "heaven". The unique, cozy, enchanting ambience, live music, attentiveness of the wait staff, and food and wine were perfect. Great spot in downtown Long Beach and definitely deserving of a try from restaurant goers in LA and Orange Counties."

"I'm usually a fan of beef enpanadas but their chicken empanadas are to die for, even those in our party who are not fans of chicken loved them. The three times we have been there it has been great."

"Gaucho Grill was a great date place! The food was really good, and it was reasonably priced, especially given the quality of the food. The rolls and olive oil/cilantro (?) mix that came out prior to the main course being served were fantastic. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer. We really enjoyed it and look forward to returning!"

"the last two time we were there we LOVED the place. the food, the service. This 3rd time we took another couple who frequent there for lunch often. It was SUB PAR. first: the bread was Stale. We returned it. Cold and hard. Entree: my husband's steak was served rare when he asked for Med Rare. I had the short ribs which were great a few months ago...THIS meal? wow...ALL Fat. I even took a picture. I cut throw all sides and it was ALL fat. the breaded chicken was fair.
We asked if they changed the cook. Very saddened. apprehensive to try again as the price is quite expensive."

"I had Asado De Tira Argentinian famous grilled short ribs $18, the waiter said the short ribs were boneless and asked how I wanted the short ribs cook- rare, medium rare and so on. I picked medium rare and was very disappointed the ribs were flanken ribs with 3 bones not boneless like waiter said and the meat was cooked well done not medium rare and was tough. 2 flanken ribs, mashed potatoes and spinach for $18= rip off to me!"

"We went to Gaucho Grill for dinner for our fifth wedding anniversary. The restaurant is attractive and eclectic - how many places have cow hide walls? It's tucked into an space with a bar that dominates half the room. This isn't a problem as regards food or service, but we were sitting a few feet away from a couple in a passionate embrace; a bit awkward. The real reason you should try this restaurant is the excellent food and service. We had the Parillada specialty and could easily have fed a third person. The food comes to the table on a charcoal grill, adding to the ambiance. If you are a meat lover, you will be in heaven! All of the different meats were cooked excellently and the meat was moist. Give it a try."

"An awesome Valentine's dinner entre! Seabass was delicious as it was prepared in an almond crust. Dessert included a chocolate caramel tasting crepe - OMG. Enrique was our server and he was fantastic with just the right amount of attention - there when you wanted him but not annoying. Ambience was incredible with chic decor and they even provided some light musical entertainment as we were leaving. A must have dining experience."
