Cafe 2825
Cafe 2825 is a`"Neighborhood Italian" restaurant 1 block up from
Tropicana and "The Quarter". The Lautato family has been serving simple Italian-American cuisine in upscale casual style since arriving from Brooklyn in 1986.
Joseph is the host of this 14 table intimate, white tablecloth restaurant. His warmth and friendliness make the Cafe a favorite of locals and casino guests.
He travels to his hometown of Brooklyn each week for the necessary ingredients to keep the Cafe as authentic as you would find a NY or Philly nieghborhood. On any evening you will find Ginny, his wife, behind the bar, Jackie, his daughter, waiting on tables and Momma Rose's recipes in the kitchen. These are a few of the reasons locals frequent Cafe 2825. The difficulty in obtaining reservations reflects all the passion in the restaurant.

"My husband and I were in AC for the wkend. We dined at Cafe 2825 on a Sat. night. We had early reservations this time because we had a concert to go to at 8p. Everything was a "10"! The ambiance, service and especially the food were outstanding. You can never go wrong eating here. Plus you are away and out of the casino!"

"My husband and I are soo glad we tried this restaurant. We came here a couple of months ago and now are making it a MUST everytime we visit. We love everything about this place. The food, service and ambiance are excellent. We were pleasantly surprised that the owner and wait staff remembered us upon our arrival for our second visit. We will be back again and again and again and again......."

"The menu selection and food quality was outstanding. My only complaint would be the pricy drink prices. Ten dollars for a glass of house wine and eleven dollars for a gin is too much. My biggest surprise was getting charged for a refill of soda. Six dollars for two cokes is outrageous. Anyplace else refills are complimentary."

"Food quality varied...bronzino excellent, chicken parm didn't have enough chicken. NY Style cheesecake excellent, spinach in oil & garlic, bland. Very expensive because it's a la carte. One glass of wine, one soda, one Caesar salad, one spinach, one chicken parm, one bronzino, one cheesecake with tip: $133. There are so many other Italian restaurants in AC whose food is as good and are much less expensive, I cannot recommend 2825."

"I chose to go to Cafe 2825 for dinner, with my husband and a friend, based on other good reviews on the internet, and we were not disappointed (It turned out that our friend had been there many times before).
Cafe 2825 small, cozy restaurant which was full at the time we were there, but we did not feel crowded and the noise level was moderate. We all thought the food was delicious and the service was very attentive. We all thought the artichoke appetizer, which was unusual, was particularly good, and I had a glass of white wine sangria, which i thought was the best sangria i had ever had!

I would definitely go back and would recommend Cafe2825 to friends, but not without a warning that it is on the expensive side."

"We have drove past this restaurant time and time again and always stated oh we have to try that place...shame on me for waiting this long. I am originally from The Bronx and my cousin owns a restaurant and this reminded us of that kind of food without driving three hours, true Italian! The staff was very accommodating and very nice, I had flowers sent to the restaurant for our anniversary and there was no issue."

"We were very pleased with Cafe 2825,we went there for my sisters birthday weekend in AC.The food was great the aroma of sauce was amazing ,and it tasted even better. The baked clams were the best I have had in a long time.The sangria was so good it had fresh fruit in it,blueberries too.The restaurant is not huge but not tiny either,it has a warm welcoming feeling.If you want great food and a nice atmosphere this is the place to go.Will be going back for sure!"

"While looking for places to eat while on a weekend trip I wanted to stay away from the casino glitz and fake lights. I found this restaurant and was not disappointed. Dad was cooking. Mom was hostess and working the bar. Daughter was our waitress. She asked Dad to suggest a wine from the few I was having a hard time deciding between. He was dead on! The food was great! The artichoke was as advertised. It took a little work but worth the effort. Sunday Gravy dinner was awesome. Real nice sauce! My wife could only finish less than half of her dinner it was so big. "Lets just say it was very sinful.....the foreplay began with fresh Asparagus (slightly breaded and sauteed) with Fresh Tomato Sauce and melted Mozzarella, followed by a slight kiss of Anchovy paste on the romaine hearts Caesar, just enough to be slightly on the salty side, then it just gets deep with a Wild Mushroom light Cream Sauce with very wide and tender homemade egg noodles. The climax for me was a moist rich orange ricotta cake.....Oh God.....Oh, forgot to mention that of course this was accompanied by a very nice bottle Italian red. I had to vow not to return to this restaurant this evening again. The temptation is too much to handle!!"

"We had great service, amazing food (the mushroom pasta and veal chop are outstanding), and a very good bottle of wine that was recommended by our server and was discounted as the wine bottle special for the evening. Also, not sure what other reviewers ordered, but our portions were large.
Despite it being a very busy evening at the restaurant, our servers were very attentive and we were visited by the owners of the restaurant as well. I would highly recommend Café 2825."

"The owner/bartender was very rude and made us sit in a tiny table for two by claiming the nicer table for 4 we had selected was booked and the people would be arriving soon. After 2 hours and we were finished the table for 4 was still empty.
We are locals to AC and will NEVER return to this restaurant as long as she is still the owner and we will make certain to tell all our friends to avoid this restaurant."

"We went in with high expectations based on other reviews and were disappointed. Service was okay. Spending $9 on a glass of Cupcake I can buy a bottle at the same price bothers me. My dish did not come with pasta, for $6 I ordered a side. The sauce was delicious yet it did not make up for the 8, yes I counted, the 8 rigatoni that came with it. My main dish was eggplant parmigiana rather than the chicken, it was good, but nothing better than we order at the pizza pace down the street. My husband got the Sunday Gravy, it was good and a nice treat to have braciole. The meatball was good but if you want great, Angelo's down the street is much better. When we go out for Southern Italian we want decent portion sizes, not trendy meets Italian."

"My fiance and I eat out a lot so saying this was our finest meal ever really says something. From the reservations to them calling us a cab they went out of their way to make us feel at home. There was such a variety of different dishes that we shared two appetizers, a salad, an entree, and portions of 3 desserts! You must try the whole artichoke app and the meatball salad, wow! The owner even took time to talk with us for a few minutes after our meal. Truly an amazing experience. Go now!"

"If you are looking for authentic Italian food for a great price, this is the place to be! In addition to that, the owners and staff made you feel so "at home". We ordered the Caesar salad prepared table-side...the BEST Caesar salad I have ever had, and the chef explained everything that went into it when we asked. We will definitely be going back!"
