Chef Bill Telepan acclaimed former chef of the 3-star Judson Grill will serve the very best and freshest of seasonal foods impeccably prepared and paired with an interesting, hand- picked and reasonably priced selection of wines. Ruth Reichl described his cooking as “…extremely eloquent; each of [his] unassuming dishes roars with flavor, and the minute you finish one bite you instantly want another. His direct style draws diners into a vibrant interplay of textures, tastes and colors.” Telepan, an exciting new destination located in the heart of the Upper West Side, will welcome fine dining enthusiasts from around the city, as well as the pre- and post-theater Lincoln Center crowd. The restaurant will feature multiple fireplaces, a wine room, and intimate lighting.

"had been there before for dinner-it was great! Went back for Mothers' brunch-it was dissappointing.Food was very average,sevice was slow and our table was probably the worst one in the facility-right next to the door going into the kitchen-very very busy. We had specifically asked for a quiet table when we made our resevation on Open Table-so much for that request."

"Great food, great service. Telepan is the restaurant you've been looking for but cannot seem to find. The frequency of our visits keeps growing, and the quality of the experience remains top notch. High level consistency and excellence is hard to find. The restaurant's configuration also allows for a wide range of dining experiences from the romantic dinner for two to the celebratory dinner for eight."

"There are not that many interesting restaurants around Lincoln Center focusing on fresh market meats, fish and produce beautifully prepared in a Nouveau American fashion. Telepan has stood the test of time. I've eaten here on numerous occasions when pre-Opera was the order of the day. I have never been disappointed. Sometimes I don't have dessert, which is a mistake. Desserts are fabulous."

"This was my second dinner at Telepan, this one on a weekday evening at 7:00. Food is delicious and creative. Service attentive and friendly. A place in which you can hold a conversation without straining. I'll keep returning. My daughter loves it, because she's a pescatarian (vegetarian who eats fish and seafood, but not land animals), and she finds plenty to order here. It's pricey, but well worth it for a nice evening out."

"Our foursome enjoyed its first visit to Telepan last week, for a Saturday brunch. The brunch menu does not carry standard breakfast items. It is more a lunch menu that incorporates eggs in a few dishes. It is an interesting and tempting menu, however, and we all found plenty that appealed. The food was good, if more intensely seasoned than expected, and attractively presented. The service was very good: professional and friendly. The space is inviting and elegant. There are acoustic tiles that are tastefully incorporated into the ceiling decor. I wish more restaurants would follow this welcome example. After all, the ability to converse easily with one's table mates much heightens the dining experience. To sum it up: Telepan does it right."

"I've read a lot of reviews and articles about this place and was really looking forward to it. The space is nice. Warms colors, comfortable, subdued in UWS sort of way. Great looking wine cellar. The service is attentive at most times. The food, however, was just ok. We had duck and pork entrees. Both were ok doneness (pork was a bit over done), but i felt like there was a LOT of meat (even for the price) but the rest of the plate was bare. And overall, i didn't feel like there was a good representation of seasonal ingredients (2 ramps do not count) which is what all the buzz about this place all about. I must say i did enjoy the oysters that came with a very spring-like mignonette."

"The service was excellent, although I can't understand why they tried to dim the lighting for a Sunday brunch! I would prefer some plain rolls as well as the sweet selection and more butter would be good. The food was very good. Definitely one of the best places on the West Side for brunch."

"This is the second time I have taken a group to Telepan. The service is great and the restaurant is very comfortable. We sat for 3 hours without being the least bit rushed. "I took my wife there for her birthday prior to a show. The staff was great with eveything from making sure our water glass were alway full to making sure we got all our food with plenty time for a nice leisurely walk to the theater. The food was great we love everything we order and at looked as good as it tasted (I recommend the tasting menu). I'm more than sure that the next time we are in the area we will be going back to Telepan."

"Comfortable, well-appointed room, without the tables being cramped. Preparation of every bit of food was excellent. Dishes were interesting, but not over-the-top. The wine list showed real care in assembling the choices. Service was always attentive, but not intrusive. High-end dining; a bit conservative, but not reactionary."

"I love brunch at Telepan and have been there too many times to count... though this time I was disturbed that me and my guest were seated less that 18 inches away from two extremely talkative women who lingered through our entire brunch time, and they had already completed theirs when we arrived. The entire time we were there, there was an empty table for two right next to us on the wall which would have separated us at least a few more feet. So, I was very disappointed that they didn't seat us in that empty space or even move us . It was great food, but not good environment.
I'll definitely be back, but will insist on being moved if next to rambunctious people!"

"Lots of options for brunch. Could do the pre-fix menu or order each item off the menu. the waiter encouraged the pre-fix, felt it a better value. We did not feel at all rushed. Food came quickly and hot and it was fine to sit around. I would return. The pancakes, French toast and omlet were all a hit."

"The kitchen ruined an expensive ribeye steak for two by carving the meat WITH rather than AGAINST the grain -- this causing the meat texture to be grainy and tough. What a pity
Although the item was removed from the bill, the management response did not acknowledge the problem and said that it was OK to carve the meat this way.
Waiter was imperious."

"We came here for lunch. The food was excellent. We started with the vegetable bread soup, seasonal salad, and beet salad (there were three of us) and all three were very tasty.for main course I had the pan-roasted trout, my friend had the bass and the third guest, a vegetarian, was offered a chef vegetarian surprise dish. Everything was excellent! We cleaned our plates. We were not rushed. When we wanted explanations, we got them clearly and nicely. We shared desserts: pineapple fritters, Telepan 'hot chocolate' and the peanut butter & chocolate gainful a. They were all wonderful. I would absolutely return."

"I've enjoyed Telepan several times before for dinner, this is a first for brunch. Great variety that is all fresh and not your everyday selection. Food quantity is just right - not too much, not too little. Drinks are yummy. Great place for a relaxing brunch where you can talk and linger."

"A delicious meal. Fantastic fresh bread. Beet salad was sublime. Heritage Pork was a meat eaters dream. the Arctic Char was perfect and fresh. And the night we wnet there wasa side of fresh asparagus that was coked to perfection. Only drawback i find with Telepan is its lack of wine offerings for anything less than $60/bottle with most in $80 and up price range. We had two bottles between 4 people adding $125 to the bill. Great food does not need to have very expensive wine when there is plenty of very good wine out there for considerably less..."

"The first time at the restaurant was just ok...they forgot my birthday candle. The second time at the restaurant they made up for it by giving us 3 free desserts. So, if your celebrating a special birthday, make sure you speak to your waiter beforehand(although my husband did call the manager beforehand...I guess there was a miscommunication) In any event, they made up for it. The food is very good! So I would highly recommend it."
