Welcome to Ruth's Chris Steak House. As founder Ruth Fertel used to say, "If you've ever had a filet this good, welcome back." We take steak seriously, but we're also serious about making sure you have a good time. So you won't find the stodgy, uptight attitude you might find at other steak houses. Our SouthPark location, created in the classic Southern style, features a spacious dining room and private dining areas. Surrounded by dark hardwoods and artisan tiling, you'll feel as if you're back in New Orleans. All beef is USDA Prime, prepared in 1800 degree broilers and served on 500 degree plates, and all accoutrements inspired by Ruth's New Orleans heritage. Let us know of any specific requests for an evening with that special someone, and we'll take care of the details. Life's too short to eat anywhere else.

"We went for our anniversary and the service was outstanding! The staff from the hostess, host, and our waiter, Andrew, greeted us by our names through out the evening. When my steak was just slightly overcooked, my husband and I just exchanged our meat portions. I mentioned this to Kristy the manager when she asked how everything was. She came out later with a glass of wine for me on them! She said that she wanted to do that for us especially since it was our anniversary. We were also treated to a glass of champagne each in honor of the special occasion. The Chocolate Explosion dessert was exceptional. It was truly a wonderful experience and the service was above and beyond."

"Wow-Ruths's Chris did not disappoint. We dined on the patio amid lit trees and am convinced we had the best seating in the restaurant. One would think only half service outside but we received the full red carpet treatment and will return. Such fun staff and they were extra attentive to every need."

"From our lovely tree covered patio seating with our doggies to the wonderful service, warm crusty delicious bread to our absolutely delicious meals (husband had the Chilean Sea Bass special and I had a Trio dish with a small piece of filet mignon, stuffed chicken breast & a crab cake - as well as the al dente asparagus with Hollandaise sauce & a superb potato dish (whose name I'll never get straight - Potatoes Lyonnais? - ), Mother's Day brunch was a real treat. Also a very impressive wine sommelier who remembered meeting us two years earlier when he worked at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville! We got the "royal treatment" and greatly look forward to our next dining experience there."

"Welcome and hospitality good, courteous. The staff team worked well together throughout the meal. The steaks did not come up to expectations, but expectations were high based on their reputation and price. The petite 8oz steak was overcooked for medium rare; the 11oz steak was about right. The texture of both was not melt in the mouth, as I expected - not so disappointing as to be complaint worthy, but I have eaten better steak. However, the appetizer seared rare tuna was delicious and the green beans with garlic also. Wine by the glass was of excellent quality! We happened to have two "energetic" tables alongside ours. Overall a good experience but I wasn't blown away. Tuna, green beans, wine, and service all met and exceeded expectations."

"I used to LOVE Ruth's Chris. I went back for the first time in 18 months to find that a lot has changed and not for the better. The highlite of our meal was the tempura battered lobster on the specials menu. The flavor of the sauce was really good, however it completely masked the naturally delicious lobster flavor. Our entrees were mediocre - tournedos were overlooked. My wife also suggested that the steak with no accompaniment was better tasting than with the enhancement. I agree with her. On to dessert - the molten cake was more like a chocolate cake with liquid chocolate sauce (from a box) than what we usually get when we order the same dessert elsewhere. It also came with a small scoop of ice cream, far too little for the cake."

"I have eaten at Ruth's in 4 different cities over the last 14 or so years. I am always hesitant to try one because I have never been impressed. I recently moved to Charlotte and had a $50 gift card & figured, what the heck. The Ruth's my wife and I went to was the one across the street from Del Frisco's in Southpark.
Lets get right to the point. Every single thing except the steak was bad, not OK, bad. The potatoes au gratin, prob the worst not only in sight but taste, ever. Imagine large pieces of potato swimming in a cream sauce, worse than Mrs. Stovers. Then there was the asparagus that came with no seasoning and a tub of hollandaise sauce. The bread was hard and had no taste. The steak was OK.
Go to Del Friscos for a real meal."

"Great spot, returned for a fun evening with friends. Food was good, problem was service. Nathaniel had too many tables, or just could not keep pace. We waited long periods between his table visits for cocktails, dinner order, dinner service and dessert presentation.
In fact, we finished our meal and waited 25 minutes before he showed to ask about coffee/dessert. It was busy, but there was no excuse for a place like this to be that slow with service. Water glasses went empty many times through the night. Management appeared more interested in prowling for young ladies than to pay attention to paying customers. Young untrained management, over tabled wait staff, not enough waiters/helpers. Food was good though."

"My husband and I were out to dinner so that my daughter's almost fiancee could ask for her hand and give her the ring in privacy. When the maitre d' asked if it was a special occasion and we told her the story, she brought us two flutes of champagne, and sent us home with a dessert for the newly engaged couple. Very nice, and appreciated."

"I have ALWAYS enjoyed every experience I have ever had at Ruth's Chris-South Park. The location, the atmosphere, the service, and most of all--the FOOD is what continues to bring me back; as well as, recommend family and friends. I can't wait to have another experience at Ruth's Chris. Most recent experience was with a friend of mine who had only had catered food, but she thoroughly enjoyed the environment and her food. "Ok, I will be the first to admit Ruth's Chris Steak House is typically where you go for a great steak and hands down it is my favorite place in town for a steak. However, when my family went there for brunch on Sunday I decided to try something different. I got the stuffed chicken. Wow! It was mouth-watering, the absolute best chicken I have ever had in my life. Now the problem will be what to choose on my next visit to Ruth Chris. The filet or the chicken. Either way you can't go wrong! I love everything about this restaurant. I am partial to the South Park location. Just like the ambiance a bit more."

"Location just seemed to be having an off night. It started with host taking us to a 2 top instead of a table for 3. We had asked for an out of the way table due to an elderly member in our party with hearing issues and were seated at a table right at the entrance to the dining room. Salads and soups were delish and lovely presentation, but veal chop which had been requested as medium was served very rare and very tough! Chicken and steaks were tasty and cooked as requested. Desserts were outstanding and more than enough to share.
Our server and assistants were very pleasant and attentive. The meal was good overall - but not the delightfully memorable experience of past visits and not worthy of the cost :o("

"We were seated in basically what would have been called "the kids room" at my family gatherings: a nondescript over lit dining room full of tables that were too close to one another. Bland and bright with no architectural or decorative items to break up the space and make it more intimate.
Our waiter talked more than he listened. Only after our dinner did we see the main dining room, it looked marvelous.
My NY strip was seasoned well, but was fatty, carrying much excess fat that I estimate to be well over 10% of the finished steak.
My wife and I shared the Calamari, her entree`,(it was excellent), and we both had wonderfully prepared Caesar salads.
I expect more for a $147.00 meal with 2 cocktails and 3 house Pinot Noir."

"We had not been to Ruth's Chris in a while,that said while it was always excellent and upscale,we found that the prices were ridiculously high.
It was just not worth the outrageous price that we paid . I am very sorry to have to say this but I really doubt that we'll return,too bad.

"I believe the steak speaks for itself, prepared perfectly. I think the price is outrageous, but I go occasionally. The wait staff is attentive, very eager to please, but is too quick to appear accommodating that actually following through. They need to pay attention to when someone wants to take particular items home, and not just give it lip service. I prefer to go during restaurant week, than a normal week. It’s an impressive restaurant for business, and for a chain. But overall, it’s not the best steak in town. I prefer smaller privately owned restaurants."
