"Ceres' Table combines a relaxed neighborhood feel with fine dining. Our group of four tried two salads, four entrees, a pasta dish to share and two desserts. No need to identify the dishes everything was fabulous. We left stuffed and dazzled by the complexity of the dishes and the beautiful presentations. Service is relaxed but attentive. This restaurant seems to be off the radar screen but not for long."

"This restaurant was handy to The Andersonville Guesthouse, where we were staying, so it was a natural choice the first night, a Saturday. Upon recommendation, we had made a reservation, but that turned out not to have been necessary, at least not in early May. We were so delighted with Ceres Table that we chose it for our final meal in Chicago, too. There is an art to reading the menu, we found We asked questions and received helpful descriptions and suggestions. The crab Louie and the sweet potato side were our favorites. Among the desserts, the strawberry rhubarb crisp was a hit with the blueberry pie a close second."

"We had been meaning to try Ceres' Table for ages and finally stopped in on Friday night. We were immediately taken by the creative cocktail menu. I had a hibiscus-flavored house soda which I really enjoyed. My dining partner had a "blackened cosmo" which he loved.
The food was across the board excellent. Stand outs were a fantastic & unique "crab louie" (with fingerling potatoes, tomatoes, green bean) and a pasta special which was a great spin on a "pasta carbonara" with homemade, cocoa-colored pasta, Parmesan cheese, ramps, peas, bacon and a gorgeously cooked egg yolk on top. Perfect.
Service was personal, knowledgeable and very friendly.
We will definitely be back."

"Been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, on the recommendations from other friends. Started with a delicious cocktail, had the ceviche special, which was fresh and tasty. Went on to the cocoa pasta special, which was not sweet at all, but delicious with egg and bacon. The olive oil chocolate cake and the strawberry shortcake that we shared were also terrific. Our server, Misty, was enthusiastic about the restaurant and the food and was delightful. Will definitely be back!"

"My friend and I were looking forward to a relaxed enjoyable meal. The beet salad and pastas were very good. Our server however was completely subpar in attitude. He was unfriendly and annoyed to be asked his opinion about drink and food options. Although the restaurant was practically empty we felt pressured to order. I felt like telling him that his choosing to wait tables was not OUR decision and he should not seem so annoyed to be working. My friend has lung cancer and is having upcoming brain surgery to treat her metastasis so we would have appreciated a more welcoming dining experience (not that cancer diagnosis should have to be a pre-requisite). I hate to think "what if this had been her last ever dining experience on the planet?""

"As always, dinner Ceres' Table was a wonderful experience. We started with the arancine, which were absolutely exquisite. The sweet potato soup was delicious, and the two side dishes we ordered, the beets and a sort of potato turnover (don't remember the exact name) were excellent. I had the ricotta gnocchi with chanterelle mushrooms and spinach, which was great and was a huge serving. We had the chocolate and tangerine cake, also wonderful. I have yet to be disappointed at Ceres' Table."

"Another great meal. Not sure how long the cheese gnocchi will be on the menu, but it was amazing....lovely cream sauce with garlic, spniach and mushrooms. Osso bocca was so tender that I didn't need a knife. Don't know many teens that like steak, but my 15 yr old daughter loves the flat iron steak. Can't remember the name of the dish, but it was amazing....a pasta with an elk meat sauce (hubby loved it).
We have never had a problem with the service and the staff is always welcoming."

"Very good food, which is why we'd come back. Drawbacks were it was VERY VERY noisy. We had a table of 6 and the table was SO large (they put 2 tables together) that we couldn't hear the other half of the table. Another drawback was that our waiter was not up to par. His attitude was annoyance with us and he was not good at explaining our food to us. We asked what the "baracca" (sp?) cheese was, and he said in a snooty way that it was like a mozzarella cheese as if we were idiots not to know this. He rarely checked in on us. Granted, it was very busy, but when he DID check in on us and we had questions or wanted more water, etc. he said, "I guess I shouldn't have asked." Not a good experience, but our friends all enjoyed their food."

