FiRE + iCE the improvisational grill, is located in the heart of Cambridge"s Harvard Square. The unique and quirky atmosphere have been described by our patrons as a dining experience straight out of a Dr. Seuss book. Along with the non-traditional dining experience, guests will find a wide array of eccentric drink options including a variety of fruit infused vodkas and rums.
"It was just OK...granted, I did go on Mothers Day, but it was nuts. Waited a decent amount of time for the food. Tables and drink menus were all sticky."

"We love Fire and Ice and often go with groups to celebrate occasions. When we went with our family on mother's day, the seating arrangement made our visit so in comfortable it was hard to enjoy ourselves. They squeezed our party of 10 into a six person booth and an adjoining table, with very little space between the two. Because everyone's food is ready at different times, someone in the booth was always asking.everyone else to get up further, and squeezing past the other table was near impossible. Also, an extremely wobbly table dumped beverages on us before the manager came to switch it.
Luckily the food was great and we had fun. But the seating plan was ridiculous for a party of ten and the staff should know better."

"I guess I expected more class for some reason, Maybe because of the prices. But it was like stepping into the chow hall of a discount cruise line. All the diners for Mother's Day brunch were unceremoniously crammed into one corner of the restaurant. No table service, they just assumed we know "how to do it"-- it was a mongolian barbecue set up, run by very young folks who just seemed to show up and take turns cooking. Plates were never cleared. Nobody refilled drinks. For 2 adults and 2 kids, 80 bucks NOT well spent."

"Not what I was expecting. Was more of a 'hip warehouse' atmosphere than a romantic dinner. The chefs did pour the wrong sauce on some of the dishes, but that kind of mistake is understandable and easily remedied. Wait time is reasonable for having the food cooked in front of you.
Not what I was expecting, but I didn't leave unhappy."

"I took a bunch of employees out for lunch. The food was great, Cook was great. Our server didn't come around enough. We found our glasses empty often. But i guess that can happen when you already know what your tip will be since we had 10 people at our table."

"The only complaints I heard; the chicken was rubbery, and too many people caused our food to be slow.. But, some thought out waiter looked like vin diesel, so I think that made it worth it for them."

"We were at the restaurant for a rehearsal dinner and it worked out beautifully for us. It was great that everyone could choose whatever they had a yen for, and the process of choosing salads and stir-fry ingredients gave everyone something to talk about. The only suggestion I would make is to seat large parties (16 in our case) in a quieter area to make conversation a little easier."

"Food was good as always. We were 4 adults who went there to eat for a birthday. We ended up with a group of 8 12 year olds celebrating one birthday. They were kind of crazy and very loud....typical for 12 year old girls. Just wish we hadn't been seated near them in more of a quite corner."

"Overall, it was a good experience. However, one of my guests had an entire tray of ice water spilled on her while feeding her 6month old.although the staff apologized, I would have expected them to at least comp her drink our the fee charged for slicing a cake brought from an outside bakery."

"The experience was wonderful! Very fun and exciting. The food left a lot to be desired (maybe that's just because of what I chose.... but maybe not). There was little that was special about it, and I was a bit disappointed by the sauce choices. They mostly seemed bland and unexciting."

"Very unimpressed. Noisy, chaotic, food all over the floor. The quality of the food was, to be nice, mediocre. Long lines to get the food cooked. Too few and harassed wait staff."

"Ambiance was fun. Kids could participated and customize food. However, the sauces were rediculously salty and really pretty bland. To me, the whole experience smacked of giving people overly salty foods to sell drinks."

"This place was too crowded for the number of people cooking and the space. I am guessing it is popular for groups but the groups took over the space in a way that made it unfriendly to those not in a group. The people cooking the food did little to make it a fun experience. Not even a smile or a hello. It would have been better if there was something to make it fun while you stand and wait for your food to cook. I basically left hungry because it was too much hassle to get to the food and then stand and wait for it to cook, while the chef demanded to know which dish was my son's in a line of 10-15 piles of food.I thought he was keeping track. Apparently not."

