"One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, food was outstanding, prices were very reasonable. It was my wife's birthday and they decorated the table and even had a personalized specials list.
Incredible service all around from a restaurant that seemed very well organized and prepared from start to finish. This was beyond a home run. We'll be going back."

"Yet another superb meal at Mango! Service and food is always top notch and has made this one of our favorite dining destinations. I think what means the most here is the service; they are genuine about what they do and it shows. Host, servers, bussers, managers, everyone seems to love being here. The best thing about this place is they've attracted a fabulous crowd who shares their enthusiasm about great food and service. They're always busy, but it's not full of all the pretentious St. Louis socialites who say it's good just because that's what some publication told them. We've started to make reservations to ensure we have a table, but we don't mind, even when they're running behind they make us feel special."

"Mango is a wonderful find in the heart of Washington Ave. The food is creative, enticing, and always delicious! We have worked closely with the staff on two group functions, and are also regular diners. Their Mango Mojitos and Sangria are amazing, and complement their food offerings. My husband is half Honduran and half Columbian, so the similar flavors of Peruvian cuisine taste like home!"

"We were in St. Louis and chose Mango based on Open Table and St. L magazine reviews. We know nothing at all about Peruvian food, but decided to give it a try. It was a wonderful meal for the four of us. Our server couldn't have been more helpful explaining the dishes, and he did so without being condescending. Aji sauce with fried plantain chips was a refreshing amuse bouche. Everything we ordered was delicious: Anticuchos (skewers), langostinos, empanadas, an avocado salad, and several of the specials with names we can't recall. I had the best ceviche I've ever tasted.
The ambiance was more on the casual side rather than the romantic.
If I lived in St. Louis this would definitely be on my list of restaurants to go to fairly often."

"We had a great meal here. The starters were all excellent, the waiter recommended 5 or 6 for a party of 6 and it was just the right amount. All of the meals were excellent (salmon special, tenderloin, chicken dish). Dessert did no disappoint either it was very good. Service was a tad slow and drinks from the bar took a little longer than expected. It didn't matter though our entire party was pleased with the restaurant."

"This review is based on a weekday lunch. I feel the need to inform you all of the day/meal time since I'm sure the above information would be slightly different on, say, a Friday night dinner scene. Don't get me wrong, I still think the food would be fantastic, but the noise level might be louder, and the bar (which looked impressive on sight) might be vibrant and busy, etc. Either way, Mango had great ambiance, great food, and *GREAT SERVICE* -- and while this was my first visit, I enjoyed it enough to automatically make it one of my "go-to" places, especially for business meals. The highlight for me (besides the Saltado De Langostinos - yum!) was the desert: Pionono, I believe it's called. Scrumptious. Highly recommend!"

"Stopped in for lunch while at a conference and asked the waitress if there were any vegan options. After going back to check with the chef, the she recommended a salad or the saltado de champignones. I love mushrooms and went with the dish over pasta. While waiting, I munched on the delectable banana chips and cilantro dip, so yummy! My food came out very quickly and was so fresh, so tasty and vegan! I was pleasantly surprised and could not stop raving about it to my half Peruvian husband back home because I usually cannot eat Peruvian food. Everything was wonderful, my favorite restaurant in St. Louis!"

"Two groups of international educators ate at Mango for lunch on 30 May 2013. The staff were very friendly and the food absolutely delicious. The menu items were unique and very reasonably priced. Members of the group from outside Missouri (coast to coast) were amazed at the quality at those prices. The only negative was that our waiter for one of the two groups of seven, though very friendly and helpful, got our orders somewhat confused and then half of our bills wrong (forgetting to add our beverages and that we needed itemized lists for our universities). Overall, though, a wonderful experience."

"The food was excellent. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the drink menu as well as the food menu. We were a bit undecided and he definitely steered us in the right direction. Definitely try the "Crackberry" cocktail and save room for desert. I was skeptical to order the chocolate cake--they are often to dry. The chocolate cake was moist and utterly decadent."

"Patio dining at Mango was a good downtown experience. The table had plantain chips with a green dip that had just the right amount of kick for the thinly sliced chips. The waitress had a bit of trouble bringing the side of bread (add'l $3 chg for what turned out to be plain jane french bread), as the soup (excellent aquadito de pollo, a small portion served in an unnecessarily gigantic bowl) and shrimp (good angostinos al ajo) orders were eaten before it arrived, and then compounded that lack of attention by bringing frozen pats of foil covered butter long after the bread had cooled. The entrees of beef stew and lomo saltado were nicely spiced peruvian style with tender beef and succulent sauce. Dessert was ok. Lime cocktail great."

"I recently ate at Mango to celebrate my boyfriend's med school graduation. The staff were extremely accommodating. They even decorated the table with confetti in my boyfriend's school colors, which made the meal extra special. Most of our party members had never tried Peruvian cuisine, but our waitress walked us through the menu and gave great suggestions. "Was in St. Louis with a friend for a conference, had never been to the city, Mango looked exciting. All dishes looked appetizing, but decided on 5 small plates, to try more things. The avacado in the palta rellena was perfectly ripe, looked like it was served with purple corn. Masa in the tamal was moist and delicious, no dry. Six shrimp in the langostinos al ajo were a nice size, and shaved garlic added a kick. Wasn't sure about the raisins in the emanadas, but the mix of sweet and savory were delightful. The pascualina was the Peruvian answer to Greek spanakopita. Loved it! Pitcher of sangria was large, and the flan was a light way to end the meal. Felt is was a great value for quality food! Would definitely return if in St. Louis!"

