"Acadiana is beautifully decorated, the food is incredible and the waitstaff was superb! We were there for a staff lunch, and our table, while not in a separate, private room, almost felt as if we were in a private room. Perfect!"

"This is yet another visit of mine to Acadiana and the experience was, yet again, wonderful. From the Trio of Pies for the appetizer -- three different types of Cajun fillings in small pastry pies -- to the subtly spicey gumbo -- to the seafood special -- to the wonderful chocolate decadent robert cake -- the cuisine is fantastic. The staff, in my experience, is very attentive and enjoyable for chit-chat. The site was full, very busy, and somewhat noisy, but you can't blame people for loving this place!"

"Everything was excellent. The host, server, and service was intimate and accomodating. The food was inventive, hot, crisp and melted in your mouth. The booth table setting was elegant and cozy and we liked the fact that we sat away from the main dining noise."

"Celebrating family birthdays. Requested booth,gave us a table w/very little room between us & the other diners. I asked if they had gotten my request,& they quickly & happily gave us a booth. Pleased with the food, but were a bit disappointed b/c the descriptions didn't quite give an indication of the true menu item. Two examples: Fried Green Tomatoes was really a shrimp dish served on the tomatoes. Also,to us, the hush puppies were a bit like a corn fritter vice a hush puppy. Both were very good, but not what we expected when we ordered. The service was good. Servers were pleasant, but we did ask for a few things & waited some time before getting, and in one case we never rec'd. Would def go again & recommend to foodies."

"My wife is from New Orleans, and she misses that area. We made a special trip down to D.C. for Valentine's Day at Acadiana. The menu looked authentic, and we were both very excited. While we waited to be seated, we got a drink at the bar. I asked for a brandy milk punch, a popular New Orleans drink. The bartender looked at me confused and didn't know what that was. I found this hard to believe, especially since I think it's on the brunch menu. When we were seated, we were greeted to wonderful biscuits served with pepper jelly and cream cheese. Right on! We ordered the turtle soup, and I was sorely disappointed...way too much celery, and almost tasted like a glorified vegetable soup. The boudin was so-so. It tasted fine, but not authentic."

"Acadiana is always an excellent dinner / cocktails choice and clearly the best place to be on Fat Tuesday! My foodie co-worker and I had the (2) charbroiled oysters (yum!!!!!) and BLT salads (fresh lettuces with lovely thick bacon crumbles and blue cheese dressing) which were excellent -- as usual. My finicky eating co-worker was delighted with her blackened fish (sorry can't remember which one) paired with fresh collards. She had even dined at Acadiana for lunch on the same day and enjoyed the trademark blackened Tilapia. Our fun evening was topped off by a couple of bottles of crisp Vermentino."

"It's a cajun menue, and we were there on Fat Tuesday. The place was packed, they held our reservations as we were stuck in traffic and an hour late. Great venue, decorated for Madi Gras, beads & masks on all the tables. As busy as the place was, our server was superb. Our meal was wonderful, for comfort food - the best. Good wine list (reasonable prices)."

"I planned a special birthday dinner for my boyfriend, a picky Argentino who travels extensively and likes to make fun of American cuisine. I wanted to show him a thing or two, so I chose Arcadiana. It was an absolutely perfect place. Very elegant, without being stuffy or pretentious. The food was phenomenal, and the service was excellent. Very professional staff, with good grasp of the menu. The duck is absolutely fantastic, and the bread pudding is to die for. I have been to New Orleans many times, and grew up in the South - I was very impressed with the elegant Southern dining experience in DC. Great for special occasions."

"We went here for Restaurant week. It was a group of six. We tried various things on the menu including the turtle soup, gumbo, trio of deviled eggs, corn and crab soup, flounder, duck, barbecue shrimp, bread pudding, creme brulee, and chocolate cake. Overall, we thought the food was good. We agreed that we would not pay regular price for the food but it was a nice place to go to for restaurant week. The gumbo could have used some additional seasoning. The duck was very tender but it could have used some additional seasoning as well. The shrimp had a distinct flavor but I don't think I would get it again. It was missing something but I can't figure out what it was. The desserts were average. The service was fantastic and very helpful."

"I selected Acadiana as one of my RW destinations because I had heard great things about it from friends who had went for RW in seasons past. In particular, I was told Acadiana offers a nice selection of apps and desserts, as well as their full entree menu for RW, which is indeed true. Entering the restaurant, I wasn't overly impressed with the ambiance, it seemed a little generic to me. Nevertheless, the food more than made up for any of the restaurants shortcomings. My appetizer, a smoked chicken gumbo, was above average, but my entree and dessert were superb (veal accompanied by cheese grits and a toasted almond creme brulee, respectively). The service, which can be noticeably worse at other restaurants during RW, also was good."

"My girlfriend and I chose Acadiana to celebrate our fourth anniversary. The vibrant bar scene provided plenty of entertainment, not to mention a delicious Sazerac and fruity frozen rum drink called the Lousiana Purchase! Once seated, we chose a nice bottle of reasonably priced Zinfandel. We enjoyed the cheese biscuits, an artfully crafted trio of deviled eggs, and Andouille sausage and chicken gumbo, which was excellent. I loved the blackened Redfish Oscar with asparagus, tiny home fries, and crab meat. The ingredients complimented one another perfectly in taste and texture. Rich bread pudding and mango creme brulee followed, with a complimentary cookie plate! Gracious and attentive service by Howard!! All around great time!"

"My husband and I visited Acadiana during 2010 Restaurant Week because they allow you to make your selections from their regular menu and not a prix fixe menu. Our server was very polite and very knowledgable about the menu selections. For appetizers, we chose the deviled eggs trio, Louisiana gumbo, and the shrimp & corn chowder. The latter two were "nothing to write home about," but the shrimp & corn chowder was excellent! For entrees, we chose the NY strip and Louisiana gumbo which was the same as the appetizer. The NY strip was the better selection. For dessert, we had the buttermilk chocolate cake, but it was dry. The server suggested the bread pudding, and it was delicious! My husband and I plan to visit Acadiana again soon"
