"I had only been to this restaurant one other time. I was impressed, and saw on open table they had a mother's day brunch. I figured my mom would like it. She loved it and can't stop talking about it."

"We came here for mother's day and we weren't sure how it would turn out because my wife isn't too big of a fan of buffets. The dining room was relatively small but quaint. The drinks from the bar were outstanding and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. My first impression of the buffet wasn't as positive as I'd hoped, as there were no plates available when we reached the serving station and many of the trays of food were empty or near empty. Fortunately, they filled up with fresh food and pastries not too long after and the food was quality and consistent, especially for a buffet. They don't normally open on Sundays, so this buffet for Mother's Day is out of the ordinary and something worth seeing"

"The service was excellent. Efficient, attentive, but not suffocating. The waitress was excellent... she was on top of everything. The food was just OK, not bad in any way, just nothing memorable."

"We took our daughter, who was visiting from Australia, to a lovely evening dinner. She was impressed with the quality and selections. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and attentive service. She told her husband (who had returned home to Australia a few days before) about the wonderful experience and now he is expecting to enjoy the same experience when they return to Cary! How lucky we are to have an elegant place to dine within 10 minutes of our home."

"Based on the overall excellent reviews on OpenTable, my fiancé and I decided to give Chef's Pallette a try for a nice dinner out. We were about 15 mins late, which was handled seamlessly by the hostess. Table/location was nice, fairly quiet. Our server was very good. The tuna appetizer was outstanding. Service from the kitchen was very slow, and our server apologized/explained they were backed up. Upon finally arriving the entrees were surprisingly bland - my Filet Mignon was prepared correctly and had great texture but seriously lacked flavor. My fiancé mentioned exactly the same of her Mahi Mahi, and they forgot several sides. For the price we expected much tastier food."

"At our table we had everything from Ahi Tuna appetizer to grilled salmon, filet mignon and bone in pork chops. Everything was prepared perfectly, and was absolutely delicious. Our server was friendly, seemed to care about our satisfaction and was very accomodating.
Overall great experience..."

"We have now been to this restaurant twice for special birthday celebrations. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with local artists' work. The waitstaff is knowledgeable, friendly and quietly attentive. The food has been great both times, and although the rice pilaf was a little undercooked for my taste, the risotto was to die for. All the dishes are creative and beautifully presented. Definitely recommend the Earth and Sky and the nuts and berries salad.
All in a a great place, and we are so glad we found it."

"Chef's Palette is right in our backyard and for some reason we just don't go often enough. Our spur of the moment visit on Saturday evening was a delight from start to finish! Service was excellent and attentive. Food and presentation was simply outstanding. I enjoyed the special for the evening which was tuna, filet and shrimp on a bed of parmesan risotto. For dessert, my partner and I shared the banannas foster which did not disappoint. Landon our server was tuned in to our needs and attentive and of course, Cathy, always makes it a point to stop by and greet her guests. Again, not sure why we don't go more often, but this visit reminded us that we should!"

"While the service was very good, I'd have the rate the food above average and the prices more than above average. The meals are generally expensive, not all, but most. Considering that the food is good, but won't knock your socks off, I found it expensive. Drinks are pricey too. Wine list is predominatly American, so choices are limted - the usual pinot grigio and a south american or two to create an international flavor, but significantly no selection of real french or italian vintages. Generally I'd go elsewhere, but it was a convenient mid-way point foe our guests. The bar menu is more reasonable. By the time dinner was ending, the band in the bar was driving us out of the dining room."

"We tried Chef''s Palette based on friends recommendations. Three of us had dinner on a Saturday night. We all enjoyed the Ahi tuna appetizer. My daughter and I enjoyed our entrees of salmon and filet. My husband, however, was disappointed in his bone-in ribeye. The quality of the meat, particularly for the price, was not good. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and service was good. We probably will try again."

"This restaurant has it all, beautiful local artwork, on friday and saturday nights live entertainment in the bar area, and absolutely fresh and amazing food. My significant other and I were looking for a new place that is not a chain and is worth going out and we absolutely found it. A great drink menu, knowledgable staff although we came in 15 minutes before the kitchen closed they allowed us to order anything and everything we wanted without any frustration. I work in the industry myself and it is so nice to be greeted and taken care of even being so late to dinner! We will absolutely be back! THIS PLACE IS GREAT!"

"Stephanie, was great, she said the specials for that night without a hitch, like the swordfish dinner was an everyday item. My wife couldn't choose a wine for her dinner so Stephanie let her sample 2 before she chose one. The scallops wrapped in bacon with the lemon herb orzo was great, so good I remember what I ate! My wife's chicken dish was excellent too, we shared with each other! We didn't have dessert because it was our wedding anniversary, which no one at the restaurant knew, and we had truffles at home made by a couple in Fuquay that I purchased earlier in the day. It was a great dining experience and we thank you."

