The restaurant is located in downtown Redwood City, offering Authentic Sichuan, Hunan & Mandarin Cuisine. It was honored by Michelin with a Bib Gourmand, reserved for restaurants with high-quality food and good value. It was also reviewed by Mercury News for superior food and truly fine dining. It has received reward from Mayor's beautification recognition program.
"We have been here a few times and the food is always consistantly delicious. The broccoli chicken was tender and delicious along with the asparagus beef. I particularly enjoy the walnut prawns, but this go round they could have included a few more of their crunchy sweet walnuts... (hint, hint). A big plus is that the portion sizes are enough to take some home to enjoy the next day. Over all the food and atmosphere is worth enjoying over and over again. It's not a large dining area, but it always feels homey and comfortable. Wait staff is pleasant and accommodating. Great place for 'take-out' too!"

"The host and wait staff were attentive and paid attention to the little details. The menu includes quite a few hot and spicy dishes since it specializes in Hunan cuisine as a opposed to the less spicy Cantonese food most Americans are accustomed. This restaurant is within walking distance of downtown Redwood City's theater and entertainment district. It is also convenient to San Mateo County's government offices."

"It's so hard to find a good Chinese restaurant on the Peninsula these days. So it was a very nice surprise to discover Crouching Tiger in Redwood City. The menu puts together the best from various regions of China, the ingredients are fresh and flavorful, and the prices are very reasonable. Nice casual ambience. Book ahead on OpenTable to prevent long waits!"

"We had a picky group of family members, but the large and unusually varied menu had more than enough to please everyone. The food was overall very good, even in comparison with our many options in San Francisco, where we live. Sauces were a bit heavy for my tastes, but otherwise, quite fresh and flavorful. The waiter was especially helpful and quite accommodating of special requests."

"The food is well prepared, seasoned and made to the way requested. The food came in a timely manner and both servers were attentive, polite and cordial. This restaurant continues to impress more with each visit. Highly recommend a visit by others."

"Consistent quality (good) for authentic hot spicy Chinese food. This was not available -- say 10 years ago -- unless you were in China town or some specific place.
If you like spicy food and willing to explore, this is the place you should go."

"Our meal was fantastic. Fave item we had was combo chow fun. But boiled fish, cashew chicken and double baked pork was pretty awesome also. Hot and sour soup a great starter. Will be back!!!! We were there for valentines day and seated at a table for two obviously. But right after soup was served (and consumed) waitress asked if we wanted to move to a bigger table since a LOT of food was soon to be served. Nice touch."

"Crouching Tiger is a fine restaurant with fresh, well prepared food. The seasoning was, to my palate, mildly flavored for what I anticipated for Chinese. Atmosphere was good yet the flat-screen TV fish tank was a bit cheesy for a decor item."
