"My meal - the French toast casserole was smaller than expected but still delicious. The other two dishes my fellow 'brunchmates' enjoyed were also finely done too. One had the cherry pancakes while the other had an egg dish. I do not recall specifics of the entrees. The buffet was an excellent arrangement of fruit, pastries and cheese. Overall, a splendid eating experience."

"I have been to Piccolina Toscana around 8 times this year. I have enjoyed great lunches with my colleagues and some very nice dinners with my family. I highly recommend this place for dinner. At night it has a very nice vibe and pleasant to the eyes. The tables are somewhat smaller then I am use to but it's perfect if you are on a date. It brings couple closer which means your private conversation is just that. Private. I like how friendly the front-desk staff greets you."

"The food is excellent except for poor desserts. The ambiance is destroyed by the view of the shopping center out the windows and the view into the adjacent Toscana To Go. When the restaurant is full, it is very loud. Nevertheless, we love this restaurant for its food."

"The food was very good, portions were a little on the small side for salad, entree and wine pour. Sevice was just OK and there was a longer than usual wait for the entree."

"We are from out of town so eat here once or twice a year. The food is always well prepared, although some items were not up to earlier trips. A "gazpacho" soup was oddly bitter. This time it happened to be Restaurant Week so there were quite a few snafus with the service. We brought a group of 12 people. Some people's food arrived much later than others. One seemed to have been forgotten entirely. Several people ordered a fish dish from the menu, but were given the prix fixe entree instead with no consultation. Only upon inquiry did we find out that the kitchen ran out of a major ingredient. this information was not given ahead of time to allow the diners to choose. I will go back based on past experiences, but others in my party may not"

"While the quality of the food that we ordered was excellent, the time that that it took for it to arrive was not. This is a good restaurant so we must have just been there on an off day."

"We were a table of 5; 2 dine w/you frequently. Believe all enjoyed their food selections. Table choose from Restaurant Week menu and regular menu. I had the Sea Bass and calamari. Calamari prepared perfectly; bass nice and moist. Service top notch. Host picked an Italian chard. Enjoyed and wonder what it was. Overall a good experience."

"Had been a while since my last trip, but WOW was it great to be back at Piccolina Toscana! They do it ALL right. Menu had changed just a smidge since my last visit too but the great home made / hand made pastas were still on the menu! The girls got salads on this lunch visit, and they guys went with the pasta and the risotto (which was AMAZING!). Wish I could be there once a week like the old days! Great place, great food, great service."

"Food was outstanding. Atmosphere good. Service may normally be better, table next to us seemed to be drawing special attention resulting in our table being ignored from time to time... Took more the 10 minutes to order drinks, another 10 for them to arrive... Waited some time before we ordered and did not get another round of drinks for some time... Server ignored us to attend who were obviously guests of paner or management at table next to us. Once that table were getting dessert we were able to order dinner and received attentive service after. We were in no hurry so it was not a big deal. Food was incredible ."

"What a wonderful restaurant! I loved the small plates - my sister and I shared 3. We both had the Caprese salad as a test of how well they would do a standard item - it was the best version of the salad - fresh and delicious and perfectly dressed. The strawberries and raspberries in the dessert were perfectly ripe and went wonderfully with the mascarpone. Our server was very attentive. We never waited for anything and any questions we had, he could answer or found out the answers very quickly. I would highly recommend a visit and plan on returning."

"We have dined at Toscana before and have always had very good experience. It would have been just as good this time too if the food at the buffet table (some fresh from the kitchen)was at least warm rather than stone cold. Service was very good as always. May be this was an off day. What a pitty to have an off day on Easter."

"We were at Toscana recently for Easter Brunch. I was a little slow in getting reservations, so the earliest table time was 2:00 pm. I was a bit worried that we would be too late to have a good food selection, but that wasn't the case. The buffet was awesome, and the entrees were excellent as well. My daughter is a vegetarian, and there were plenty of options for her to choose from. Thanks, Toscana!"

"The food was great & so was the ambiance but the service was excellent. We had a good server who went above & beyond to help us decide on our meals. The bar scene was quiet & the bartender was pleasant. We had a good time & would surely go back as well as recommend this restaurant to others."

