We bring to New York Tusc-Mex cuisine, a combination of Tuscan and Mexican home cooking. These two cuisines complement each other in an exciting new blend. Our menu offers a rich variety of choices, from standards such as pasta and quesadillas to the chefs’ fusion creations that introduce new herbs and condiments to each tradition.
At Matilda’s expect to find the friendly atmosphere of a Tuscan “trattoria” or a Mexican “restaurante familiar”, in a playful but stylish setting that is fully dedicated to the chefs’ daughter and the blending of two cultures.
A string of words in Italian, Spanish and Matilda’s parlance, envelops the dining space to celebrate what binds the creators of Matilda: the love for food, diversity and family.
"Thought this was a great combination of mexican and Italian. Service was really nice and very accommodating. My only critique was that I thought the food was going to be really spicy (for the items flagged with 3 faces) but didn't find it spicy at all. Think when go back will ask them to really kick it up a notch. Will return as thought atmosphere and food was great."

"The food is great. They do a great job balancing Mexican and Italian flavors to create new and interesting dishes. The drinks were very good also and one of my friends copied down a drink recipe because he really wanted to be able to make the delicious drink again at home. The owners are very involved and very friendly. One of the owners was our waiter and the service was very good. The drinks are comparable to many other similar place, but the food prices are pretty low so it's definitely a good deal. I was here with a group of 7 people and they had no problems accommodating a somewhat large group. This was my third visit and I would definitely go back."

"The food was okay. The service was a bit inconsistent. There were two large parties dinning while we were and it was unbelievably loud. This was exacerbated by the loud music. It was almost impossible to hear my dinning companions. Overall, probably wouldn't go back unless someone else selected it."

"We went on a Sunday so it was very quiet which was great. We purchased a Gilt City Deal for a Pre-Valentines day dinner. We had a bottle of white wine which was good - im just a fan of wine in general :) For an appetizer we had the guacamole which was good with chips and awkward bread. For dinner I had the sirloin which was not amazing but the potatoes were good. The special of the day pasta was AMAZING - my date had it and it was fantastic. I love that some of the food has a kick to it. For desert, I had a warm chocolate cake with gelato. The cake was ok - not rich enough for my liking but the gelato was fantastic and the presentation was good. Service was great and friendly. Definitely a cool vibe in the place. Would definitely go again."
