Market 17 is proud to be serving delicious, creative dishes that are literally from the farm right to the tables of our diners. We call this "wine country cuisine" because the emphasis is on fresh, clean food from top purveyors along with an abundant wine list.
For the more adventurous diner, Market 17 offers 'dining in the dark'. It is our chefs table in a private room that allows a new way to experience food. Once your sight is turned off, all the other senses are heightened. It's a fun and unique experience to enjoy our food. (Due to limited seating, reservations for dining in the dark can be requested via open table notes but are not guaranteed. Please call 954.835.5507 to confirm dining in the dark reservation requests.)
Our menu will change daily and we'll always offer amazing tasting menus for you to sample what the chef has created. Come and experience for yourself what all the buzz is about!
"I was with 5 friends out to dinner and had an amazing time.. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable.. We ordered appetizers and they came out quick. Everything we ordered was a full 5 stars.. Wow AMAZING.. Then we had entrees and that didn't disappoint either. Food was so great we still talk about it.. I ordered what I thought was a larger portion but the waiter didn't inform me that it was a sample plate that was very tiny, so while My friends got large portions I only had what seemed to be a tiny appetizer.. So I was a little disappointed there.. Everything was a little pricy, However the waiter knew we were all in the food and beverage industry so he gave us all a 20% on all of our checks, that's was just icing on the cake. (:"

"In the shadows of the convention center and port everglades, there is a quiet corner with very good food. The entrees tend to be a little complex, with the chef using local meat and produce which gives the cuisine a wonderful fresh and healthy feel while still being delicious."

"Market 17 is beautifully decorated. However, more light above each table would relieve the frustration endured while reading the menu. I have experienced subdued lighting before, in other restaurants, but at Market 17 it is carried to the point of absurdity."

"This was a very disappointing experience. We chose Market 17 for Mother's Day brunch and two of our guests chose the blueberry pancakes. Both guests were left unfulfilled. The pancakes were miserly in size and we left feeling short-changed. Despite that major complaint the food was good but this experience turned us off and we have no plans to return."

"This no place is no Michael's Genuine in Miami.. Food is completely uninspired.. Granted, the sourced ingredients are fresh and local.. but that's speaks for the procurement guy, not the chef.. All the sides have grainy texture to show that's it's organic, but where is the skill in prep them into a unique experience.. It's universally agreed that SERVICE is 1 Star Sub Par.. When the waitress keeps telling you what you want to eat and keeps correcting you that's not what you want, it's not place you want to be nor take other people.. The food may be fresh and it may get the LEAD Green Seal, but save $$$ and dine at Fresh Market, your will fuller with plenty of smiles."

"My husband and I had a fabulous meal at Market 17. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and shared both. Everything was cooked to perfection, delicious and beautifully presented. We finished it off by sharing the warm chocolate pudding (I think that's what it was called) and it was amazing. We will definitely be back!"

"It was intended to be our special 31st Anniversary dinner.
My husband ordered salad and fish which was ok.
My vegetarian entree left a lot to be desired.... large portion at $15.95 and barely the size of an appetizer It was supposed to be served with grilled tofu which for some reason was omitted??? and never replaced. The dish's goulash was deleted by design b/c of high sodium content & dietary restrictions; never replaced w/vegetables as promised. The restaurant never offered to adjust the price of my meal & I had to order and pay for a side of rice at $8.00 to avoid leaving famished was unfair at best.
We will never eat at Market 17 nor recommend the restaurant to friends, clients or family."

"I booked a reservation for a friend's birthday. I was previously at Market 17 with a friend from out of town and her niece, who is gluten-free (I am not). That time I only had drinks but the bar was great. This time, we ate at the bar and it was terrific. The wine selection is extensive and the bartender (Kimmy) knowledgeable and friendly. The food was incredible...very tasty and well prepared. We had the cerviche for appetizer (outstanding). The staff accommodated my request for a birthday dessert. I have to say one thing: Kimmy is terrific...she not only is competent, she is interesting and personable....we will return to Market 17 just to have drinks with Kimmy at the bar! She is a wonderful ambassador for the Market 17!"

"We enjoyed our time at Market 17 for my mom's birthday. The menu was quite interesting; I like the fact that it changes daily. I enjoyed my Poussin(chicken). The black rice was also great. Overall, we had a great time. Last, but not least we loved our server, Diana!"

"My boyfriend and I ordered the heirloom salad to share and the full size filet to share. Personally, I liked that they offer petite versions as I know sometimes the full sized entrees are too big. The full sized entrees here are on the smaller side. The starter bread and hummus is very good. The atmosphere was relatively quiet which was perfect for us this particular evening. It was good but not spectacular. For the price, we might go for a restaurant with a better atmosphere or slightly larger portions."

"Market 17 boasts a truly unique menu. Our server was very accommodating and was able to recommend wines to pair with our dinners as well as some of the more exceptional cocktails. I would highly recommend Market 17 to anyone with a curious palate that enjoys an exceptional atmosphere. Price-wise the restaurant gives you excellent value for your money."

