"We went there for a Mother's Day Brunch, and had reservations for 11:30am -- when the restaurant opened. We were a little tight on time, as some of the party needed to get to a show at 1pm. The restaurant was not ready to open or seat us until closer to 11:40am, at which point we were informed that the menus for the brunch still weren't printed so we couldn't order. It took another 10 minutes before we got menus. We finally ordered about 11:55am and the first food hit the table about 12:15pm, which just meant we were a little rushed eating.
Food itself was good, but nothing special."

"Very nice place, and nice people. But they served us a very very bad oyster that stunk so badly everyone could smell it. This made everyone ordering oysters uncomfortable about eating the others since the kitchen didn't seem to have noticed that one was that bad. The management was incredibly nice about this, but it made us feel less eager to return."

"We had reservations for Mother's Day lunch. A few of us sat at the bar, waiting for the party to arrive. There was one bartender there, a young lady. She didn't say HI, she actually asked "what do you want" when we said hello and then proceeded to take 30mins for our 3 drinks. When we tried to cancel the drinks, she said we had to pay for them. She then said, if you order drinks at your table, I'll have to make them so take the drinks. When I told her it took her 30 mins, she said, "I'm not a bartender." Why is she standing behind the bar and serving drinks? It totally set the whole lunch off on a bad start. Food was generic. Blackened swordfish was so salty, couldn't even have one bite. Didn't offer us the free Mother's Day truffle."

"Enjoyed our experience very much! They accommodated my family of 10 very well. Made my aunt and nephew feel special on their birthday by even placing their names on the menus! (Niece touch)! "We hadn't dined at M&S in over a year and it's changed significantly in that time. Gone is the daily menu with lots of fresh seafood selections- that menu was the primary reason we liked this restaurant. The menu has been cut drastically and only four items (salmon, swordfish, etc.) are available simply grilled. M&S is now owned by Landry's, so that may be the culprit here. The entire experience is good, but in Boston there are other places where the seafood is great!"

"We went with a large group (15 people) and M&S staff did a wonderful job of accomodating us at a large table and seating people as they arrived at different times, with no fuss. Servers were nice, and it is challenging to serve a large group, and I think they did well. However, some areas of disappointment were that I had to ask for bread/butter (we were sitting there for 15 minutes with nothing) and the servers were not always easy to get a hold of. They took our orders well, and food came in a good time. The food itself was alright - it was my first time there and I had higher expectations. It was alright. Overall they did a nice job of handling a large group in Boston (not easy to find) so I have to give them credit and thanks for that."

"We came for the Sunday 3-6 happy hour and notice that it was Easter and do not honor the happy hour. It is not posted on the table sign or anyway online. We were disappointed, but each 4 of us had drinks here. Overall, the waitress did not introduced herself and came to our table fews time with unfriendly tone and look."

"My party arrived for a late lunch. We were seated under the greeter's station. Throughout our lunch, we were distracted by the phone conversations above our heads and those between the restaurant staff. Our server was very nice and accommodating given the dietary concerns at our table. She was very willing to answer all of our questions and verify answers for those she did not know the answers to. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. We have eaten here many times for Restaurant Week and other times for lunch and dinner. When lunch finally arrived, the presentations on the plate were nice. There were a variety of entrees at the table. Everyone expressed their disappointment in each plate. We won't return any time soon."

"First impression, the host was horrible! He didn't engage with us at all and was way ahead of us when seating. He sat us down and just stood there and basically handed us the menus and didn't say two words. Our waitress came and we ordered clam chowder for our appetizer and proceeded to order our entree. 25 minutes go by and still no chowder, the hostess said she forgot to put the order in, but our entrees would be right out. My filet mignon was ordered medium-well and it was like eating charcoal. For dessert I ordered the Boston Cream Pie and it was dry as a bone, not moist at all. Sorry to say, but we should have stuck with Fleming's!"

"Host acted surprise when I told him I have a reservation, his reply, "Ohh really?"
Our waiter was uncomfortably awkward. The oysters were good, one of them my wife wasn't able to eat because it tasted bad and she had to spit it out. Our "Jumbo" shrimp cocktail was 5 large shrimp. Our new england clam chowder was good. My rainbow trout entree was all butter. All I tasted was butter."

"Really quiet, dark panelled restaurant. Went there for a nice dinner with family. Drinks menu was not on the table, drink I ordered was not able to be made, ingredients were not on hand. Waiter did suggest a drink for my son who does not drink soda products, he enjoyed it very much. Dinners were delicious and just enough food. For desserts, we each ordered one. My husband ordered the apple dessert and loved it! I ordered the fresh berries with gran marnier sauce with whipped cream, fruit was fresh and delicious, but unfortunately did not come to me with the gran marnier sauce, very disappointing. My son ordered the creme brulee, the sugar topping was burnt not nicely carmelized."

"Fabulous lunch, great service, great prices. I had the fish tacos and steamed mussels and the apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. The fish was better than perfectly cooked. The steamed mussels with in a butter, white wine and garlic sauce were excellent. The apple pie had an excellent crust with a walnut base and the cinnamon ice cream was surprisingly good. The ambience was relaxed and the service was perfect. This was a fully enjoyable lunch."

"Our server, Amanda, was a bit pushy and not friendly. She asked me to pass her the empty glasses vs her doing her job. She definitely tried to upsell in a very obvious way. Working in a restaurant myself, very noticeable. Seemed we were a group of 4 that she just wanted to receive a big tip and not include the service that is why most go out to dinner to receive. She was very quick with her words, and not thorough."

"It was a strange night at McCormick & Schmick. After making a reservation and arriving to find only three couples in the place, the host sat us opposite a terminal - probably one of the worst tables in the place. I ordered the Deluxe Mixed Grille and was told there were no scallops so I opted for the Mixed Grille which had the salmon and the shrimp. The waitress then came out and said that they did have scallops. We heard them saying in the kitchen that they were out of fish and chips. ???????? This was at 6:00 with no one in the place. The food, although good, was pricey. Thirty-two dollars for four shrimp, two scallops and probably 1 1/2 ounces of salmon is a bit too much, even for a restaurant of this quality and reputation"

"Went here with my girlfriend to celebrate a special occasions and we had an awful time. We sat at the table for over ten minutes before our server came over. The food was really amazing but the food portions were so small i felt riped off. The waiter never came in to check on us. She pretty much took the order then dropped off the check. Upon reviewing the check, the prices were marked up on the bill and were less on the menu. Thr small piece of mahi mahi on the menu was 24 but on the bill was 25 and the crab cakes were marked up too. Its not about the money just felt like i was cheated. Will never go back."