"It was extremely busy. The lines for the raw food were way too long, terribly set up where people were coming at the food from both ends and the middle. Bowls should be on one end and that way people can only go in one direction. The gridlock was painful."

"I liked it, the food was good, the price was right. I enjoyed watching my food being cooked in front me.
I loved the way the waiter took us around to each station and explained 'what you do' when going to the grill. That was cool!
My first time ever being there and I will be coming again. The only thing I didn't particularly care for was the fact there was no beef sausage, or turkey bacon for my Omelet. I don't eat pork and I'm sure there are other patrons who don't eat pork.
Other than that everything was good. I really enjoyed the entertainment/music while eating."

"The make your own meal setting ($17 per person) has a lot of value for the dollar. The tuna and tilapia were fresh and the rice was sticky and well prepared. They ran out of many items towards the end of the evening, turkey burgers, whipped cream, hot fudge, and salad fixings."

"Music is too loud for a place that's noisy anyway, but being in the lower room helped. When you expanded you didn't expand the grill. I've never been there when it's so crowded."

"Food was very good, but I was very disappointed with the table. We got seated at a wobbly hightop by the bar, even with a reservation, the tables are ridiculously close together and it seems dangerous with everyone carrying hot food around trying to squeez by. My head was constantly hitting the bottom of the projector screen that had horrible resolution and made everyones eyes hurt since we wete seated right against it. The waitress forgot to give us menus, and was impossible to find when we were looking for the check. The food here is very good and the creative buffet it definitely an experience. I think if they took some tables out and left some room for their customers to breath, it would be a much more enjoyable experience."

"Went early on a Friday night with a family of 7. 4 people have gluten allergies. Our server was perfect. The staff was very helpful. We are a loud crowd, and it was fun for us all. 5 kids ages 17 through 6 and there was something for everybody. Super fun! We're already planning a return for a birthday.
Note: Parking across the street is $34 no matter how long you stay, if you stay past 6pm on Friday."

"I have a great time when I go there. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great. I do have one suggestion I love steak and everytime I go there its different its either shaved steak or steak tips. I love the steak tips I enjoy the shaved steak as well everything is always amazing. I just would love it if you could always have steak tips as well as shaved steak. I do appreciate the services you guys are great and I wouldn't change anything. Its a perfect place to go and I truly enjoy every minute I spend there thank you very much for everything you do."

"I was late for the reservation and the hosts were very kind and patient in waiting for my party. I greatly appreciated that. I ordered water and the waitress brought me an alcoholic drink instead. I wanted my water and didn't want to pay for the drink so she brought it back. I feel like she should have just given it to me for free since she messed up, the alcohol got wasted anyway."

"My boyfriend and I come here every so often when we're in the mood for a buffet style place. The food is ample and it's very good - you pick your raw meats/veggies/sauces and they cook it for you so it's really what you make of it. The shareable drinks are big and delicious and will last your whole meal. The price is more than reasonable because you get a lot for your money. Good deal, good food."

"I made my reservation a little over a week before the dinner. We had 10 people attending and I was excited to be able to spend my birthday with my good friends at a great restaurant. Unfortunately the experience did not live up to what I had expected. We were sat at a table that seemed great..for a party of 8. Being that there were 10 of us I went to speak to the host about finding another table. You would have thought I was asking him to move the heaven and earth. He seemed annoyed, and the woman who he sent to move the tables was extremely annoyed and made no attempt to hide her unpleasantness. Our server had essentially the same mentality. When we saw him, he would forget drinks and seemed generally bother by our presence. Disappoint"

"The food was amazing. Was very impressed with the quality of meats and vegetables that were made available. Once I had picked my items, it was cooked to perfection. The noise level was the only thing that I didn't like about this restaurant. It was extremely difficult to have a conversation with the amount of noise. The waitress also took great care of us and made the experience very enjoyably."
