"Mona accommodated our family needs for early dinner for nine even though the reservation was for 8. I was under the impression that this would have been a burden for them due to he limited space, but the restaurant was not nearly as busy as had been presented from my earlier conversation(1day) in which the manager stated they would be overly busy and would have to take extra steps to accomodate us for one extra person. There were several empty tables around us and we shouldnt have had to squeeze the extra person in. Otherwise all was fine and the food was good."

"First all the the place is in an excellent location downtown baltimore harbor close to all the action and sporting venues. Most importantly the food was excellent. I was quickly seated even though I was almost 30 minutes late for my reservation. The service was excellent by the waitress and was greated by the matrodee (excuse my spelling) and the manager. It was just a wonderful experience. They also have valet parking right outside the restaurant for an extrmely fair price."

"I took my mother there for their Mother's Day special. The food was great, and they were very accomodating to children and large parties. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was also very nice, and my cup never went empty. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would return anytime."

"Waited a long time and no one came to serve us. Finally flagged down a waiter who rushed to take our orders, didn't explain specials, no water. Food was delivered by others, still no water. Food delivery woman accidentally tried to give us other orders twice. Poorly run. Had to beg for boxes, coffee, dessert, etc. Wouldn't ever go back, not worth the money and being ignored. Other customers next to us complaining. See wait staff chatting with each other. Wait staff would walk right by and ignore you."

"Went there for two reasons, because it had sushi and it was listed on Opentable. The sashimi was good but the rolls were a disappointment. The rice was dry and there was a lot of it. I like rolls with a little more filing. Almost looked like they skimped on the good “inside” stuff and compensated with the thick layer of bad rice. Plus they do not have a brown rice option. At the end of the meal the waiter handed us the wrong bill. My husband and I were surprised at the total then realized it was for the table next to us with a party of 9. Oops!"

"This resturant was terrible. I've been there before to eat dinner with friends and I loved it. The service was slow and bad . I even asked the manager to take the tip out because the service wasn't the best at all. Of course the manager didn't and was very rude to me when I was talking to him about it. Also it was my birthday and I was informed that it was gonna be a little different and I was going to receive a complementary cupcake or cake or something and I didn't even receive that , no one even wished me a happy birthday. I really wouldn't recommend this restaurant for big groups or anything. The management needs work."

"We went to KG on a Sunday for brunch before heading to Camden Yards for the game. All members of our party were impressed by the freshness and tastiness of the food. Our server Chris took good care of us: when something fell short of expectations he fixed it cheerfully and immediately. Fish tanks are very cool and beautiful with unusual specimens--I won't spoil the surprise for you! The ball park was well in walking range and there is a good event parking lot catty-corner to the restaurant for $15. If I worked in Baltimore I would definitely go there for happy hour."

My only negative comment would be our seating, which was a round table by itself in the corner. It was separated from the rest of the dining room by the walkway from the front door. "While the food is a little pricey for the adults, the kid's meals are quite reasonable and were well-liked by my 5 and 6-year-old. Our waiter was very personable and good with the kids (he even knew to offer to take the kids' orders early and bring their food out) and kept up with our drinks pretty well. My husband's salmon salad was large enough to make a satisfying dinner, and my sushi was very good as well. The berry creme brulee was excellent. We were there on a Thursday night - the place wasn't dead, but it was not overly crowded and there was no wait for the table."

"We made a last minute reservation and we're accomodated without issue. Our small group of 5 was met at the front door and seated promptly. Our waitress, Rachel, was excellent and provided special menu for some vegetarians in our party. I will definately make a return visit. "The ambiance and the energy at Kona is always great. We've going for a while and the staff and service is always good. We usually go to Kona for their sushi, we are BIG fans of the Wave roll (highly recommended for people that say they don't like sushi, this roll might just make you a convert). Highly recommend the place!"

"We love appetizers. Hitting them at happy hour when many of their appetizers are discounted was perfect. We had the sweet and spicy shrimp, FABO. The potstickers were perfect. The peanut sauce on the chicken sate--like eating peanut fudge. The margherita flatbread--stunning. The avocado egg roll--a unique and lovely experience. We also had a couple of rolls which were all equally delicious. And the discounted price--AMAZING. Will definitely return."

"Went out for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night and placed reservation on opentable.com it worked out fantastic.
Had some drinks at the bar before dinner and they were yummy but ordered the same at the table and they were horrible and we sent them back but the manager made sure we had new ones right away which were great!
Filet was awesome! Only complaint was the drink situation and it wasn't the first time.
The bartender makes his own for the bar and the bar server makes them for the restaurant which were not good!"

"We've been to Kona Grill several times for lunch & dinner. We've always enjoyed the food & service we received. We especially enjoyed our latest visit with our server, Emily. She was so wonderful- making good menu suggestions, very attentive and despite the busyness of a Friday night made us feel very welcome & that she had all the time in the world for us. The food was delicious - served hot & fast. A very enjoyable evening!"

"Had high hopes, a bit wary of service given other reviews. Figured that Sun. night, non-holiday, small party would be ok. Fresh fish (Mahi Mahi) was superb. Side of plain white rice was just that - plain white rice. Side of vegetables was NOT GOOD. Filet was also superb. Side of mashed potatoes was ok but unremarkable. Vegetables again were waste of space. Server, while nothing really wrong happened, was totally disconnected. It seemed that this was just a J.O.B. to her - no pride or real interest in her work. Brought sugar for iced tea, then brought sugar again for coffee - set down right next to other sugar and didn't even notice the duplication. Had to ask for drink refills. Not what I expect when paying $75+ for 2 people."

"My experience was not great. It started off okay. My party was EXTREMELY late and I sat at the bar waiting. The hostess continued to check in on me which was very nice and the bar staff was helpful and competent. The night fell apart because of our server. He was no where to be found when the rest of my party was ready to order and we had to flag down three other servers to get our food and drinks ordered. My food was okay, but I was not blown away. All in all I think it could have been a better experience. I may try them for Happy Hour which seems to be what they are better known for."

"Apparently they lost our order, resulting in us not getting food after waiting for an hour and half. And they still charged us for food we had to take in boxes to make it to our conference. "We started at the bar sitting around the fireplace and decided to stay there and have our dinner. Great service, the Manager stopped by and made sure we had everything and had the chef make a special sushi plate for my wife. My wife can't eat the seaweed wrap, so they substituted a soy wrap, and for the first time my wife was able to eat sushi."
