Established in 1999, Uva Trattoria has been a local favorite for over thirteen years. The extensive menu, of Regional Italian cuisine, specializes in homemade pastas and pizzas. The lively bar has a creative cocktail list with a wine list of both California and Italian wines, specializing in local Napa Valley wines.
Uva is owned and operated by Napa native Aaron Diaz who spent 19 plus years under the tutelage of legendary restaurateur Donna and Giovanni Scala. Scala's guidance helped Diaz develop a deep passion for Italian cuisine, wine and culture where he shares the philosophy of "Less is more" with his Chef Marcos Ramirez.

"We dined as part of a travelzoo offer just to try. We left impressed with the quality of the food and service. My wife and I both had salads which were very fresh and delicious. We had the veal and linguini which were both fabulous. Our server, Francisco was professional and courteous. Overall a great experience we look forward to repeating."

"Our dinner from start to finish was delightful. We dined on a Thursday night with reservations. They had an excellent guitarist and drummer for background music which added a bit of ambiance. The Linguine with Clams was outstanding I highly recommend! The salads were excellent too. My husband loved the Risotto Balls as an appetizer. Can't wait to return!"

"The food was very good especially the gnocchi with the gorgonzola reduction! The staff was friendly and nice. The place was LOUD. If you're looking for something intimate it's not really the place. They did have a wonderful live jazz band and it is a fun place for group to go without worrying about getting loud. Overall, great place."

"Dine here often. Not up to typical standards tonight. My main dish was one of the specials of the day and came out cold and very salty. Ordered something I have had before instead and was just ok. We were served the a dessert other than what we ordered. If it was my first time, I probably would not return. But, we will give them another try in the future."

"a quality restaurant serving all the basic dishes. We were on a Saturday night and the place was packed by 7PM, mostly with people who knew one another. Not slick or high-profile, just basic selections in a friendly locale. The service was prompt, friendly and professional and the wine list was limited but better than many neighborhood stores. We would certainly dine with them again"

"We were looking for a nice Italian restaurant in Napa and was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter Adam was very friendly and knowledgeable with his wine. He recommended a very good red wine which was priced reasonably. I would definitely recommend this place. "It's been some time since I've been to Uva, but I was not disappointed! Neither were my sister or my Mother, as we decided this was the location for our monthly "Date." I had heard that since they changed hands that the food was not as good, but all three of us can contest this is not true! From the blue cheese fries (OMG you have GOT to try these!!!) to the lamb, veal and filet we had....the food was tremendous! Our waiter was very attentive, but not too overbearing; we were in the bar area, so the noise was a bit more than we expected but we were still able to hold a conversation comfortably. We were too early for music...but I've been there before when there was music, and it was great! All thumbs up Uva, Thanks!!!"

"We went here on vacation for our 21st anniversary and were treated royally! We were treated with complimentary rose bubbly and a gorgeous Tiramisu dessert. Uva Trattoria went above and beyond to make our evening special. We shared Risotto Balls appetizer, i had Gnocchi, and my husband had scallops. All nicely prepared. The Sunday night Jazz duo music was really nice, also."

"Went here for dinner with my girlfriend during a short trip to Napa. Uva was recommended by several different people during our time in town. Corkage fee is free on the first bottle, so we were able to bring in a great bottle of wine we had already purchased while tasting around the Valley earlier that day. We had the arancini as a starter, which were phenomenal, shared the gnocchi and ravioli, and finished the meal with the strawberry bread pudding, which was unreal. Meanwhile, there were two local musicians playing live jazz during the meal. Altogether, a fantastic experience, definitely recommend Uva, especially on a night when they'll have music."

"My date was not able to eat anything with mushrooms which made her selections very limited. The kitchen tried to accomidate our needs the best they could and my date ended up being very happy with her meal. We had expected to be able to stay at our table when the band started but were asked to leave so we did. Found a great pool hall blocks away and spent the rest of our evening there. We still had a great night in Napa!"

"The service was very good, they were very attentive. We had multiple employees come up and ask us if we need anything or if we were ready to order. The food was good, everyone enjoyed their meal. My Aunt ordered one of the black and white spaghetti but only wanted shrimp and none of the other seafood. They graciously accommodated her and she was given so much shrimp in her dish we were amazed. We ate in the restaurant, the bar area had a live band. It would have been too loud to talk, you would only want to sit over there to enjoy the music. I would recommend the restaurant and would go back."

"Food was great, especially the spinach salad and the prosciutto pizza! The restaurant was split in two and we were on the noisier side. I would request to be in the smaller room if you are looking for a more romantic atmosphere. I would definitely go back!"

"Out waiter was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and what to recommend and friendly. This is NOT a chain Italian restaurant- its authentic and the live jazz band kicks it up a notch. Try the Rissotto Balls! There is plenty of parking, always a plus."

"We were a little diappointed to arrive and discover that even though we had made a reservation with a special request (close to the dance floor but not near a speaker), we had to wait for a table, and the hostess seemed unaware of our request. The band was great (which is why we came), but the dance floor was too small - at least one more table should be moved. Our food was good, but our waiter was like a bus-boy - delivered a very basic level of service and was not at all friendly or welcoming (and was tipped accordingly). What was nice to see was the span of age ranges present on the bar side of the restaurant. Definitely had a fun, vibrant feel. Portions are generous and reasonably priced."

"Although our waitress was on her 2nd night of the job, she was extremely attentive and helpful. We were able to customize a pasta meal that turned out to be delicious. We were excited to find out there was no corkage fee for our 1st bottle of wine. Would definitely return."

"Uva's is a place my wife and I love to go to but the last experience left us wondering about our choice. The food was great as always the server was great but the front of the house left us annoyed and frustrated. On a last minute decision to celebrate a promotion I checked open table to see how busy they were, they showed openings every 15min for 1:30. I took that since it was a weekday it wasn't that busy and didn't make a reservation. We arrived looking for a table with a half empty room, the front of the desk said there were no tables and we would have to find a seat at the bar. I was confused and upset seeing all the openings. We left but ended up making a reservation outside their door on opentable and coming back in 15min later."

"We had a very long day wine-tasting, so we were very excited to get some delicious food in our systems! The food was wonderful & our server was great. The only complaint we had was with the hostesses who were having a bit of an attitude and were not very helpful. It was a busy night so we understand they may have been having a hard night. Overall, the food was to die for and we will be going back on our next Napa trip!"