"This was my second visit to Ceres' Table. We had an early reservation because of theater tickets which explains the quiet of the usually bustling and noisy room. Our server was warm, knowledgable and helpful. My companion had the artichoke salad and ossobuco; the ossobuco was melt-in-your-mouth perfect, no knife necessary. My beet salad was full of interesting tastes, especially the addition of pistachio nuts which added a lovely crunch and flavor. The whitefish with lobster ravioli was perfect; every flavor on the plate made it special. I look forward to sampling the new menu that starts soon."

"As always Cere's Table was an enjoyable experience. The food is always innovative and quite tasty. I had the duck breast special, the duck was succulent and cooked to perfection. The carppacio was rare, sliced paper thin and served with the appropriate accompaniments. "The food at Ceres table really brings back to the US the feeling of dining in Italy. The dishes are simply prepared with quality ingredients. It definitely brings back memories of dining in Italy. "This is one of my favorite new places (new to me). The chef is from Italy and has worked at some highly rated Chicago restaurants before opening his own place. The food is delicious - focusing on fresh seasonal ingredients! I have been there twice within the past 2 weeks with different groups of friends and I think I could continue to eat here once a week! The prices are reasonable (entrees are $20-25, pastas slightly less) and they have a nice cocktail, wine, and beer menu. Desserts were also fantastic. There is plenty of street and meter parking. They are located on Clarke, just a little south of Andersonville."

"Ceres' Table is a very nice dinner spot. I've walked by it hundreds of times and never gone in. I'm glad I thought of it and made a reservation this time. The food was good but our waiter was not the best. He wasn't very helpful when we asked him to describe how one of the dishes was prepared. My fiancee and I are doing a "clean eating" diet before our wedding and we were simply trying to find out which dishes on the menu didn't stray too far away from our diet. He told us "not to worry about it, as long as we don't eat it everyday." Thanks for the help."

"We were surprised to arrive on the evening of a special Sicilian dinner. $50 for 4 courses. Each delicious and an unbelievable value. Parking was a piece of cake on the street. They were not busy (which was too bad for foodies in Chicago who missed a really great dinner.) Arancine, spaghetti al nero di seppia e ricotta, pesce spada alla palermitana lightly readed and grilled swordfish) were just a few of the highlights. Our son ordered off the regular menu and was similarly thrilled. The wine list offers many great choices as really reasonable prices."

"We had heard really great things about Ceres' Table & decided to spend our five year anniversary there. It was amazing food start to finish. Grilled oysters, beef carpaccio, gnocchi, Superior white fish, salads and dessert were all done perfectly with a balance of flavor and wonderful presentation. I had the best pistachio manhattan & tried white port for the first time. Service is attentive while being cool & unfussy. I gave the server a chance to offer suggestions, but he left us to our own devices. A plus for some, con for others. Dining room is fine, nothing fancy. It doesn't need to be when the food is this good. And at the end of the evening, the bill was way less than it could have been, maybe because of the location? A value indeed!"

"Ceres' Table has great food at a reasonable price. The wait staff and hostess were very nice, very friendly, and accommodating to our requests. When dining for two and splitting opening courses they brought out the dishes already split onto two plates. This was a really nice touch and allowed each of us the satisfaction of digging into the artfully presented food."

"My wife and I were first time diners at this restaurant on 02-15-13.
They had a hold-over of the Valentines Day Menu...and it was Superb!!
If you have not tried their Fish Selection or their Seafood Risotto, you must...
The Duo of Beef was excellent as well, I have never had a tastier or tender Grilled filet...ever.

"I dined at cere's table one other time & wanted to revisit again to get a better feel for this restaurant .
So we thought why not valentines day! It's close to our condo & seemed to have an intimate feel
We were a bit sceptical of the fixed menu choices for $50
We had 6pm reservations & when we got there the place was 1/3 full which I could not figire out whywe got seated at the last table by the swinging door to the kitchen. I asked to be moved which the gentleman who sat us there agreed to move us to a booth.
I won't go on but very small portions for $50.
My boyfriend chose the salmon for his main entry which was literally 2" x 2" piece of fish
I had the short rib & a piece of filet mignon very good
1 dessert 2 chose-choc tart -"
