Our full-service, student operated restaurant offers a varied, international cuisine with a modern American influence. We would love to share with you a laid back, relaxing lunch in our open dining room. Here our students, working directly under the supervision of our professional chefs, will provide you with an excellent meal and superior service. You will actually have an opportunity to see the students at work in the restaurant kitchen as well as view our pastry students as they create exciting new desserts and pastries in their open lab. You as our Guest are also are able to be part of the education process here at the Culinary Institute of Platt College as you will be grading the students on their performance and level of skills presented. What better way to spend your Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunches than, to not only enjoy some great cuisine, but to also help shape tomorrow’s chefs.
"Foundations is a restaurant run by the culinary school at Platt College so I really enjoy supporting their efforts. Fortunately you are then rewarded by eating their wonderful food at incredibly reasonable prices.
A 4-course dinner along with a sizable Foie Gras Crostini amuse bouche for $24 is an amazing deal. The quality of the products used, the cooking and the presentation of the plates are all top notch."

"I would have given the food 4.5 stars, but since that was not available, I felt it was closer to five than four stars. Very good. We ordered from the dinner menu. The only thing I wasn't real crazy about was the lemon blueberry trifle (which was actually served as lemon-strawberry). It was a little too tart for my taste and simply didn't stand out the way the other foods did. However, everything else our group tried was very good. We tried various dishes and tasted each other's, since it was the first time we had tried this restaurant. The stuffed portabella mushroom was "to die for", and so was the bone-in pork chop. The service was also outstanding. We also enjoyed the samples of new items they brought out to our table to try."

"Great opportunity to have a very nice dinner while helping aspiring Chefs learn their trade in a real world enviroment. Good food, good service, and a good price. I strongly recommend eating here if you havent already. They do an awesome job. and the deserts are just out of this world. I will be back."

"The lamb was very good. The last couple of times we have found their cake slices to be dry. Not sure if they are over baked or have just sit out too long."

"Wonderful experience. Only one very minor complaint...kosher salt on scallops and salmon was a little too coarse...really wasn't over seasoned, just bit down on a piece of salt sometimes on these 2 dishes.
Salmon was melt-in-your mouth awesome!"

"First of all, I have to say, it was COLD in there. My friend and I did not take off our coats through the meal, and that's a big minus. This was my second time dining here and enjoyed it again. The wine was superb--something not on the menu which was suggested. I had scallops as an appetizer, arugula salad, bell pepper soup, pork tenderloin, and carrot cake. The highlights were the scallops and carrot cake, though the tenderloin was also quite good, and the soup was tasty--kind of an interesting mixture. Both times I've come we had the 5-course meal (you can choose how many courses you want). I would like to come here sometime and just have dessert and wine or coffee, which I think you can do, also. Just fix the heater!"

"This is a culinary school's training restaurant. Food was ok nothing great but the people were nice and the prices are inexpensive for a good meal. I enjoyed watching the students taking class beyond the glass. I think it would be a good place to bring a group but it's nothing extraordinary. My Mom's salmon was undercooked and they fixed it with a smile. I'd definitely go back and they seem to have interesting rotation in what is served based on what the students classes are learning."

"Food was great, even though we had buffet. For price, a real bargain. Service at table was fine - getting our drinks, etc. but buffet line kept running of plates and food. I had to ask one guy, who was just standing around, for plates. They need to train better."

"Being a first time customer, I would rate my experience as pleasant and enjoyable. The wait staff were quick to bring water, utensils and clear tables. The scallops were great but luke warm when received. The swordfish, chocolate and creme brulee desserts were delicious. Although my beef came out slightly cold, the wait staff quickly took it away and immediately replaced with a hot plate, which was great. There were quite a few people there but it was still quiet and intimate. The chef came over and was very friendly and personable to all guests. Overall I would definitely return as the food was delicious and the overall atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable."
