"This restaurant was known for steaks and sushi. Neither is offered in the current menu. I ordered a steak medium rare and got a steak that was medium well. The staff was attentive and energetic but the food was disappointing at best."

"The service was attentive, the portions were generous. The food was good but not great. I did find the waiter was helpful and accommodating with a substitution I wanted to make with my meal."

"After a long flight across the country my wife and I were looking to grab a quick bite to eat. We decided to check out the hotel restaurant and we were very impressed. Are server Steven was very engaging and knowledgeable about the whole menu. We started out with some cocktails and then Steven suggested a bottle of organic red wine that paired very nicely with our meals. My wife had the butternut squash and I had the chicken marsala and they were both outstanding. Steven timed the wine and the courses perfectly and after a long agrivating flight to DC my wife and I left very happy."

"The staff was very friendly. Our waiter, Darrell, was friendly and attentive, with light conversation. The tables were spaced far enough apart that we didn't feel crowded at all. The food was very good. We had the appetizer sampler. The calamari was crisp and tender, not chewy. The pasta di mare was really good, as was the salmon. It's a nice gem by the Verizon Center, great for a preconcert dinner. We will return."

"The restaurant was very good. The food and the service was great. The only problem was that when we got there they seemed to be short staffed and no one was working the front desk. It made it difficult to check in with our reservation. We had to wait ten minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence. Other than that the rest of the experience was great. We were sat next to the fireplace which was really nice. Our server was really sweet and offered suggestions. The food was delicious as well."

"Wait staff demonstrated affable incompetence. The food was essentially tasteless and warm because if the excessive time under the heat lamp. Save your money and grab a hot dog at the street vender on the corner..."

"This is a hotel restaurant. I thought the food was very good. The server, Gordon, was timely and very nice. I will consider for future dining whenever I'm in DC."

"This place has potential, but no soul. The server was hard to locate. My $10 salad included some dry, overcooked chicken breast unfit for human consumption.ALthough the restaurant was 20% full, nobody dropped by to ask if I enjoyed my lunch. I had to chase down someone to bring me a check. They have potential, but I am not sure I would return."

"I made a last minute reservation with a work colleague and was wowed by the service we got. We sat with Steven in the dining room and he basically picked our meals for us by describing them in detail for us. I ended up having the salmon entree and it was so good very light and very flavorful. I started with a crab soup that was amazing, it had a generous portion of crab meat on it with cheese bacon and chives. I totally did not expect that kind of service or food quality from a hotel restaurant but i was blown away."

"Finn & Porter had a very nice ambience to it. The waiter we had was very courtesy and made a few nice suggestions on menu items. While the food was only moderately proportioned, it was very tasty."

"Party of 8 had no trouble conversing. Food was well-prepared and quite tasty. Service was excellent - separate checks were provided without us even asking for them."

"We chose F&P to eat before an Inaugural Ball based on the recommendation that it was a 'Romantic' location & we would escape the raucous celebration for a few minutes. Far from it... the restaurant was very loud with noise reverberating from the bar. We tried several tables in the restaurant, all were loud.
The food quality was OK. Portion size was good, price was fair for a downtown DC. We had chicken picatta, somewhat bland. The service was a real disappointment. Initially met by a very enthusiastic & attentive waiter. But after the food was served... he literally disappeared! I had to track down another waiter after 20 minutes and ask for our check."
