"I loved the restaurant but I didn't care for the striped marlin I ordered. I ENDED UP EATING SOME OF MY HUSBAND's Prime Rib because I didn't't like my fish. I loved the table in front of the fireplace and the salad. I wish the restaurant would have been open Mon and Tues because we ended up EATING at the Range Steakhouse at Harrahs since there wasn't an anything similar at the Ameristar."

"The food was Outstanding!! This is a great steak house. We have never have bad food.
The service is always good even on Christmas Day!! We have gone there the last 3 years.
But this last time the service was terrible!! We had to wait way to long for the waiter to come.Had to hail down 3 different waiter to help us. Also I did notice that where we were sitting had a draft, but in the other rooms it was very nice."

"Where has Maitre D' Cristian gone? He was a big and appreciated part of our dining experience! He always greeted us - made us feel special - a perfect gentlemen, a professional host! Thankfully chef Bob and servers John and Steve are still on top of their games... but this a big downgrade for this fine establishment!! What gives?"

"Had a great time celebrating our friends birthday even though the weather was awful. Christina was very professional and took very good care of us. The mushroom appetizer was to die for, and the scallops were cooked to profection. Hope the weather is better next time so that we can enjoy some cocktails too!"

"Our table was great we sat in a booth right in front of the fireplace. The service was fine nothing to make note of. After reading other reviews we had very high hopes for the food and felt that the food fell short. I had the prime rib which was very blan in flavor, the aujus it was served with tasted watered down. The best part of the meal was the dinner salad. At $20 a plate we will go elsewhere next time."

"I usually decline to go out on Valentine's Day as both food and service is sub-par. This was not the case at Great Plains. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. Our server was attentive, freindly and helpful. Prime rib was cooked just right for my taste(medium). We totally enjoyed our dinner and the nice atmosphere."

"Excellent food and service! Enjoyed the evening. The salmon and steak were cooked to perfection and the creamed corn tasted like it was fresh from the cob and real cream was used. The only dark spot was in one of the baked potatoes, but was still edible. The ladies received a really beautiful rose on the way out, which was a really classy thing to do and the rose is still beautiful after four days."
