"I come here often for dinner and drinks with my friends. Its a great spot for good drinks and great food. My most recent experiance was mediorce just because our waitress wasn't friendly and didn't make me feel comfortable, and the food portions were smaller than usual. Overall I still love this place. Iam hoping this was just a bad night."

"It's very important to ask for a seat in the back of the restaurant, otherwise, it's way too noisy. We had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes. Thes service was very good and the food quite tasty. I should mention it's just a chinese restaurant with modern American window dressing. But the food (while a bit expensive) is very good."

"Food was great. We went for a dinner party, not realizing that the restaurant doubles as a night club on Thursday nights. The bar area was crowded when we got there at 6:30 and it was packed solid by the time we tried to leave at 9:00. It was so noisy that conversation with anyone other than the person immediately next to you was near impossible without yelling. Lesson learned, and I don't see it very likely we would chose this setting for another nice quiet evening out with friends."

"We had a good dining experience at Sino. Our server was attentive and very accommodating in terms of trying to make things right for us. We ordered a vegetable dish, among others, and it came much later than the rest of our meal. Our server apologized for his mistake then credited the dish on our bill to compensate for the inconvenience. That was greatly appreciated as it showed good customer service on his part. We would definitely dine there again."

"we came here for valentines day and had reservations at 4pm. We were waiting for 25 mins before we were seated. It was very disappointing that they were not prepared for the late afternoon reservations. There were several people waiting and upset. The Hostess (all of them) were not very attentive or proactive they sat around chatted, drank and definitely had no concern. I like Sino for their weekend and happy hour vibe. The food is okay depends on the what you order. But this was the 2nd time we have had a really bad experience. I had to convince my fiance to stay. The organization, planning, time mgmnt, staffing was so bad I was embarassed for them. Our poor server had to deal with the chaos, we knew it wasn't her fault."

"The food at this place is always solid, however the girls at the check in counter-- and I say that because they are very immature and dont have a clue whats going on -- are the worst hostesses on the planet. Once you get past the seating fiasco you will have a great time. The wait staff is excellent but the hostess situation makes it difficult to recommend. This is not a one time occurrence. I have been to this restaurant off and on for nearly 3 years hoping it will be better and it doesnt seem to change."

"Even with a reservation, we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. Hostess kept telling us we would be next. Then we were seated in a far back corner, by ourselves, where we could not see the rest of the restaurant. Service was extremely slow. I asked our server to help advise me with menu items that were non-gluten. Before she came back with recommendations from the kitchen, we were served an appetizer that did have gluten but were not warned of that. Apology came later. Food was good, but not much to choose from if you have need non-gluten. Will probably not go back again."

"As much as I love the food here and LOVE to get my 'Asian/Fusion' food fix, I am constantly reminded why I hate giving Sino my custom!!
The restaurant hosts always seem to come across as rude and aloof! I have even had a problem with attitude from female bartenders - there is just no need for it! I am the customer - please make me feel welcome and that my custom is appreciated!
The servers are generally good and although the food usually comes out nice and quick, we find that it can take a loooooong time to get served a bottle of Champagne!
They have good outside patio dining here, but if you don't get one of the tables on Santana Row, you feel a little hidden away when seated around the side of the building...."

"Our dinner was amazing. We were celebrating a birthday and they were more than accommodating. We had reservations and didn't have to wait. Our waitress was really friendly and had a great smile on her face the entire time. She was also very knowledgeable about the menu and pretty much helped make our night go from a good night out to a fantastic, memorable one. The food was amazing, the ambiance was so nice. We all can't wait to go back!"

"Though I've had hit-or-miss experiences with Sino in the past (mostly related to service), I enjoyed my experience that day. The Mai Gai (lotus-leaf wrapped sticky rice with chicken and sausage) were generous and fun, and the won ton soup, though small, had lovely shrimp dumplings and broccoli rabe. Though service still seemed lackadaisical for a semi-deserted early lunch hour, my server was friendly and helpful."

"We were here on New Years Eve. Food was excellent and there wasn't a prix fixe menu, which was nice. This is still my favorite restaurant in Santana Row. The food is always good and not overly expensive (although it can get pricey with drinks). The service is great too."

"I LOVE the food here - its fresh, flavorful, modern and presented beautifully. Plus it has a range of vegetarian dim-sum options that I love. The cocktails are great too! However the place is too noisy and the service is a hit-or-miss - thankfully the day we went, we got pretty good service. If you can reconcile the hit-or-miss service, this is a great place to have a meal on a special occasion and/or when you're dining in a group"
