"I realize that you get what you pay for and when dining in Philly, I am willing to pay for quality food. However, I read reviews before having dinner with my mother here and they were spot on. One man wrote that his pasta dish "barely covered the bottom of the bowl" Boy was he not kidding! I always think when I read something like that "buddy this isn't a spaghetti house!" But I have to admit I feel Garces was very overpriced. We ordered the cheese board which had 2 very thin slices of 3 different cheeses with matching dipping sauces. Delicious but not worth $16. We shared the pasta dish which was hard, not firm, not al dente, HARD. We ordered the carbonara one. the sauce was delicious. Thank goodness for multiple bread baskets!"

"The atmosphere is a little quirky with the takeout line very visible and a boutique wine store inside the restaurant. Call about BYOB rules. But there was no denying the mastery of Chef Garces' cuisine. We did the tasting menu for $40 and were very happy with the choices. But be warned, it was a big meal. We will be back!"

"The food was very on point. Had the cheese steak and definitely will be having it again. The two friends I was with are foodies and they seemed very pleased too. Only down side was that the waitress wasn't very personable, however she was always there when we needed anything. Great food, great space. Definitely will be back for more."

"Everything on the menu is consistently excellent. My favorite thing to do is to order the chef's menu, give the server a few notes about what the group likes, and then sit back and marvel as dish after beautiful dish is brought out to the table. I've done this a few times and it has been wonderful each and every time. Great service."

"We were in Philadelphia for the weekend and had heard about the Graces Trading Co. Only a 10 minute walk from our hotel at the convention center they have perhaps one of the best cheese and cured meat selections weve ever seen in a restaurant. What makes this place unique is they are also a market where almost everything they serve is available to purchase and take home including their cheeses, meats, dipping sauces and olive oils/vinegars. The service was excellent as was the food. We tried their speciality hangar steak paired with their suggested wine for the dish. The steak was tender and juicy, the potatoes were tasty and the wine matched nicely. We recommend the Graces Trading Co. especially if your a cheese lover."

"I'm a sucker for their food. It's some of the best cheese, wine, dessert, pasta, and flatbread in Philadelphia.
I can't complain but my parents were particularly picky during graduation weekend and it didn't help that one of the hosts was snooty while the rest were trying to do their job."

"Love all of Garces restaurants. This was a first for Garces Trading Co. We did the Chef's Tasting. It was delicious. We had someone with a shell fish allergy and they accommodated us with extra protein in another dish. We were also celebrating 2 birthdays and they pulled off desserts with candles really well. There is a little store front where you purchase cheese, oil, vinegar, pastries, coffee...etc. The macaroons are to die for!"

"Ordered steak frites, which came undercooked. Even after sending it back it was still too rare and came back without the requested "sauce." Salad was overdressed and excessively vinegary. The noise level was so high that it was difficult to carry on a conversation. We were only somewhat appeased by receiving complimentary macaroons at the end of the meal (actually the best part of the meal)."

"The food is wonderful - new and unusual tastes. Our waitperson was a little too efficient. "Had a really great meal here over the weekend. Had the chefs cheese selection was phenomenal! Each cheese was paired with a sauce/condiment that worked wonderfully. I ended up buying two of the sauces at the end of the night, the Truffle Lavendar Honey and the Garlic Dulce de Lechi. The Goat Bolognese was savory and delicious.
We split the Spring Verrine for dessert. An intersting flavor profile with the basil mousse.
Overall one of the best meals I've has in a while."

"BYOB. This has a much more low key and casual feel than amada. It's more like a cafe. The food was delicious and it's great that the wine store is connected to the restaurant. I had tha pasta special which was small but it was a good portion size. We split a salad and then each had out own entrees. We liked everything we ordered. It started getting crowded but we didn't feel rushed out when we were lingering to finish our wine."

"First trip to Philly- this restaurant offered wonderful food, great service and a lively ambiance. We shared a goat cheese and pesto appetizer that was delicious. My husband had fusilli carbonara that was really rich and satisfying. I had pasta with clams - the seafood was flavorful and substantial, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The bread was amazing, too. We were too full to try dessert but the menu was very nice. The atmosphere was classy-casual; you could dress up or wear nice jeans - a nice option when you have been walking all over the city all day."

"I took my parents here because she is a fan of Iron Chef Jose Garces. While we may not have seen the chef the experience was great. We stopped in during the "Limited Lunch" menu, but don't let the title stop you. The burger on the menu is great and so is the frites made in duck fat. The ham and cheese sampler is also amazing. Be sure to stop by the dessert case after your meal."

"The deep dish pizza is phenomenal. The tomatoes are so fresh and the duck fat crush is so perfectly crumbly. It takes 45 minutes, so put the order in right away and then enjoy some charcuterie and beer or wine while you wait. It was very filling, but we still had the Almond Joy to top it all off -- a delicious combo of coconut, hazelnut, and ginger flavors. A little pricey, but very worth it."

"My husband and I took our dear friend, visiting from Mexico, and our daughter-in-law to Garces Trading Company for a Sunday dinner.
