"Was in Jackson on business and was told this was the best(only?) place to eat downtown. The food was just ok - my swordfish was undercooked - but the prices were impressive. Be prepared for average food at NYC prices..."

"I travel all over the country and am always on the look out for great restaurants. This one just made my top 5 list. It was pouring down rain when we arrived. My husband dropped his golf cap in the street without realizing. About 20 minutes into our meal one of the staff came over to our table with cap in hand. He saw it laying in the middle of the street and thought it might belong to us. They bagged it and kept it up front for us.
The meal itself was outstanding. Our son had the crab, jalapeño stuffed trout on top of a sweet potato purée. It was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. My husband and I had the Veal Chop and a side of the goat cheese gnocchi. Amazing. We got some kind of s'more dessert to go. Excellent."

"I'll keep this short and sweet. Service was good. Food was decent, but not incredible. My biggest complaint is that not only are the tables too close for what I would call a fine dining experience, but the system in which they seat there patrons seems to involve placing each arriving party directly beside the last party seated. This was frustrating as there was absolutely no privacy between tables. This was enough for me to not consider returning."

"Simply incredible! The food is the best and the cocktail menu is the largest I've ever seen. All drinks are exclusive to the restaurant. Great place for a date. Took my girlfriend on a date there and it was the best date I've ever had. Be prepared to spend alot though, especially if you have drinks with your meal. Well worth the price in my opinion."

"As have mentioned elsewhere, the parking situation is a real kill joy to an otherwise great dining experience. We came for lunch, so the parking meter was in operation, one hour limit! After driving around the block several times, I ended up just parking at the lot at Jackson Place.
The food was great, service pleasant. Definitely will return again."

"Love this restaurant! It is a real find for downtown Jackson. We had the following appetizers: grilled oysters (delicious!), blue crab claws (also very good), and steamed clams (a rare and delicious find). Our entrees included Carolina trout, Gulf redfish, buffalo shortribs, and duck carbonara. The duck was some of the best I've ever eaten, and the homemade pasta and sauce scrumptious!
Always a unique and great menu!"

"The noise level is too high. I like to talk with my friends as I eat. Turn the music down! Also, the glare off the white building across the street was very unpleasant. I couldn't look at the person across the table from me. Could you tint that big window? We had a very pleasant lunch--all of us there for the first time."

"I was aware that the chef and manager had recently left when we made the reservation. The food was excellent as always but the wait staff was unorganized and inexperienced, apparently. The restaurant was not that busy and they still managed to get things mixed up and there were unnecessary delays. At the high prices they charge, they need to tighten up their act!"

"Too many complaints and too limited a space to be able to do my review justice. Will never be back. Sorely disappointing. Went to grocery store right afterwards to get fixings for a salad as I was still hungry after a $50+ dinner! Restaurant was only half full on a Friday night. Something is bad wrong if you are not SLAMMED every Friday night. Now I understand, first hand, why they are not."

"They were great. We were in Jackson for two nights and thank goodness we ate there the first night because it was so good we ate there the second as well. Get the shrimp toast as an appetizer and the duck carbonara as your entree. It won't disappoint Again the service was great. They were very accommodating and the food was out of this world."

"I really enjoyed the ambiance and the service. The food presentation was also top notch. I am lucky enough to eat at some very high end places and the taste of this food was good but not great. But if the kitchen would just teak a few things than I would love to give this place a higher rating."

"We really enjoyed our visit to Parlor Market. We are not Jackson natives and moved from a place where there are many fine dining options. We were delighted to find that Parlor Market can compete with some of our fine dining favorites from outside Mississippi. We visited during the first week of the new menu, so things may not have been perfect yet. We did feel that some details had been overlooked, like not asking my husband how he wanted his meat cooked, that detracted from our meal somewhat. I also felt that our main server could have been more attentive (though the person filling our water was always nearby). Loved the redfish entree and the Walk Down Memory Lane. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back."

"Got to sample their new menu which had not been updated on their website. Food and service was outstanding as usual. I had the duck (very tasty) and my wife had the filet. She commented that it was superb. My only complain; this is not within the resteraunt's control is parking was sparse. The city of Jackson has some road construction going on so nothing was available nearby and it was raining. Plus I am never comfortable parking in downtown Jackson at night. I always enjoy dining at the Parlor Market."

"The Parlor Market is a great choice for dinner if you're going to be attending a show or production in downtown Jackson. Small, upscale dining. Excellent food, but I don't really care for the seating. Mostly a bench and tables along one wall with a few other tables. Nicely done, just not my favorite type of seating. It can be quite noisy when the place is busy. A bit pricey. Typical meal for two, including tax and tip would be about $130.00."

"Imaginatively- and well-prepared food that is nicely presented. Some talented thought has gone into this restaurant's offerings, which are a welcome surprise in Jackson, Mississippi. Service at lunch was just fine, but not in any way special. Parking was a problem: the first spot we found was half a mile away, but that's Jackson's issue, not the Parlor Market's. This was our first visit (we are from Hattiesburg), and we look forward to returning when we're in town."

"This is my favorite restaurant in Jackson. Southern food with a twist of creativity and international flavors. Most of the ingredients are local, farm raised or organic. Excellent tasting experience.
I had the mussels in coconut sauce and the Pork Belly over Fried rice...both great...."

"Gulf fish tasted a bit fishy. Overall food was good. Seared tuna salad was good. Ran out of lobster bisque by 10pm. Not really Southern food."

"We loved the appetizers but the main courses were average. The lobster bisque was too sweet. The lamb was bland. The redfish was average. The food was overpriced for the quality that was served."

"Our waiter was the best. We sat at the first spot against the wall...my husband, my granddaughter and I. We had wine and I chose the fried oyster salad which was delicious. I will be back to order this again. It was difficult to get there because of all the street construction work, but I understand this won't last long. Good luck to all of you!"

"ordered the goat cheese and beet salad for the price of 17.00. You would expect to get a fair amount of beets included in the salad, but instead there was only a few slivers of beets on the plate."
