"Long wait for food. Offered free ice cream to make up for extended wait . My company was happy with his meal while I found the meat in my club sandwich very fatty. The waiter was very nice and the seating was comfortable. This was my first time there and I would try it again."

"Satis has clinched my nomination for best restaurant in Jersey City, beating out both 30 Acres and Marco & Pepe. The oxtail risotto is decadent, and the steak tartare never fails. Also, they'll do a chef's selection of meats and cheeses, but still let you specifically request the mangalitsa as part of it. The moscow mule was the favorite cocktail of the evening. And the tiramisu cocktail is the best possible dessert."

"Definitely a neighborhood gem. Seating is a little close. Overall though the atmosphere of Satis is cozy and romantic. They do get very busy so definitely make reservations especially on weekends. Their prix fixe menu during the middle of the week is great. Outstanding Gelatto and French onion soup! Only negative on this night was the bar, which was quite slow. Alrhought the place was packed so I guess it can slide. This is a definite must go!"

"Food was very good. The menu is very small and there were no special of the day. I had the short ribs and it was delicious. My sister had the oxtail risotto, also great. I found the appetizer portions to be small but the main course was a good size."

"The food was delicious, but it took a little while to get service. We sat outside of the restaurant. We definitely waited longer than the diner's inside. That being said the chicken paillard was worth the wait."

"This is my second dinner at Satis in the past 3 weeks, and again, the food is excellent, but the service is extremely slow and absent at times. The waiters are very friendly, but seem either inexperienced or overwhelmed.
Also, they dining rules including time limits on the menu which is a little bit in poor taste for an upscale restaurant...the owner or manager must be control freaks..."

"My first brunch at Satis, and it did not disappoint. Good (not great, but good) bloody marys. My husband had an amazing duck confit tartine and I had eggs cocotte with aged goat cheese and polenta. I think the goat cheese was boucheron, which I love, but they probably shouldn't have thrown a whole slice in there with the rind and all, because the inside of the slice melted into the polenta beautifully, but the rind came out as a sort of cheese string in my dish which, had I not known what it was, could have been very distressing. However, I'm a big fan of the rind of boucheron, so I ate it happily.
Can't wait to come back again soon and try more of the brunch menu."

"We loved the eclectic brunch menu! You absolutely must try the stuffed French Toast, even if you do it as an app. The creative egg dishes are all very good. Our only problem was that they forgot to check us in with open table, and this was not the first time this has happened at this restaurant."

"Satis is a beautiful restaurant with a great casual feel. Pillows on the settes, cool lighting and big windows make this a very comfortabe place to dine. The food is always outstanding. My sons and I all ordered different entrees and everyone was extremely pleased with their dish."

"A group of 5 of us had dinner here. A couple of us had already been for dinner and brunch previously. The menu is great and the food is outstanding. Almost every menu item is fresh and made to order. They have a nice selection of meats and cheese pairings. The wine list is also very good. However, our party asked for a bottle of wine and we had to ask twice in a span of about 15 minutes asking where the bottle was. Even a single beer order took about 10 minutes to arrive. The dining room wasn't that crowded either. Not sure why it took so long. They were apologetic for the delay in brining out the wine, but the service was a bit slow during the meal. The food, however, more than makes up for it."

"I've lived 2 blocks from Satis since the day it opened and have JUST managed to try it out. I've been twice in two weeks. Absolutely love the food, music, ambiance, and waiters. Highly recommend Satis, especially if you like a good salumeria such as myself."

"I'd read the lovely NY Times review, and wondered why I had never been to this little neighborhood restaurant that is so close to my home. Now that I've been there, I can't wait to go back, because we filled up on appetizers and a meat and cheese platter, and never made it to entrees, and I really need to go get the venison dish before it's spring and they don't have venison on the menu anymore. Service was top notch, and the place was empty when we showed up for dinner at 6:30pm on a Tuesday. Everything we ate was delicious, and I can't wait to return."

"This place is outstanding. We've been eating here since it opened and it never disappoints. I almost want to rate it "poor" so we can keep it to ourselves. The chef is unbelievable and changes up the menu every couple of months. The staff is friendly and courteous. The ambiance is warm and suits a romantic dinner for 2 or a small group dinner. Save room for dessert!"

"I ordered the braised short rib and my date had the chicken. The short rib was way too over-seasoned as well as the mashed potatoes that came with it. They had an overwhelming peppercorn bite to them, to the point where it was completely inedible. My dates chicken wasn't anything special to say the least and his too was over-seasoned only they has a very heavy hand on the salt. And when I got the dessert menu I was very disappointing, seeing as they only had 3 options, and 2 out of the 3 were ice cream Sundays. I give this place a 2 out of 5 stars. On another note it had good ambiance and the service was okay. I probably wouldn't recommend this place, and won't be going back."

"Jury's out whether I would recommend. The main waiter for our table was somewhat arrogant. Throughout the course of the dinner they had at least three different people serving us and nobody knew what they were doing. Food, for the most part was good, but the overall place I'm not sure if I'd want to go back. A bit too snooty for the less than great service."

"Was here with some frineds for a Birthday dinner. Had an 8:00Pm reservation and showed up a few minutes early. Checked in with the Hostest and was directed to the bar. Table was not available until 8:40 (no need to make a reservation if you are forced to wait with all of the walkins). With that, once we were shown our table, our waiter, George, insured that our evening and dining experience would be a memorable one. Service, food, attention to detail were amazing, so evening was great and would receommend and will defiunatley be going back"

"We took advantage of the Hudson county Restaurant Week's prix fixe menu. The charcuterie plate appetizer was very good. The gnocchi was a non-traditional preparation, and not heavy. charming "distressed" brick and tall ceilings, chandeliers add to the bistro feel."

"My lady and I took a shot during restaurant week and were very pleased. Had 6PM reservation, got there early, but hung out in the very cozy wine bar until the kitchen opened. Beautiful space with bare brick, huge windows in the front wall, a loft, oak floors, banquettes, candle light. My fish was grilled to perfection and the fried oyster appetizer was sublime. Warning: the desserts were not only delicious, they were huge, so splitting one is the ticket. I'll definitely be back!"

"Great deco and setting; impressive salumeria, appetizer, and entry with exceptional quality. dessert is oversized. Wine list a bit disappointed since everything we tried to order were told not available, and we had to switch to something not on the list.."

"Absolutely loved this restaurant-it is the perfect pairing of food and ambience! Notable dishes were the eggplant and oyster appetizers and the scallop entree was perfection. Looking forward to what selections next season brings. P.S.--Remember to order the gelato and/or sorbet for dessert--they are not to be missed!"

"Great food. Good wine selection and fairly priced. This is not a big criticism but.... although the maple cobbler was recommended, we thought it was a little dry...maybe a scoop of whipped cream or ice cream would help. Loved the place. Sat upstairs where the tables were a bit too cozy and the waiters had to squeeze between the tables and chairs, but also not a great problem. Can't wait to eat through the rest of the menu. Just wish Satis was closer to home."

"Went for brunch, just great. Had baked eggs over mushroom polenta. Yummy! My friend's eggs were overlooked - the server graciously returned them & brought back perfect ly done ones in a nanosecond. Always a fun vibe, reasonably priced. So happy to have Satis nearby. They do a great job."
