The Lodge
The Lodge Restaurant is an intimate venue with two cozy dining rooms and a festive pub. In our main dining room, you'll find a roaring fire during the winter with wooden rafters and beautiful pine accents, floor to ceiling windows, overlooking endless pines with a spectacular ridgeline back drop. During the summer, you can dine and relax on our deck with stunning views of the golf course and the lush Sierra environment. Year round there is always excitement and camaraderie in our lively pub. We have a spectacular wine list as well as a manager's wine list with incredible deals. There are both weekly and monthy promotions and unique events taking place in the restaurant so check out our events page at www.tahoedonner.com. Our award-winning chef will create a meal you won't soon forget (specials change daily). "We live very close to the restaurant so it's definitely very convenient but also one of our favorites in Truckee. Great food and a friendly staff...a must for us for any occasion. Every Tuesday is "no corkage Tuesdays" which is an added bonus and business is brisk on Tuesdays for sure. If you're in the Truckee area any time of the year, be sure and visit this restaurant, it's beautiful in winter too with the snow outside and you come in to this great restaurant with a fireplace and lovely decor. For casual dining the bar is a fun place with a less expensive menu and still great food....can't say enough about how much we love The Lodge."

"Overall, our experience was very good and consistent with our other visits to the Lodge. One of our guests wanted a dessert wine. Although the wine he wished to have (Sauterne) was on your menu, it was not in your stock. Perhaps you might want to update your menu on a regular basis."

"Normally The Lodge is a 4 for me, but this last time was a 2+/3-. We had an 8 p.m. reservation and I wanted the meatloaf. It turns out they were sold out it, along with 3 other things we wanted. I ended up with the sliders which are normally decent but that night they were bad. They forgot the sauce on one and the fries were limp and luke warm. I think all these issues may have to due with the late reservation as possibly cooks just in a hurry to end the night. If I go again, I'll go earlier or head to Moody's."

"Recommend checking the menu before going- We have had excellent meals when they have a full menu and were very disappointed with their minimal between seasons menu. Service was also not up to the usual standards- had to wait and ask for water glass to be refilled."

"This is an awesome restaurant in the heart of Tahoe Donner housing development. It is convenient for residents and visitors, but also a destination for anyone visiting the Tahoe area, as the setting is lovely, relaxing and the food and service superb. Highly recommended."

"We had 13 people in our group, including 3 children. Mike, the General Manager, was wonderful at working with us to make a very enjoyable seating arrangement for our group. We felt very special. He even called us back to make sure we were set. It was a very nice anniversary and birthday celebration. The Malbec wine was a great way to start off, and the food was very rich and tasty. I had never had a fish taco before, and probably won't have one as good as that one anytime soon. I would highly recommend The Lodge!! Thank you!"

"Have been going to The Lodge for 10 years now. The food is always very good. In the bar area, casual foods like burgers and fries, sliders and macaroni and cheese are delish! Sports are on all the TVs and the ambiance is lively and friendly. The main dining room is more upscale, yet still casual. The food is gourmet and the service attentive - short ribs are really tender and flavorful, seafood dishes have all been well prepared and tasty; the sides are top notch, too. It is located on the Tahoe Donner Golf Course, so the view is beautiful looking up the 1st and 10th fairways. In the summer, deck seating is the best! I see they are expanding it now - it has always been popular!"

"They were very busy the night we were there so the service was slow. We were told that they usually do 60 people per night but that a large group had come in and they had 90. Why they did not bring in extra staff or not accept so many reservations is a question. The food was well prepared but the meat to vegitable ratio was way to high on the meat. Decient wine selection but a bit pricy. $9 for a good but not great Zin."

"We've dined at The Lodge many times in the past and this last visit was somewhat of a disappointment. Our experience was last Sunday and I suspect the restaurant was caught a little off gaurd by the size of the crowd. Monday was a holiday for some people and the restaurant was quite busy. While the wait staff was working hard, they clearly had trouble keeping up with all the guests. My plate had definitely sat for a while before being brought to the table as the veggies were cold and the sauce had a bit of a skin on it. The food still tasted good but service was quite slow. We sat for at least 10 minutes after we were done eating waiting for our table to be cleared."

"What a delightful evening. This is a first time review. Water and bread service was immediate, always a good sign. Calamari appetizer was just OK, but soup and main courses were very good (duck and scallops). We did not try dessert. Wine selection and prices were really excellent for the Tahoe area and sommelier was engaging. We would absolutely return."

"We are regular customers of The Lodge and enjoy it very much. The warm spinach salad is generally excellent, burgers are very solid as well as other sandwiches and steaks. Had the sea bass during this visit and it was undercooked and overpriced in my opinion. Normally everything is excellent, so this was unusual. Please also consider purchasing an espresso machine so that you can offer lattes and other espresso drinks as part of the dessert selections. Sometimes it's nice to have espresso rather than just coffee after dinner."
