"This is an upscale, Asian restaurant, which is rare. The food is always good, & our service was excellent. Mitch was our waiter, & he was efficient, friendly & helpful when ordering. We like the decor, & energy of this place. It's very popular, so make a reservation!"

"Red Ginger is always quality. We had a beef tenderloin appetizer which you cook yourself on a hot rock brought to your table. The quality of the meat was top notch - I even asked if that particular cut was available as an entree, and it is. Great rolls - very affordable. Love this place."

"This place is rated #3 in the area on Trip Advisor. Was looking forward to sushi and Asian cuisine. Over half of the sushi selections were cooked fish. I had a spicy tuna roll and salmon sashimi - both were blah and not as fresh tasting as i'd like - comparable to grocery store sushi. Portion size on the $34 halibut my hubby ordered was laughable. Place was very loud. More suited to groups than a date night. Overall, more style than substance. Service was excellent though!"

"I have had cheap sake in the past, but this time I opted for the expensive stuff. It was a foolish mistake, and a major disappointment.
Although my daughter enjoyed her braised short ribs, my sample suggested that someone had dropped a tube of lipstick into the sauce -- waxy and chemical tasting. Unfortunately, the sushi was warm, and although I ordered 2 "spicy" versions, it was only the wasabi sauce that gave it any zing."

"From the outside Red Ginger looks like a small cute restaurant, but once inside WOW! The restaurant is decorated well. The menu is incredible. We wanted to try everything on the menu. "We had a fantastic experience at red ginger. The food was excellent, the service was wonderful, the seating was perfect for us. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were greeted graciously and took a seat at the bar where we were immediately served a glass of wine. Before we got half way through the glass our table was ready and we were introduced to our service team. We immediately ordered an appetizer and settled in to our very comfortable table. The the appetizer came and we ordered a couple of sushi rolls. The food was all served efficiently, looked and tasted incredible. Another sushi roll, dessert, and coffee later and we left extremely satisfied.
Can't wait to go back."

"Red Ginger is one of my favorite places in the whole World. The atmosphere is like traveling
to another galaxy altogether. The food is so deliciously and carefully prepared that I am
literally blown away every time I go there. It is so popular that it does get a little loud
but the service is so excellent and the food, place, and view are so special that we go there
for our special occasions, special evenings, and any time that we are able. I live 85-90
miles away and last week I went all the way to Traverse City just to share Red Ginger with
a new friend of mine. And we were thrilled all over again. I am glad to be a part of Open
Table if being a member can help me find places that are anything like Red Ginger."

"Consistently excellent service, ambiance and food. We have had several offerings from the entire menu - and have loved everything so far. The only suggestion would be to include an equal number of items in any given "small plate" so we don't have to fight over the last one :)

"I have visited Red Ginger many times for their Happy Hour menu and for their NYE event. Each time the food is always amazing. During my recent visit I was even more surprised with the attention to detail. We had 2 servers helping us and neither one missed a beat. They were right there when we needed another drink, cleaned up around us, and even reset the table without us even noticing them quickly readjusting the table as they walked by. We loved the setting, the food was amazing and the service was impecable! Thanks for another memorable meal and night out!"

"Attended for restaurant week, 2013. We tried two things from each course and everything was delicious! The lamb spring rolls were outstanding as was the caramel chicken and sushi. I could taste the fresh herbs and perfect blend of flavors. Although the restaurant was full, we could still easily converse and the staff was very attentive. The decor is lovely and we had to decide which way to face from our table...toward the lovely water view or towards the warm glow of the I interior. We were very pleased with the whole experience and the restaurant week menu and pricing seemed to make it a better deal than their normal pricing as well!"

"The food was terrific. Sea bass and sushi was very nice! Crab ragoon app. Was rolled in acigar shape, different but good. Prices a bit high for the portion size but overall...good food. Only disappointment was, as I am a baker pastry chefs do not seem to be very skilled in michigan, so dessert menu was typical fare. Our waitress was a bit flakey and not highly attentive for the high level of dining and prices like you would expect, but in no way dissapointing, she could have made the experience great instead it was good. Overall loved it. Very fun mix of upbeat contemporary with a mix of elegance. Try the red ginger sangria, unique and very yummy!"

"Our favorite restaurant in Traverse City. The Red Dragon roll and the shrimp tempura roll were excellent. It's a little pricey, but worth it. We were there during the Comedy Festival so the place was full and very noisy. It is much quieter on week nights. We have never had a bad meal or service there and we have eaten there many times. It is by far the best Asian restaurant in the North that we have tried."

"I have enjoyed Red Ginger in the past, but Friday's experience was not typical of my positive visits that I've had before. It was a busy weekend in TC, so naturally we were competing with millions of tourists, but that also meant that the noise level in the restaurant was unbelievably high. My boyfriend and I were on our "Valentine's Day" date and were unable to hold a conversation. Our waiter was obviously hoarse from shouting and was overwhelmed with tables. I appreciated his efforts to space out our ordering process so that we didn't have to wait long for drinks/food to arrive, but it was rather akward and unpleasant. I am honestly unsure if I will recommend Red Ginger or I will try it again. My boyfriend said he wouldn't eat there again"

"The food was decent but not worth the price. Our food was also given to the table next to us. They were looking very confused since they had just sat down. We told them it was what we had ordered and they handed it over. The menu is also quite small. The sushi options could expand a bit."

"Tuna tower appetizer is excellent if available as is the kobe steak cooked on the hot table stone. I've been fortunate to eat sushi in NYC, Miami, San Fran, San Diego, London, and Tokyo. The Chef's Special Roll with pouched shrimp, bacon flavoring, asparagus, and truffle sauce is one of the best treats found anywhere. Service was excellent with 2+ people working each table to expedite food delivery. I even enjoyed the local sparkling wines. The brut "sex" rose was excellent."

"I have been to Red Ginger only a few times do to the prices. But its worth it to go when you can. I was there this time to celabrate my birthday with my mother and aunt. My mother never has been and thought it would be a great place to go. She never went do to her hear that the prices are high there. It was a special occasion and she did enjoy herself, we all did. I really enjoyed that they put a birthday card at our table for our reservations. The lunch prices were not bad either so that was a plus :)