"Great food, service and ambience. Our favorite restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. The pacing of our dinner was just right and we enjoyed the wine very much as it was perfectly paired with our meal. A nice surprise piece of cake served for my wife's birthday. We only dine at Market 17 if Greg is our waiter. If you want the best service, ask for Greg!"

"We LOVED the restaurant!!! It was the first time any of us had been there (there were 7 of us) and EVERYONE LOVED the restaurant. From the ambiance to the food and drink everything was perfect!! Great server as well. I wish I could remember her name, but she was very knowledgable of the menu and was very sweet. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Market 17 to anyone looking for a great place in Fort Lauderdale that is unlike anywhere else in the city!!"

"My wife and I went early on a Monday night & we just aboput had the whole place to ourselves. Our server, John, was very attentive to our questions & neeeds and did a great job, even showing us the infamous "dark room" before we left. Great by-the-glass wine selection although, they had run out of a unique Melbec that I wanted to try (not a big deal). The appetizer's were very good and we shared 3 of them, including the Civiche, which is a must try. The unique thing about this establishment is that you can try most of the main courses as a smaller plate, which I did with the Bison. It was very tender and cooked to perfection as ordered. For desert my wife had the basil & cucumber sorbet, which was very good as well as my creme brullete."

"I thought the food was tasty and had a good presentstion Presentation. My wife on the other hand thought the food was over priced and average at best. I admit the food was small portions and over priced. Over all we had a romantic evening but dropped $180 when it should have been $100"

"The restaurant is excellent with interesting features such as a dine in the dark prix fixe (we didn't try this but I'm sure it's fascinating). The food was well prepared and tasty. The portions were just right. The music in the background was much too loud but they were receptive and turned it down. Also the TV on in the bar area took away from the hip ambiance. We enjoyed it overall."

"Upscale prices, interesting menu but rather mediocre, disappointing execution. The 'small plates' option is very attractive. There is no excuse for lukewarm, watery coffee."

"This was one of the most delightful meals I've had in a long time. First, LOVE the concept of farm fresh food, real food, that you know where it came from. Second, LOVE the option of having small portions for mains. Third, the food was impeccable. The combination of flavors was delicious and each dish provided a little surprise flavor or texture or visual. It was a stellar evening. We will definitely return even though we live an hour away."

"I received a gift certificate From Ryan Sistare for assistants I gave at the Birthday Party they had at the Ft. Lauderdale Fire and Safety Museum where I work.
This was the best evening I have had in quite awhile. Everyone was very nice. Our greeters and servers were, Itzel & Robin. Kudos to them. The Food was excellent. My companion choice for that evening was perfect. I thank you very much. We will recommend Market 17 to our friends, family and, visitors.

"Market 17 is always a pleasure to return to. In this case, the event was a Single Malt Scotch dinner with great pairings of good scotches and an outstanding menu of somewhat exotic plates. The venison was outstanding but the bison was absolutely unbeatable. Market 17 will continue to be one of my "go to" places for a guaranteed great dining experience."

"Hopefully an off night because my meal was awful. My main couse was very fatty, our side dishes were very salty, the portion size was very small (& I ordered a full size.) We've eaten here several times before but this time the food was not good at all. For the prices they charge they should deliver a much better product & I don't know if we'll go back."

"I love this place, what a gem! Great food, great menu, beautiful interior. I loved the local beer selection, I tried the Florida Lager and loved it! Very cool that they tell you on the menu which Florida farm each food item originates. Our waitress was very good but I felt like she was trying to up-sell us into ordering more food. She seem adamant that we all order a personal appetizer and a large portion for the meal. My family and I are pretty light eaters and felt an appetizer for the table, a personal salad, and a petite entre was entirely enough food. I will definitely return."

"A most extraordinary dining experience. My husband has many dietary limitations & usually winds up with something quite bland and ordinary, but not here. Even his meal was scrumptious. Their dishes are masterpieces, creative and so flavorful. I shared a charcuterie platter with my son who is a major foodie. We were both ooing and aahing over our sausage choices. They were so light and amazingly delicious - I have never tasted anything like them. I love that they have a half portion option for the main course. That gives me the opportunity to enjoy more of their first courses. It is definitely our favorite restaurant. We live in NY and have eaten at many wonderful restaurants in Manhattan. I can't think of a restaurant that tops Market 1"

"Food was very good, but they have a very limited menu since they said because they only use seasonal ingredients for their menu. if you do not see anything on the menu you like, then you are out of luck. Nice ambiance for a resturant in an commercial/office complex."

"Our group of 4 had mixed reviews of the food. Some thought the food was very good and others thought it was mediocre at best. So I give it 3 stars. We sat outside and found that to be too noisy due to the loud motorcycles that roared by. The waiter was great; very knowledgeable of the food and wines; over all he was a first class server."
