"Food is always fabulous. Smokehouse shrimp, walleye, and NY strip are wonderful! Service always leaves something to be desired. I find it weird that this restaurant doesn't have a support staff for their servers, i.e. wait assistants or food runners. I think it's weird when you have the gals that sat us, also bringing our food. Odd. Also, i hate stacking dishes and pushing them to the end of the table, and then they sit there for five minutes. That shouldn't be happening at a restaurant like this. Get it together Porterhouse."

"It's an average steakhouse. Nothing really stands out - the food, wine list, service, ambiance were all average. One would hope the quality of the food would match the price of the meal - not so in this case. My steak was not hot when it arrived at the table, and it was not as tender as it should have been. The other people in our party had better luck with their food. Considering the price for drinks and entrees, I did not get my money's worth and probably won't go back."

"We have been their a few times for special occasions, alone and with friends. The food has always been wonderful & tasty. The service is professional, considerate and not overbearing. The prices are compatible with any fine food restaurant, but don't mind paying a bit more if the food and service warrants it."

"We have eaten at Porterhouse Little Canada for years, and have warm lasting memories of those dinners. The food and service are excellent. Surprisingly, they serve an incredible Clam Chowder -- who knew? My lower rating on this review is due to the 45 minute wait we experienced on a recent Friday night. When seated, we were led to the bar, but declined it to wait for another table / booth in the dining room. Last time we dined in the bar, our booth was cramped, the bar was packed, the noise level deafening, and other customers pressed up against us and leaned into our table. When booking at this restaurant, be specific if you require the Dining Room! The ambiance is wonderful, but really minimized in the bar on busy nights."

"Someone other than our waitress brought our food out. (a man) Our original waitress did not check back to see if everything was ok. Our waitress came out from the back room about 4 times to other tables but never looked at our table. My husband was missing his mushrooms & I never received my baked potato. Finally the fourth time, she was at the booth right by our booth & I called out to her. At that time I told her what was missing. She was apologetic & immediately brought us the missing items."

"We could not have had a better time at The Porterhouse! The food was super good and the service was excellent. My wife and I have tried many upscale restaurants like Pittsburgh Blue, Wildfire, Oceanaire and The Porterhouse is in the lead. We will most defiantly will be back. We ordered chocolate cake to take home and it has taken us 3 days to finish it because it was so huge! Super yummy!!!"

"Saturday, May 4th, we had 5:30 dinner reservations. We arrived shortly before 5:30 and were promptly seated at a setup table. Then, nothing happened. We were not even given the opportunity to order a beverage. After 15 minutes of waiting, we left. This was our first visit to this restaurant."

"Excellent service, tremendous steaks, a warm and caring atmosphere; vibrant ambience but quiet. We could actually have a pleasant conversation without shouting.
The presentation is excellent, the steak quality is consistently superior.
Very good appetizer selection. The Spinach, Artichoke & Parmesan Ramekin is a must. The home-made New England Clam Chowder and French Onion Soup are terrific. This place is a gem.
Surprisingly, the fresh salmon can match any fresh daily catch on the East or West Coast. Amazing for Minnesota!
We've been to every top-rated steak house in town, and now we only patronize Porterhouse. Absolutely the best steak house in the Twin Cities.

"That piece of liver I ate was fantastic. The portion was huge for average 5'3' body.
I brought the rest in the box, and ate for next 3 days. It was very delicious, moist, well done, so tasty. Asparagus was gently done, not overcooked or undercooked.
In generally, the prices are very high; I can afford it maybe once a year for very special occasion.
The drink that I had - Martini Flash (peach) was good, too. It comes in a shaker which waitress left with us and we pour in our glass as often as we want.
I wish the waitress would approach to us more often, seemed they had shortage for that day."

"The food was good, the waitress was great, the manager was awful and would never come back to this location. We arrived with reservations for 7:00, they told us they had no tables and we would have to wait, finally 20 minutes later they said oh we can seat you in the bar if you want, we said NO it was packed in the bar and we had two kids with us. It was for my husbands birthday which we also told them ahead of time. We finally got a nice booth and then the manager said oh well we will write a note next time you don't want to be in the bar. How rude. For the wait they should of offered us a free drink or something but instead gave us a rude comment."

"We were not happy about being seated in a booth in the noisy bar as this was our 37th wedding anniversary. After complaining, they moved us to a table in the dining room. We have dined here several times and never been put in the bar. Both our steaks were rare instead of medium and one was black and crunchy on the outside.

"My friends and I have an "annual steak night". We've been to some wonderful places over the years, downtown Mpls and St. Paul.
In my opinion, I liked Porterhouse the best. The location, the atmosphere,the delicious food, and the reasonable prices. And it was just more my style. I'm not a downtown kind of girl, I'm more jeans and sweatshirts.
The food was outstanding and the service matched. We were treated so kindly. The pace of the food delivery was something we all noticed too. We weren't being rushed at all.
The only thing that was a challenge is the parking!
I will definately go back, and take others with me!"

"The Porterhouse has been a favorite of ours in the past. On this visit, our server was given a table of 9 right after we were seated and this negatively impacted our service level. In past visits, our service level was always excellent. Bacon dressing for the Spinach Salad was cold (I recall the dressing was warm in the past). Bearnaise Sauce that came with "The Works" was also cold. We ordered 2 King Crab Leg add-ons and only received 1 - had to wait until halfway through our meal to receive the second one.Overall, this visit was disappointing. We have always enjoyed The Porterhouse - service and food have been excellent."

"I have been to Porterhouse Little Cananda four times, and each time the service and the food is wonderful. Ceasar salad is delicious. My husband loves the bacon wrapped shrimp, and I usually have fish. On this visit I had the fish special which was parmesean crusted halibut with a dijon cream sauce. It was probably the best tasting fish dish I have ever had at a restaurant. Join the "bread club" and you get a 10 dollar off coupon for your birthday."

"My favorite part of our experience was that not once did we ever feel rushed. Seems like so many restaurants these days are anxious to serve you and empty the table for the next party. We took our time with each course and the spacing was perfect."