"I came here with my boyfriend after graduation and had a wonderful experience. When we arrived, our table was covered in blue curled ribbons for my graduation from SLU. There was also a personalized menu that said congratulations. Service was incredible, at one point there were 4 attentive servers at our table side. The food was incredible, and so was the sangria. I would definitely come back here again."

"We took a group of six to Mango Peruvian for Mother's Day dinner, and our first time experience there was outstanding. They were very accommodating as our reservation group size fluctuated ahead of time. Once there, everyone was extremely friendly and attentive, the mothers all received a complimentary drink, which all thought was delicious, and everyone raved about their food and the service. Prices are very reasonable indeed. The building in which it is located is somewhat "industrial", but the restaurant is very inviting, and the high ceiling helps keep noise down, such that conversation was quite easy. Definitely on our list for a return visit."

"went to mango for mothers days.. it thought it would be packed and was surprised to find it wasnt. which turned out to be =good for me since i had another engagement. the server was knowledgeable and friendly, food came out fast, and my trout salad was above average. nothing to scream about it did the trick. i had a peruvian drink a pisco sour ...now was awesome. if you ever go make sure to get that drink."

"I brought out of town guests here this past Saturday, and they loved it. The salmon special was particularly wonderful - and the Aji de Gallina was very tasty as always. Four of us split a pitcher of the sangria - 2 glasses each - which worked out well."

"We have been meaning to try Mango for a few years now and have finally made it there. So happy that we did. It was terrific. The service was wonderful from the Bartender to the waitstaff. Thier bar is big enough that you can still have a pre-dinner drink without being edged out by those diners that insist on eating at the bar. The Food was awesome. We had a great time and will definitely be back."

"This Peruvian restaurant was pretty good.

"Negative points:
- our table wasn't ready when we arrived, and I had maid a reservation so we had to wait for few minutes
- they charge you 2$?guest to split your dishes in two, but the server don't say it, so you have the surprise when you pay the bill..
- the dishes takes too long to arrive on our table, we were a big group, and the dishes didn't arrived at the same time, some people were waiting while others were eating..not fun
- the portions are a kind of too small

"I often order mussels in a restaurant. These PEI mussels were pretty much the best I have ever eaten--plump and perfectly prepared. The ceviche mixto, with halibut, scallops, shrimp and mussels, was a dish that one does not often find. It was delicious. Overall, a wonderful post-theatre dining experience."

"My wife and I loved this place! Everything was great from the plantain chip and green dip (sorry can't remember the name, but I wanted to eat it with a spoon) to the small plates to the salad, main course and delicious dessert. Oh, and the bottle of Malbec was fantastic and very reasonably priced. I wish I new the names to everything to do them better justice. All I can say is everything we had was authentic Peruvian deliciousness and we can't wait to go back. Our waitress Wendy was great! She was very friendly, knowledgeable and really helped us out with our decisions.

"Started off with a bottle of the peruvian red wine and Ceviche de pescado. The ambiance is perfect, we had a fantastic waiter(unable to recall his name). There was a group of about 15 young ladies on the other side of the restaurant(probably bachelorette party) which was noisy/energetic in burst.
For the main course, we had a SALTADO DE LANGOSTINOS , and AJI DE GALLINA which were delicious; ended the night with TORTA DE CHOCOLATE- can never go wrong with chocolate.

"The appetizers and the drinks (especially the Sangria) are excellent. They make really great dishes with red meat and seafood. However, I tried the shredded chicken this time, as it was featured in Sauce magazine. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a bad choice; the dish was very bland, devoid of any flavor the sauce was supposed to bring. When I communicated this to our waiter, he said another table had also sent that dish back that very night. I skipped directly to dessert. The flan was a little disappointing, but pionono is a quite nice, warm little dessert."

"We had a wonderful experience here on our last visit. Mango has stepped up the quality of its food noticeably. "I’m not a connoisseur of Peruvian food, but this is a wonderfully tasteful blend of Peruvian spices and cooking techniques, and innovative recipes. We were skillfully advised by our knowledgeable waiter on what dishes to get, and ordered an additional entreé knowing we would be taking food back with us. They have the menu arranged by ‘small’ and ‘large’ plates, which facilitates sampling several appetizer or tapas styled dishes instead of an entreé. There are also specialty drinks and their take on sangria is excellent, the best I’ve ever experienced. "We were welcomed with warmth and treated with the utmost courtesy during our recent visit to Mango Peruvian Restaurant.
We planned our dinner at Mango as our 25th anniversary celebration for just the two of us. We were served complimentary champagne which topped off the evening!

In our reservation, we asked for special accommodations related to noise reduction and it was granted. We were seated at table in the corner,which was absolutely perfect.