"Went here for the first time on a Thursday night - discovered a great "Thank You Thursday" prix fixe deal for two: couple of entrees, an appetizer to share, soup or salad each, and dessert to share along with a couple glasses of wine for $40. What a great deal - the food was prepared and presented well, very generous portions - leftovers were sufficient for lunch the next day. Competent and friendly service. I would recommend Chef's Palette to anyone in the Cary area looking for a pleasant and dependable dining experience close to home."

"Enjoyed our dinner but they were out of a menu item that 3 of our party wanted. Missing cookies in dessert - when we asked were told they were out. There was a VERY long wait between salad and dinner. No additional bread offered and we were just left to sit it out. Food was good and server was very pleasant."

"Outstanding service and excellent food. Simple elegance in decor. Portion size on lamb shank on the small size, but, otherwise, a very good dish. Chicken Francese beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. I liked that the menu listed actual anchovies as an optional addition to the Caesar salad, which was very fresh. This was our first visit, and we made an early reservation (6:00), and got right in, but the entire dining room and bar room were packed by 7:30 on Saturday night, so the word is apparently out on this Cary gem. Imaginative specialty cocktails--we loved the Vargas Martinis--no vermouth, but olive juice and blue-cheese stuffed olives with Tabasco. Apple tart dessert with ice cream was tasty version of apple dumpling."

"We arrived for our 7:45 reservation on time. The table wasn't ready so we got a beer at the bar, which was very crowded, but felt like a good first impression of the restaurant. We weren't seated for 20 min. After being seated we wait for 10 min to see our waiter, and then another 50 min. after that to receive our entree. Was very surprised at the pricing of the food, really no entree under $18 and a significant amount of seafood. The Mushroom Montage had 4 mushrooms in it and was basically $25 for chicken and pasta in an Alfredo sauce and the Lamb shank was stingy, the portion size was not comparable to everything else we saw dinners receiving. Went in excited but was very disappointed."

"I was very disappointed after reading good reviews for this restaurant. My husband and I went for the Valentine's Day Prix Fixe menu. The appetizer was good. The salad was beautifully presented but the vinegar in the dressing almost choked me. Then we waited for 40 minutes before getting our entrees. We both ordered the filet mignon. My husband's was was cooked to his liking but mine, which was supposed to be medium, was extremely dry and chewy. I told the waiter when asked that it was dry and he offered a new one but I did not want to wait another 40 minutes so refused. Usually this would have prompted a visit to our table by the manager which is what I expected. But the manager never showed up which was very disappointing."

"Everyone in our group was unhappy about something with their meal. The lamb shank was not cooked long enough (meat was NOT fall off the bone tender). In fact the meat was almost tough and chewy. Nor were the vegetables - potatoes and carrots were still "crunchy". Mac and cheese was not hot.
The only good thing about the meal was the calimari, which was the best I've ever had. But an appetizer does not a meal make!
The service was okay, but we felt as if the wait staff was hovering - we didn't feel like we could relax. One couple felt very "rushed.""

"We went on a Thank You Thursday and had a delicious gourmet meal for a very reasonable price. We started with appletinis (also on special for $5). They were perfect. Our shared appetizer was fried artichokes with a spinach cream sauce and they were very tasty. Then we each had a salad. My husband had swordfish and pesto risotto. I had pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon with sour cream smashed potatoes. We both had the sautéed squash as the vegetable. The dinner included a glass of wine. For dessert we shared a banana foster with ice cream. Everything we had was delicious and well presented, I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was also top notch. We plan to go back often."

"We first visited the restaurant in June of 2012. Since then we have made it a frequent, location of choice for casual dining. Whether it is just the two of us or a group of 8, we have always enjoyed being a guest at The Chef's Palette. The food is excellent and fresh. Hot items are hot and cold items are cold...not always the case in other restaurants. The service is excellent and everyone makes you feel appreciated. Our grandson loves the illuminated menus!!!"

"In short, this meal was ridiculously good! We split 2 appetizers (bruschetta and shrimp Jaiden) both of which were excellent. My fiance had the chicken which was moist and flavorful...you would never know chicken could taste so good. I had the scallops wrapped in bacon which were also phenomenal. As I brought the scallop to your nose, the mouth-watering aroma of the smoked bacon filled my nostrils. Enjoying the scallop itself was an experience...like biting into a warm, soft stick of butter (the texture, not the flavor, although the flavor was fantastic as well!).
Last comment...RUN, don't walk here!"

"My husband and I went with another couple and all four of us liked our food, although my lamb shank wasn't "falling off the bone" as advertised. Altho delicious, it needed work to get the meat off! My husband had the scallops and said they were outstanding. My friend got the chicken and enjoyed it, and I can't remember what her husband got, but it was different from ours and he liked his choice, too. I do remember that he ordered a small salad with his meal, however, and it was big enough that he was full part-way into his meal. We'll certainly go back."
