"Outstanding in most every respect. Had the calamari as an appetizer and my wife and I both agreed it was the best we ever had. She had the sea bass cooked asian style and absolutely loved it. I had the jumbo scallops and they were outstanding as well. It came asparagus and it was cooked perfectly. It also came with lobster macaroni which I thought was only average, the lobster was scarce. I had a similar serving at another restaurant, not locally, that had chunk lobster which was the best I ever had, so by comparison it made this dish average. Also, the servings were very ample."

"We had a great meal at Red Fish. Started with the beet/goat cheese salad and Edamame hummus, both very good. We both then had the swordfish special with turnip & carrot that was said to be served over Boursin grits but actually came over mashed potatoes. Despite the discrepancy between what was promised & what we got, the dish was wonderful, the swordfish was cooked perfectly. We shared a blueberry/pecan tart with peach ice cream for dessert - more blueberry than pecan, but very good. The only reason I took off a star for service was because of the inaccurate description of the special - I suspect that was as much the chef's problem as our waitperson, none-the-less, it counts as service!"

"We love Red Fish. It is our favorite restaurant on Hilton Head when we come to vacation a couple of times per year. This trip we made it the first place we visited when we arrived and the last place we had dinner the night before we left. The food, atmosphere and service are all exceptional. We've probably had dinner at Red Fish or 30 times on our trips to Hilton Head. You won't find a better place on Hilton Head!!!!"

"A special birthday.Added advantage is an excellent little wine shop, where we purchased a bottle of good wine and for a $10 corkage fee, brought it to the table.
Menu was quite tempting, our waiter was very helpful when we asked questions about menu items.Cuban black bean soup was delicious.Caesar salad . . . a bit wilty.Our sea bass and lump crab cake dinners beautifully presented, very tasty. but once our food was served to us, waitress disappeared.We could see her inside, busy with other customers.No water refills, no bill, etc.We had to go inside to ask for a bill and a takeaway box.Another waiter, apparently her "teammate", finally came to give us the bill.Delicious food, uncoordinated service team.Maybe better next time."

"I would recommend this restaurant if you like spicy foods. We do not, so it presented a problem. My husband ate little of his meal. I must eat gluten free, and the staff was quite accommodating. My fish was delicious, although spicy topping with red peppers in the sauce. The manager and wait staff were very nice and very accommodating. I would recommend this restaurant if you like spicy foods. Otherwise, no. The outdoor dining area was very nice with an outdoor fireplace. Many people dining outdoors -- and the restaurant outdoor deck accommodates pets."

"This is our second visit and it was a cool night so we had booked an indoor table. Initially we were seated in the dining room but the voice level was overwhelming so we requested a quiter location. The response by staff was quick and polite. We ended up at a table in the wine bar area which was great. Lots of people watching as people arrived and much more pleasant. Food was right up there with our expectations. The crab cakes are a must. If we were here for an extended stay The Red Fish would see us weekly. A great restaurant and friendly staff."

"Arrived around 8:00 pm. Warm night so we sat on the front deck which was adequate and casual. it also had outdoor heaters which we didn't need. Four of us each thought our meals were great. This is a must destination for wine lovers. The selection is incredible. It also is a wine shop. Would recommend to anyone."

"We tried the Early Bird Special to test out the restaurant and would definitely come back. My ribs were well prepared and tasty with a sweet bourbon barbeque sauce. My husband had the salmon which was perfectly cooked. We started with the videlia onion soup with smithfield ham. Creamy and rich and flavorful."

"Great food and even better service. After seating us at a table that we thought was fine, the host came over and asked us to follow him to a table where there was less traffic. That level of service is uncommon but greatly appreciated! Highly recommend Red Fish and will definitely go next time we visit Hilton Head."

"Crowd was not handled well for an Easter brunch which is usually heavily attended. Thanksgiving; however, loads of great food and very friendly service; I guess not as much pressure for the restaurant as on Easter which is a very popular eating out day!!"

"This was our first visit to Red Fish and I would definitely return. The tuna tartar appetizer was very different in presentation and very tasty. We had 3 different entres and all were great. The scallops and tune we ordered were cooked perfectly. The ribs were huge and very tender. The deserts looked great, but we were so full we could only try one. I would highly recommend the thief version of a banana cream pie in a parfait (I can't remember the actual name). It was amazingly light and very flavorful. Great experience overall."

"We were there for Easter brunch and we found the food very good and were surprised at the amount and quality of food we received. Normally on a holiday with a fixed menu the food can be of a lesser quality than sometimes expected. This was not the case at Red Fish and we are looking forward to going back."
