The James Joyce management and staff would like to introduce and welcome you to "Baltimore"s Home of Irish Hospitality".The James Joyce is a traditional Irish Pub and Restaurant, which was designed and built in Ireland.Once inside the restaurant, you will be transported across miles of ocean, to a charming and inviting family setting. Whether you are pulling up a bar stool and engaging in conversation with your co-workers; or pulling up a chair at a happy family gathering and being warmed by the fire, we have whatever is needed to make your dining experience a special one.
"I had reserved a table for 6 for a certain time on a busy Saturday afternoon in the city, and when the function my group had been attending was running long, I was worried that I would lose my reservation. The staff at James Joyce couldn't have been nicer or more gracious about accommodating the changes in schedule, and were extremely hospitable. It was a great dining experience...the food was very good and the atmosphere was welcoming. Our wait staff was friendly and efficient, and the entire time was the perfect end to a busy Baltimore day. I would suggest James Joyce to anyone looking for a good Baltimore eating experience!"

"I had my family of 6 on a early Saturday evening. Early enough for happy hour that was discounted drinks and half off apps. Atmosphere was nice with TV's from many vantage points. Service was good and food portions were nice. Somewhat noisy but a nice place to go to with a crowd. Parking in a garage that the restaurant validates for $5/all night. Walking distance to Fells Point and Harbor."

"First things first, ask for Brian to be your server. He was awesome. Definitely order the mussels, get a JJ Amber and and Irish Coffee for dessert. The food was great, we had a blast and the live music was really fun. Highly recommend!!!"

"This is more bar than restaurant. The food is good, and reasonably priced. But remember, this is a bar first, and restaurant second. If you have an urge for Irish food, this is a good choice. If you are interested in superb food, there are better choices just a few yards away in Harbor East."

"This was our first time to your restaurant but will not be our last. We were greeted by Bryan who was most accommodating about my request for a quiet table. Sam, our waitress, was a true delight, bubbly personality, attentive to detail and just a really nice person. We all thoroughly enjoyed our fish and chips and lamb stew. Thank you for a most enjoyable evening."

"The service was outstanding and so were the Happy Hour specials. The only glitch was that they didn't check me in correctly because I had reserved on Open Table. Other than that, it was great."

Review 12 for James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant
"We visited James Joyce before seeing a show at the Lyric so it was fairly early (around 5pm). The location was perfect, very easy to get to if you are staying in Harbor east or even visiting. The food was delicious (I had Oysters and Lamb Stew) and a large beer selection. The place was lively but not so loud you had to yell across the table. It is very large inside, not a small Irish Pub but it wasn't a big open space. It still felt quant. Overall a great place for a large group and an enjoyable experience."

Review 13 for James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant
"Our group dined at James Joyce on Saturday. It was the first time that any of us had eaten there. The pub gives a good reminder of authentic Irish pubs as all of us have been to Ireland. The food is very good, ranging from Irish fare to sandwiches and salads. The pub has a great selection of draft beers. We arrived on time and our table was awaiting us. Our waiter quickly arrived to greet us,but then disappeared, and we had to summon him to take drink orders. He again disappeared, and never returned to take our dinner orders until again we had to flag him down (45 minutes). The food came quickly, and was well prepared. However, again the waiter never returned to ask how everything was, or if we wanted dessert."

"James Joyce was hosting a fundraising event for city firefighters and had live music. My 2 year old loved the music and the staff didn't mind going around her when she was dancing in the middle of the floor! Food was delicious!"

Review 20 for James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant
"The place was nice,a little noisy.I went specifically for the fish fry and my date ordered crab cakes. We had calimari for an appitizer Calimari was great, that was it.The meal that was passed off as a fish fry consisted a small piece of flat fish (take the flat piece of fish out of burger king fish sandwich-slightly larger)very little crust and do believe a small CUP of colesslaw and more ff than anything.I asked about the crab cakes just got eyes rolled at me"'. Spent 95.00 and 20 of it went to the waiter(he didn't cook it)"

Review 21 for James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant
"We went to James Joyce for Valentine's Day. They had a great special for that evening. Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon w/asperagus and mashed potatoes. The filet was cooked perfectly. Also included with the meal was champagne, soup or salad and dessert. Everything was just delicious and the service was excellent. We would definetly go back again and recommend to our friends."

Review 22 for James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant
"Food was pretty good. Potato soup was well seasoned and flavorful. NY Strip was cooked to perfect temperature and tender. Bailey's chocolate cake was a bit dry, but still a good way to end the meal. Our waiter was a bit inattentive and failed at being humorous multiple times. Offered more bread, which we never received. Noise level was very high, making it hard to carry out a conversation with my wife directly across the table from me."
