'This spacious, romantic eatery pairs contemporary Italian cuisine with great views of Boston's historic North End. Bacco's first floor is home to a beautiful mahogany and granite bar where patrons drink from an extensive wine list and catch sports highlights on one of two flat-screen TVs. The restaurant's French doors are open during warmer months, allowing guests to feel like part of the action along Salem Street. Diners on the more formal second level devour plates of linguini carbonara, chicken cacciatore and lobster ravioli while enjoying views of the city.'- Citysearch Boston
"Growing up Italian I've been weaned, and later spoiled, on authentic italian cooking. So I'm very critical when I judge restaurant-served Italian food. On Mother's day at Bacco's I ordered the pasta with sausage and rabe and, to my surprise, I enjoyed it very much. The flavors I had expected were all present in my dish. I also tasted my companion's Veal dish and it was very good. The Calamari appetizer was tender and tasty and the Caprese salad had quartered whole tomatoes the size of tennis balls with generous portions of mozzarella. The hostess that afternoon was thoughtful and patient in accomodating us, and our server was attentive. All-in-all a very good experience and I would spend my money here again, any time. e' Molto Buono"

"Great Food with a flair. Not a tourist trap, a lot of locals. Bar active and fun and on nice days open windows. The apps are great and their special ravioli is awesome. They will adapt to special food request. Will Be Back."

"Takes reservations which is nice, as not all restaurants do in the North End. Food was very good as was the service: attentive without overpowering. Good basic Italian menu. Kept replacing great tasting bread basket for hungry teens without even asking and filled water glasses. Reasonable price point for quality and quantity of food. Seafood Risotto was excellent with visible pieces of lobster, scallops and large shrimp. Gnocchi was also tasty. Portion sizes were large and service was well paced, not too fast or slow. Enjoyed raspberry ricky martini with real raspberry puree. Seating in upstairs was airy and light with windows looking out on N. End streets."

"This is our "go-to" place in the North End and we dine in the North End at least a couple times a month. It's the place we take out of town guests because the food is consistently excellent. It's not just standard Italian like chicken parmesean, but more creative Italian yet not intimidating. The staff is especially knowledgeable, attentive and friendly too."

"This was my first visit to Bacco. Really like the space and people who work there. I had eggplant parm and a spinach salad. Spinach salad was delicious. Eggplant was good, but not the way I like it prepared. So, my review is influenced by my strong personal preferences on the dish. I will definitely try it again and recommend it."

"My husband & I went here to celebrate my birthday. Food was delicious! Hubby had veal parmigiana with ceasar salad & I had chicken piccata with caprese salad. Everything was amazing! Wine selection was greay too. Plus, the service was fantastic! From our hostess to the waiter to the bartender, everyone was friendly, attentive, helpful and all had a warm smile on their face. If you want a great meal, good drinks and a nice night out, I highly recommend Bacco."

"Ok. Not great. Acutally made res at wrong restaurant. Wanted to go to Bricco a block away but didn't realize I'd typed incorrect name when making res. No comparison to Bricco so rather disappointed. Almost left when realized it was wrong place but decided to give it a try figuring it would be impossible to get res at Bricco so late. Food had a bit too much oil & was only ok. Menu limited."

"Came for restaurant week and was blown away by the amazing dishes and attentiveness of our waiter. The only things I didn't like were very small things: stairs to go upstairs to seating (not that I didn't like it, just didn't prefer it, my boyfriend has a hard time with stairs) and the fact that the tables were so close together. Both my boyfriend and myself were touching chairs with the people behind us.
Overall, lovely! Food was flawless for my taste and was able to try some interesting dishes"

"Service was very slow, over an hour for dinner to be served after ordering and when it finally came it seemed to be rushed from the kitchen. Overall a disappointing experience."

"We we greeted immediately and sat at a lovely table. Our waiter was attentive but did not rush us through dinner. He allowed us to relax and enjoy the evening. The food was very good. One main course was not quite hot enough. Loved the Restaurant Week Menu Choices."

"Took the family for restaurant week to expose them to authentic Italian cuisine. While I thoroughly enjoyed my food and libations, my 8 year old did not at all appreciate the menu. They do not serve pizza (unless you pre-order when you make a reservation), fries, ketchup, or ice cream. To quote my 8 year old, "what kind of Italian restaurant doesn't have pizza?!" LOL! My recommendation is to leave the kids home & enjoy a night out with more seasoned companions!
Bon apetite!"

"My family was in town for a birthday dinner for my brother and I, everyone was impressed with the food however the service left much to be desired. As a neighborhood resident I frequent the bar at Bacco and have never had a bad experience. I was truly disappointed with the service my family received at dinner on Saturday night. Our waiter was sloppy, and spilled a drink on my mom as he was reaching over her to serve someone across the table."

"Waiter was great and attentive but the hostesses were idiots. I said I had Opentable reservation but they didn't record it so I had to prove I didn't "No Show" The food was Edible, that's the best I can I say about my experience. I won't go back."

"My friend and I enjoyed ourselves. The food was great and our waiter, Ben, was outstanding! He went out of his way to make our experience a memorable one. He was friendly and pleasant and made us feel like family.
When we visit Boston again we will surely make it a priority to have dinner at Bacco's!
Thank you,
Christine Root"

"Had a great dinner prior to a Celtics game. The dinners were well prepared from fresh ingredients. Presentation was fabulous and the service very attentive. Would recommend Bacco to anyone looking for a gem in the North End!"
