"My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner this past Saturday evening. We had an early reservation, we were seated promptly and greeted by our server right away. We just ate at Blue the previous Sunday for Mother's Day brunch and we were excited to try the regular dinner menu. Blue did not disappoint. My husband had the duo of wild boar and I think he would have licked the plate clean if he didn't think anyone would see him. I had the chicken tagine and it was phenomenal. Loved all of the spices. The service was great. We would definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone."

"We went for Mother's Day Brunch and it was wonderful. There was a huge variety of food and the price was very reasonable. We wanted a nice place that wouldn't necessarily be crowded with children and Blue met our needs. My husband and I have been here for dinner before and really enjoyed it. It can be a little noisy but we sat in a separate dining room and had a wonderful time!"

"My wife and I went there the 1st time for a date night and we both loved the electricity of the place and the food and service was exceptional. Decided to take the whole family for brunch and celebrate Mother's day and we once again were not disappointed. Great resturant, maybe a little pricey but everyone deserves a splurge once in a while."

"We went to Blue for their Mother's Day Brunch special. This way, we got to bring our kids with us to an otherwise not-so-kid-friendly restaurant. We loved it. I realize that the special buffet brunch does not necessarily reflect as to how a normal dinner would taste and that the food would probably taste different (better) during a regular dinner service, but we were completely satisfied with our buffet brunch. I would say that by dining here for our first time during the brunch buffet, it has piqued my interest as to how a dinner would go and I'm already trying to plan a date night to get back and try it out. The decor is smart, the layout is open, and the staff was friendly. Can't wait to come back for dinner."

"the food was good but not great. The wait staff was awesome. My husband and I were not so impressed with the food but it was good. The hailibut was fantastic but everything else was just so. The scallops were great but for 12.95 you get 2? Spending over a 100.00 for dinner--just felt it should have been a WOW factor but wasn't."

"We had dinner at Blue for an extra special night out before going to the Belk Theater, across the street, to see Chris Botti. The food was tremendous, outstanding wine selection and our server, Scott, was beyond terrific ! My wife had the wild boar and I the halibut. Not choices we'd normally make, but glad we did. Both dishes were perfect ! A new favorite port wine was found also, Six Grapes. I would recommend Blue for any occasion."

"Big fan of the martini menu selections. The Pan Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras is WONDERFUL! My duck breast was cooked to perfection but the the leg was a little too salty. My fellow diners were raving about the Duo of Wild Boar. Both the Cake di Chocolate and Sticky Toffee Pudding were deliciously good choices. With all of the new uptown dining options I'm glad we rediscovered this gem."

"The main course menu is very good. Short ribs are great, pork chop is outstanding. Other great seasonal specialties taking advantage of local produce. "We eat at Blue before every Charlotte Symphony performance and find it to be consistently top-notch. To give variety, they change the menu with the seasons, except for the 6-7 dishes that are such favorites that they are always available. We find the dishes to be imaginative, flavorful, and visually appealing. The servers know much of the wine list, which is extensive and covers the full price range, The service is consistently excellent, and the music is soft so one can easily converse. We just keep going back..."

"This was our first time at Blue, and we will definitely go again. We started with the Taste of the Mediterranean appetizer, which was excellent - hummus, tapenade, white bean salad, Greek olives, black bean dip, pepper dews, and dolmades. This could easily be someone's main course, it was so large. For the main course, we ordered Chicken Tagine and a grouper special. Both entrees were delicious. Our server, Fergus, was great - he helped with the wine, as the wine list was a book, and he described the different entrees, and was very attentive the entire evening."

the pasta is homemade and the ones that aren't still taste like it. Just a couple of things kind of off. We ordered two martinis and before I ordered mine I asked for a specific brand of gin. When the server came back with my wife's martini, he didn't have mine because he did not have the gin I requested. We then watched him take other orders and chat with another table while my wife sat with her slowly warming martini waiting to enjoy her drink with me. When the bill came for the two of us at over $100, we had actually been charged for the two olives in my drink at 25 cents each! I drink LOTs of martinis. Who charges for blue cheese olives?"

"First visit was on Easter Sunday for Brunch. The food was wonderful and the selections were amazing. The presentations were appealing. We did not feel rushed or felt that we could not enjoy our meal and conversation. It was crowded and moving through the area was sometimes a challenge, but that is to be expected on a holiday. I look forward to coming back the next time I'm in town."

"I have been to Blue before and have given it rave reviews. However, the Easter Buffet was somewhat of a disappointment. The food was good but not nearly as good as I expected it to be based on my past experience with the restaurant. Same with the service. So it was good, but not nearly worth the $40 per person price."

"We have had dinner here many times and always love it... we tried brunch and we were disappointed. It wasnt bad but it was not worth the price, and nowhere close to Upstream, our favorite brunch spot"

"Was looking for a place that had a Easter Brunch. Came across Blue and it looked like they had a good menu. Got there early but the hostess sat us anyway. Was glad that she did because at the time we had reservations for the line was out the door. The food was good with standout like Shrimp and grits, Lamb Tagine and Charmoula Marinated Shrimp.
Do Not know what there weekly menu is like but would go back for a brunch."

"Like most very good resturants, buffets are difficult to manage and keep the same quality as dinner. It was very expensive and being in the later seating there were shortages of some dishes. Presentation of elegant fare was somewhat lessened by the dynamics of a buffet and continuous assault on the specialty items. Crepes and omlettes done from the kitchen were extremly good. Overall I feel that the buffet was overpriced; buffet for two with ice teas only came out to $110."

"Every time I go to Chalrotte I always come to Blue. Great experience every time. The server this time had a difficult time being quick to bring drinks to the table. It should not take 15 plus minutes to get a bottle of wine. I will definitely be back but would not want that server again.
The bar staff was fantastic all around!"

"for the price the food was a bit disappointing. We had a tangiene chicken dish, although the chicken was properly spiced there was too much liquid in the sauce that made the cous cous swimming; we had a Tuna that was ordered rare and it was medium; we had osso bocco that was prepared great and the side was not so good. All in all for the price level the food was mediocre thus putting the restaurant into a very occasional place as opposed to a regular place to dine."

"This was our first visit and we will come back. The menu was interesting. The waiter we had was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job. We had made reservations, but arrived early. We were able to be seated immediately. The martinis from the bar were excellent. The wine list was interesting, but we were enjoying the martinis too well."

"Blue has always been one of my favorite places in Charlotte. However, while the food and service are still great, compared to comparable restaurants in Charlotte it has just gotten a little to pricey. There are several other places I would go for a great dinner that are just as good but are a bit more reasonably priced."

"Party of 6 had generally good reviews all around. I would say that portions are slightly small for men although the ladies seemed to think theirs' were adequate. Prices are slightly on the high side. Good but expensive wine list. We had a good $35 bottle of wine for $45. This is a DARK restaurant. It's also huge so you feel like you're at a convention sit-down. Would we go back? Not sure. They have lots of competition in Charlotte and they're really only about average+. Server "Diane" was excellent."

"Service was off this time, not exactly sure why. Server was not very attentive and only checked back in when we were almost finished eating. Food was excellent, as always. Hopefully the dip in service is a fluke and the next visit will be back to what we expect from Blue (and traditionally have received)."
