"We had reserved for 5 at noon. I called back saying that it would be more like 12:15 to 12:30 and could/would we be able to have a water view? She said, "Well, is it 12:15 or 12:30? I said somewhere in there and she repeated the question. So, I said 12:30. Regards the water she said, We will do what we can." We walked in at 12:30 and there was NO ONE IN THE RESTAURANT. There were a few outside!! Obviously, they could have "flexed" their schedule in my 15 minute window. We were seated - and it's a lovely place with both black and white napkins. Ordered some waters and some wines and I had to ask again for lemons for the waters. Asked if bread came with lunch and he said "Not Usually" and some time later brought "just enough"."

"The food was very good and abundant, people were friendly and gracious, but the service was lacking at times. I felt that we waited too long for the second bottle of wine to arrive, to the point that we were all nearly finished our meals (some of us actually had already finished). Sou or salad were served to all but one of us, who had to wait and flag someone to bring it."

"We went to Chart House to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately someone from the restaurant accidentally dropped a full plate of steak and potatoes on my husband's back while we were eating. My husband is a good sport and made light of it, but he was a mess and we had to change our plans and cone home after dinner. We did get apologies and they comped our dessert (which seemed kind of cheap considering what happened) and offered to pay for dry cleaning, which we won't pursue bc the shirt cleaned up ok, but what a nightmare!!! And on our anniversary! We'll still return to the restaurant. Food is good and location is great. Think the manager that night was a bit inexperienced in handling these types of things. Otherwise, good place"

"I was very disappointed in the Tampa Charthouse. For Easter dinner, a continuation of the day long buffet was provided. Much of the food was overcooked and in some cases they ran out of food. For a 7:00 PM reservation for a party of seven, the meal was a dud."

"Chart House was only having a buffet. This was not mentioned by the Hostess or waitress till after we had ordered cocktails. No menu items were able to be ordered. Food quality was marginal. Price was high and not in keeping with similarly priced buffet food taste, quality and experience. Bill for two was over $110 with only two drinks. Although they did serve cotton candy.
A table of 5 was seated went to look at the buffet and then left. We should of done the same.
Open Table did have a generic statement in its reservation email that "Some restaurants do have prixe fixe menus" We didn't heed that warning.
Based on this experience, I would not return. If there is a buffet only - just leave"

"The Chart House was a nice place to eat with a beautiful view of the water. You can eat outside or inside. On the inside the tables were spaced nicely with a nice quiet ambience. The appetizers were delicious - the tuna and the crabcake. The spring rolls were good. The cooking of fish and seafood was not consistent. The salmon and scallops were cooked perfectly. Another fish was totally overdone. The desserts were very good. We would eat there again."

"Noticing my wife had on black slacks and swapping out the white napkin was the start of superior service. Smiles by all attendants added to a most deliciously prepared and served meal. This was a most enjoyable 25th anniversary dinner. Have experienced Chart House in Jacksonville, Lake Tahoe also. Always a good recommendation."

"dined at the Chart House on Tues, 2/22. The Tampa water system had problems and water had to be boiled before use. The Chart House was totally unprepared. Rather than offering us some run-of the mill bottled water, we had to buy water. The lobster bisque had chunks of "fishy stuff" in it...not lobster...texture remined me of the "lung tissue". My steak was rare, as requested, but not charred rare as I ordered and steak was not well trimmed. Also steak was barely lukewarm. Waiter given too many areas to serve had to ask other servers to find him.. Felt rushed when 2 male hosts removed things from our table without asking. Can't take guests there..too bad, nice deck & view."

"We noted it was our anniversary on the reservation and requested seating with a nice view. We got there early for the happy hour and got discounted prices on drinks and appetizers. Outdoor seating was great, right on the water with a nice view. Appetizers were fine. When it was time for our reservation we were seated inside near the window. They had our names printed on the top of the menu. Food and service was great. The clam chowder and lobster bisque was excellent. Stuffed flounder came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, so it was a pretty good deal considering sides usually cost extra. It tasted great. The Lobster Francese was likewise very good. Of course we had to try the molten lava cake and it did not disappoint. Great experience."

"We had a business dinner on Valentine's Day evening, kind of weird, but it was the only time we could meet. The restaurant was slow when we arrived, an hour late, for our table, due to bad weather, but I was sure they had given up our table. Not at all, they seated us, and let us remain at the table while we waited for our business partners to arrive. Again, due to bad weather they were very late, and the server continued to be gracious, never rushing us and allowing us to take up a prime table on a what turned into a very busy night. I think the Chart House values great service and their customers, above anything else and they confirmed that for us on Valentine's night. What could have been a very bad experience was instead, wonderful"

"We went to the Chart House for our 10th anniversary and were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the negative reviews posted. Upon arrival the hostess honored our request for a window seat and the view was outstanding. My wife ordered the grouper special and I ordered the salmon special and both were excellent. Our waiter was friendly, informative and very efficient. Needless to say it was a memorable anniversary for both of us."