"My wife ordered 2 appetizers. The special was a risotto ball stuffed with cheese in tomato sauce. It was enjoyable. I had Pasta Bolognese with a side of veal meatballs. It was good, pasta and the sauce was also good."

"Our resevation was for 11:00. We got there 10 minutes early. The front door was locked and we had to wait outside. They should have let us in earlier. The food was very good. The waiter seemed annoyed that we had a coupon. I thought the brunch was going to be $30 and reduced to $20 with the coupon. Didn't realize the coupon came off the $40 for the 2 meals. Still, the waiter shouldn't have seemed annoyed about it."

"We are frequent customers of Piccolina Toscana although we hadn't been there in a few months. What a change! We used to love that restaurant. They've eliminated half-portions -- a big selling point as neither my husband nor I have big appetites and the food was not up to what we expect at Piccolina Toscana. My husband loves to order the capellini with shrimp, but he found the capellini dry and almost stale-tasting. My ravioli was fine, but much too big a portion for me to finish. On a Friday evening the restaurant was only half full. It used to be a very popular dining spot. Why has Piccolina Toscana changed a winning formula?"

"We have never had a bad experience at Toscana's, this evening included. I had the Polpo and the Cape Sante, and my husband had the Insalata alla Pance and the Risotto...all of which were delicious. And as an added bonus, Vice President Biden was dining there that night with his wife and some friends!"

"The best experience we have ever had at Toscana, on Valentine's Day no less! My husband and I chose the prix fixe "Dinner for Two," a value at only $75 per couple. Each of us chose a different antipasti, secondi and dolci, and ALL 6 were outstanding! Despite the fact that the restaurant was crowded, the service was excellent. Since our last visit, the wine offerings have been increased and improved, according to our server, because the former wine manager has returned. Toscana is back!!!"

"We had a terrific dinner to celebreate a girls night out - our server John was well versed in wines and also the menu offered at Toscano - he was very well informed about the specials and we were provided with excellent service in a fun atmosphere with great food - really great to have a spot like this close to home - great to know you can get great food and service in delaware without always having to drive to Philly!"

"We had a nice meal; we had read the portions were on the small side, so we ordered a few pizzas for the table to start. They were kind enough to bring out the birthday cake I had brought, and added some candles to it. They even sliced it up for us. A really nice birthday night."

"As it usually is, the food and service were very good. My only noteworthy observation is that the filet I ordered, while very nice, was extraordinarily tiny, ... perhaps 3 ounces."

"Extremely accomodating - didn't like our table and they went out of their way to accomodate us. Especially liked the 'small plates' - was able to enjoy an appetizer for the table, a salad, then a small plate, and still had room for dessert. Excellent restaurant if you are in the mood for a vibrant atmosphere but would not recommend this for a quiet romantic dinner for two."

"Went there early on Valentines Day our first since the remodel. One thing we noticed on the menu was that they have eliminated the small plate/large plate options on most of the items. Some are small and some are large but the creative option is gone.
Smallest filet I've ever seen but it was very good as is all the food we have there. Waiter was new and a little too attentive - every 5 minutes is a bit much. The wine selection by the bottle is very nice but by the glass is scant. Sometimes you just want a glass or two with dinner."

"Called hoping to get a last minute reservation for V-day, we got reservations for after 9. This is our go to for any occasion because everything is always FANTASTIC! You have to "know what to order where" for many places, but at Toscana EVERYTHING is a safe bet. Great people, great food, great place."

"Great menu and the specials are always the best. Dan keeps it fresh with additions based on the market availability and home made pasta. Amazing squid raviolis with tomato dish last night! If you don't have time for a dinner - their take out makes it easy to eat well on the go."

"We were somewhat disappointed during this visit. Last few times we ate here, we raved about it - food and service was out of this world. However, this time, that was not the case. After being seated, we waited for a full 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us with even a glass of water or greeting. Our first choice of "small plate" was "out" so our second choice was brought (wanted Steak Tartare but got Pance) . It was very small and hard to share, and just okay in taste. Also disappointed with the cheese in the Caprese - didn't taste fresh like real bufalo mozzarella which I expected. Tried the Figaro Pizzette - not as tasty as another restaurants' Fig flatbread that we just love. My risotta was very good though."
