"we were there for brunch. there was only one other table and a guy at the bar. our drinks came and then the waiter disappeared for a long time before our order was taken. a second waiter had to come over to take our order. don't know what happened to the first one."

"We have been frequenting this neighborhood restaurant since the new ownership took over about 3 years ago. The food is freshly prepared and always delicious! The food choices are quite varied and we gravitate towards fish dishes ... enough to choose from. However, our friend had the Short Ribs the other night ... he said they were perfectly prepared."

"We came here for Mother's Day and we enjoyed our brunch very much! Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The service was impeccable and helpful throughout our meal. We also enjoyed that they give you normal, and not obscene, portion sizes. It was great for the occasion and for any time!"

"The new sushi station at Jack Halyard's offers some of the best sushi combination rolls ever. I chose the sushi sandwich! (And that's what it looks like.) Made with tuna (or with salmon for those who enjoy cooked fish) it offers the most incredible flavor and texture combination I've ever experienced at any sushi bar. As the old ad used to go - yes, showing my age - "Try it, you'll like it!" Or, as in my case, you'll LOVE it."

"We were disappointed in the new menu. Our old favorites were no longer available and the new items on the menu included ingredients that were not ones that we enjoy. The mussels were good. We miss the small plates."

"This is a great casual, moderately priced restaurant with good food. If you want a giant pot of mussels (4 flavors available) cooked just right - this is the place. I had 2 small plates, the beet salad and the crab cake - both were excellent. My 3 compainions all had mussels and a salad. We all went home happy and it didn't break the bank. The ambiance was warm and homey, the service very good. Also several choices of fresh-brewed iced tea - that works for me. We'll be back."

"Hard to assess because it was Valentines day and things are not always what they seem on holidays. My wife had scallops. They were very good. Spiced nicely and cooked firmly; just as she asked. I had hanger steak. The cut of meat was horrible, but the marinade was very flavorful. Had this marinade been on a good cut of meat I think it would have been excellent. I was however disappointed in the menu choices. This is an American fare seafood restaurant, but there were very few seafood choices. Still, the service was outstanding. For that reason we will give this place another try. Hopefully the experience will not be so uneven and the food will match the quality of the service"
