"Now that summer is here, Bobby Van's is the perfect place for an outdoor dinner prior to theater. A fun menu makes it possible to enjoy everything from a hamburger plate to a full steak dinner. Staff was very accommodating, food was delicious. We will definitely be back!"

"We enjoyed our dinner. My wife's lentil soup was excellent as was my Caesar salad. The entrees, sole meunier (sic) and horseradish crusted filet mignon were also delicious and cooked to order. We will return again especially when we have theatre tickets."

"I recently dined here with my 9 of my friends. The staff were very accommodating. One concern that I had was that it was a Friday night at 7PM and the restaurant was almost empty. We were seated very quickly and the service was very good. I ordered the beef nachos which were very tasty. My friends ordered different dishes, ranging from steak to lobster. One of my friends had to have his food taken back to the kitchen a couple of times because it was either not cooked enough or cooked to much. For main course I had the veal chop, it was not the best and in retrospect I should have ordered the steak. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli which was decent. We had a good experience, the food was decent, the service was very good."

"I brought a few friends to this place after drinking all day at the Perfect Pint across the street. They wanted to go to a good steakhouse and I said how convenient. They didn't think I tried hard enough to look for a place, but Bobby Van's they were very happily surprised."

"Took my wife to this restaurant for her birthday, from the moment we stepped in they did not disappoint. The service was excellent and they did not rush you but were very attentive. Now I had the bone in rib eye which was cooked perfectly good flavor tender juicy all that I expected. My wife had the filet oscar she was impressed (which made it good for me) I would definitely recommend them to anyone who desires an excellent meal."

"I'm a regular and the last two times I've been there the service was just awful. The last time I took an hour and ten minutes to get our lunches. Waiter couldn't care less. Gave us the typical "it will be right out" and "let me check on it". Manager saw us and never said anything."

"Arrived 1/2 before reservation and we were able to be seated. Tight space in right corner, lower level where we were seated. Waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Ordered steak medium-well - it came out pink inside - sent it back :( returned to me the way I wanted it cooked - medium-well. Food was good. Portions were very large. Was not very crowded with "evening theatre" patrons nor was it crowded with after "matinee theatre" patrons. Quite frankly, we thought it was going to be packed??? Don't think I even needed the reservation. Thanks to Open Table nonetheless it makes making a reservation so easy :)"

"My 12 year old daughter and I ate at Bobby Van's Grill in Time's Square - only 1 block from our theater on a Friday night. They read my notes from Open Table and seated us near a window just as I asked. My daughter had a burger and I had the special - horseradish encrusted salmon over asparagus and mashed potatoes - everything tasted fantastic! Our waited suggested the Tartufo dessert - perfect ending to our meal. Total price for the two of us with a glass of wine not bad at $86.I would go back again and dine outside during the summer. Excellent location close to theater district."

"Loved the "look and feel" of the resaurant with its multi-level dining combined with views of the "action" out the huge glass windows. Reservations worked great (I was a little late and there was no problem). Hostess was a sweatheart.
Waiter was good and attentive in the beginning, but didn't come around very often during the meal. The appetizer special was thick cut bacon drizzled with balsamic. AWESOME!
I ordered the 10 oz filet "medium". It was definitely overcooked and closer to well done than even to "medium well". My wife ordered the filet salad (medium) and hers was cooked just right. Because the waiter didn't come back for quite some time after I got the meal, I just ate it instead of "complaining". Not satisfied with the meal."

"My wife and I enjoyed a fine dinner here on an early Saturday evening. The wait staff was earnest, although not exceptional. My wife had Chilean Sea Bass and I had the Filet Oscar, while we both had Caesar Salads. All were well prepared, and while not inexpensive, a good value for the price-- even for an a la carte menu. There are a few selections less than $30, and those over that price are well worth it. If you don't go crazy, it's a nice alternative for pre-theatre dining, due to it's location. We'd return."

"OK, not great. At NY prices there is no excuse for not being great. Felt rushed by server to place order, though service was attentive. Steak was a bit undercooked but, more disappointingly, was not tender or flavorful. I could get a better steak, at a lower price, with better ambiance a lot of other places. As Burt Bacharach wrote, just "walk on by". BG"

"Sirloin and petit filet were tasty, but both so tough in middle, that portion was inedible. Would have sent back, but by then weren't interested in replacements. For these prices, the meat had better be top-notch. Special mozarella salad was pretty good, but tomatoes were not very good quality. Bread was excellent, as were the fries. We joked that we should have had the burgers instead - totally edible and cheaper! The cosmo was very potent - at $17, it had to be! $10/glass for wine that sells $10/bottle is over the top - should have been no more than $7. We'll try again. Very good service."
